Batman's voice came over the communicators. It sounded as if he was talking to someone that was with him, but he obviously thought that what he had to say should be heard by all.
"I think, at this point of the planning stage, the X-Men and Oracle are on the right track." He paused for a moment before continuing. "We will keep tabs on activity around the base from here. Our sensors should be capable of tracking that. If they move, or 'rabbit', before we are able to move I'll use the JLA teleport technology to get a squad of able persons to an ambush point to get the kids."
Another, longer pause came from the Caped Crusader. "In any case, we can't jump to conclusions at this time of what I.O. will do as far as trying to get away."
His voice then directed towards the com. "Did you get that Oracle"

"Yes, I got that B... Wait, what the heck is this?" Barbara trails off for a few moments before speaking again, "Batman? I.O. has already started on the kids. The X-Men's computer is detecting nine new mutants at that location. Cerebro calculated at least two... no three Alphas... whatever the heck that means. Cerebro seems to be still calculating the results.

A voice coming in on a Titan comm interrupted the meeting, "Hello?"
After a few moments, Oracle's voice responded, "Red Star? Where are you?"
Rogue's faced twisted in confusion, looking directly at Conner, "Ummm... de only 'Red Star' Ah ehver heard of, died years ago."

Summary:
As Oracle catches Red Star up on most of the goings on and the preparation to strike at I.O. Barbara gradually wraps up the meeting stating that those who are going on the mission should gather in one location to stage an attack. Oracle herself will help coordinate the operation from the X-Men War Room.
Overall command of the mission is to go to Cyclops, because of his experience in running mission operations with the X-Men. Scott's deputy leaders will be determined by him.
Barbara notes that everyone linked to this meeting needs to state as either going or not going on the mission.
(i.e. Make a statement for your characters as to whether or not they are going on this mission. For those who do, remember that Cyclops [played by MahoHaku] is in command and follow his lead. The mission parameters are save the kids and capture I.O.'s leaders to bring them to account for their actions. And we can finally get to the action!! Thanks everyone!)

"Ah hear ya, Scott. Ah'll be there as soon as Ah can git Kansas ta shake a leg," Marie spoke into the communicator casting her green eyed gaze at Superboy. After Rogue switched her comm off, she turned her full attention on Conner, "Now are we gonna go fly back to prep for dis lil' old shindig, or what?"

"Yeah. I need to let Ma and Pa know we are leaving."
Conner was listening mostly to the conversation. He was busy getting things out onto the field and out of his hands occupying his time. He knew Ma and Pa could handle themselves on the farm and the mission was probably the most important thing they could do while they were there. Conner gestured back to the farm house and started heading towards the Kent home away from the field.
"And then we should head back."
((Soul has given me permission to try and catch up her characters Superboy and Robin. wink ))

 Rogue smiled at Conner and nodded, "It's a'right. Ah'll beh right here for ya, Kansas, waitin." An Ah'll beh waitin for ya, hon. Sigh... A slight rose color flooded on Marie's cheeks. The Southern-born mutant just fully realized that Conner Kent was the man she had been waiting for her entire life. The type of man you wait for to marry. And.... It seemed his heart belonged to someone else. The universe wasn't fair. Marie was hoping and praying that, if she stayed close long enough.... Conner might chose her over the blonde teammate of his that seemed to be missing, probably never make it to this merged universe. And the jealous part of Marie hoped that she never did show up. Marie wanted Conner to be hers, and she be his.... Then, Rogue's eyes widened, as she realized that she was still out of costume, "Whoops! Ah'll go over to tha barn ta git changed. See yah there." Marie then made a beeline for the Kent barn to get to her costume that was still there...

Conner waved as they parted ways, her to the barn and him heading to the house, to let his adoptive folks know the two of them had to leave. He was no longer oblivious to what Rogue thought of him, and for the length of time it took for him to realize what was going on, he truly scolded himself. It was embarrassing how blind he was toward it to say the least, and the moment he noticed he should have said something. Anything. But more action and quick-paced missions, the discovery of passed and missing friends, and the reality-busting impact of this 'merged' world.... seemed to constantly get in the way, along with his own guilt and grief. Even so, he would tell himself later that this was no excuse; right now there was the next mission.
After hugging his parents goodbye and assuring them he'd be back, Superboy left for the barn to meet up with Marie. Practically all his survived belongings where there, since he had made the upper level of the wooden structure his home. It was nice to come back and finally see that some things hadn't changed.

Rogue got to the barn and immediately went up the stairs. Taking off the old work shirt and jeans, then looking around for her X-Men uniform, "Now wher'd Ah put dat... oh, dere it is!"Marie grabbed the yellow and green outfit, and shimmied into it zipping up the front. Next, Rogue slipped on her boots, strapped on her belt, and put on her leather bomber jacket over top. Then she practically slid down the stairs to meet Conner outside the barn.

 "Gotta make a quick run up too."
Conner made his way up to the second floor, pulling off his glasses and the button-up shirt he'd been wearing to replace it with the black and red "S"-shield. Superboy checked that he had everything; however before he rejoined Marie downstairs, he spotted her yellow gloves sitting nearby. After snatching them up, he stepped back down the stairs and held them in sight.
"I think you missed these..."

Rogue stared a moment at her yellow gloves in Conner's hand, then glanced to her own hands. Truly understanding the moment, what Conner Kent means to her -- to be able to touch and feel... to be loved... Snapping out of her reverie, Marie gently took her gloves from Conner's hand, but allowed herself a small indulgence. As she took them, Marie traced a pair of fingers to brush Conner's wrist and palm, as the X-man took the gloves back and slipped them on. A renewed blush formed on Rogue's cheeks, fighting back tears to her personal torment. Feeling a catch in her throat Marie tried to say something, but couldn't get anything out.

Conner glanced down at the gloves as Marie took them from his hand. This was easier for him when he didn't know about the way she felt, but it was better for both of them that he did know. Superboy was sure of this.
"..... Let's go..."
He lifted up into a starting hover a few feet from the ground, ready to go when she was.

Rogue carefully swallowed to undo the catch in her throat and nodded. Dryly, her throat responded, "Alright, Kansas, let's fly."Slipping her gloves back on, Marie begins to hover herself. Then points a fist skyward, and takes off into the air accelerating quickly. [Exit Rogue to Xavier's Institute]
