The Royal Army
Terre d'Ange has a standing military force manned by both nobles and commoners. It is commanded by the Royal Commander, who is appointed by the monarch. The Royal Army headquarters is located at Champs-le-Guerre. They are trained there, and many members often live there. Membership in the army is voluntary.
Royal Commander: The supreme commander of the military. Appointed only by the monarch. A noble-only position. Marshal: The Royal Commanders sub-commanders. They are in charge of up to five Captains each. Usually a noble-only position, but can be earned by exceptional commoners (through massive RP/shows of loyalty). Captain: In charge of up to five Lieutenants each. Usually a noble-only position, but can be earned by exceptional commoners (through massive RP/shows of loyalty). Lieutenant: The highest rank a commoner can usually obtain, they are in charge of up to thirty Soldiers. They may appointment Soldiers to lead small groups when more guerrilla-like tactics are used. Soldier: The general rank-and-file of the military. They can be noble or commoner.

The Common Lion
No pride can live without its very backbone, the common members who make EVERYTHING run. Not part of a noble house, these lions are generally happy with their lot in life, as they have a wealth of freedom from expectations that nobles do not have at times.
Chirurgeon: The healers of the pride, skilled in the arts of herbalism and setting bones. Can actually be commoner or noble. Marquist: Those who make a living from tattooing other members of the pride, usually Servants of Naamah. Couturier: Those who make the jewelry and accessories of the pride. They're generally kept busy, because no noble would be caught DEAD wearing exactly the same thing to a celebration that she wore the last occasion! Hunter/Huntress: The members of the pride that provide the bulk of the food. Though considered 'low class', they have nonetheless regained appreciation thanks to current events. Entertainer: Actors, actresses, playwrights, musicians, tumblers...they all fall under this category, as they all keep the spirits of the pride high. Artist: Those who paint, or draw, or similar pursuits. Messenger: Those who run messages from creature to creature in exchange for things. Mendacant: Traveling storytellers. They used to venture outside the pride to collect stories from afar...but that practice is a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle hard now. Youth: ANY cub or juvenile of common or noble blood.
