Basic Statistics Name: Kalay Laytos Alias: Kal Age: Nineteen DoB: June 5th Occupation: SeeD operative and Instructor SeeD Rank: 5 Weapon(s): 1.Pole Staff & Short Sword- A simple long bar staff that his made of a sturdy metal. The weapon is covered in minor cuts from repeated use. He also uses a short sword that is usually sheathed hanging from the back of his waist with the handle hanging to his left side. ((He shattered his polestaff in Aural fighting the prototype machines)) 2. Ellale Staff & Short Sword- (Obtained Later) A bar with that is reinforced but made more light weight by a lighter choice of metal. It retains it's sturdiness, however Kalay still uses his old sword. 3. Wind Staff & Life Blade- See Two Year Time skip post 4. Ruby Cross & Gale Burst- (?????) ????? Biography: Kalay hails from the city of Winhill and proudly says this even though the city is mostly forgotten about due to it's location. Kalay's father was pulled into the Sorceress War when Kalay was still young so he doesn't remember much about his father. His mother worked hard to ensure that Kalay would live a happy life as a child, and quickly Kalay grew up before her eyes. While Kalay and his mother were down on money while Kalay was still young, only fourteen at the time, Kalay received word about SeeD and how he could one day have a job in the organization should he prove good enough as a cadet. Kalay's mother was totally against the idea of her son going off to be a mercenary, particularly with how Kalay's little sister, Ellale, followed him around. Finally the day came when, with their money running short, Kalay told his sister to watch over their mother, and Kalay departed with those who had been recruited to join Garden. Several years later, with the building of the Winhill Garden, Kalay returned to Winhill.
At first, he made no direct contact with his sister and mother until one day, his sister finally caught him watching her. She was overjoyed to see him and invited him home. Since the day he had left, he had been sending money to them, the amount of money steadily growing larger and more helpful to Ellale and his mother. It was during this time that Kalay revealed he was a member of SeeD and that he had spent his last several years at Balamb Garden before coming home to join Winhill's own Garden. His mother and sister were overjoyed to have him back, and Kalay was happy to be back. It was also during this time that Kalay showed off Carbuncle to Ellale who absolutely adored the GF. Kalay doesn't much talk about how he got Carbuncle, but Kalay actually was stumbled on by Carbuncle, not the other way around. Carbuncle found Kalay off on his own sleeping, and had taken an interest to the odd male who seemed to not fear the monsters roaming about. It was the interest that eventually formed the Junction between Kalay and Carbuncle. There is also absolutely no known knowledge on Kalay's exam as to how he became a SeeD.
Physical Characteristics
Height: 6'0'' Weight: 160 lbs Eye Color: Yellow Hair Color: Green Hair Style: Longish with a low ponytail in the back Skin color: White/Tan Distinguishing features: A twisting mark on his left shoulder that for some reason or another resembles two wings intertwining. Attire: Kalay tends to wear loose fitting clothing that is comfortable to wear. He doesn't tend to wear bright colors and sticks to greys and blacks when he picks his attire out. He doesn't like wearing formal clothing for this reason, but has been known to do so for special occasions. The most reoccurring item on his possession is the necklace that hangs around his neck, though it's significance is lost to most people.
Emotional Characteristics
Personality: Kalay tend to come off as a person who would much prefer being left alone to sleep than someone who would fit any part of a group. He actually had a deeper side to him if one can get past his relaxed nature and easygoing ideas though. He tends to be almost too relaxed though, allowing for his manner to almost make it look like he doesn't have a clue of when he's in danger. He never seems to stress and tends to let things go when someone apologizes to him. The deeper side to Kalay, the one that any of his few friends would know, is that of someone who is a thinker. He is also rather protective of those friends he has, even though by his relaxed manner it would be hard to tell. He has a strong sense of protecting those close to him. He tends to be a friendly and social person when someone talks to him, but he usually will not strike up conversation due to his relaxed nature. When he talks, he seems to know what he's talking about and has direction with his words, oddly enough Kalay himself has no real direction and takes things one at a time. He tends to get distracted easily by things, particularly Carbuncle whom he summons often without reason, though Carbuncle seems to enjoy the attention. Strengths: Level headed, relaxed, quick thinker Weaknesses: Lacks a sense of danger, or appears to anyways; almost too relaxed...; easily distracted Goals: No one is really sure what his Goals are. He seems to live day by day without much direction in his life. It's really strange actually because he seems to have such direction when he talks... Hobbies: Sleeping under the sun, playing with Carbuncle (preposterous really), and drawing.

He is quick on his feet and moves unpredictable in combat for the most part, each motion he makes generally used to throw off his opponents while he pulls judges their fighting style. Battle Overview: Due to his calm nature, Kalay isn't one to overreact in battle and rush recklessly. He tends to be a level headed fighter and can function as leader, but he is not a fan of ordering others to do things. He tends to leave people to react on their own and judge how they should fight. He is a careful fighter and won't put his allies in too much risk while he fights. Limit Breaks: Tearing Gale- Kalay gains a large boost in speed and is capable of landing a rain of blows on his foes in a matter of a short time. This attack is done as a mix of pole staff and sword in flashing motions. It then carries into an add on depending on the situation for the attack, also involving weapon. 1. Bladed Assault- This is Kalay's true limit break. Upon finishing his rain of blows, Kalay jumps back and raises his hand, several blades appearing behind him. Kalay sheaths his sword and thrusts his pole staff into the ground before charging his foes and pulling forth his summoned blades as he lets loose a torrent of blows, releasing each sword as it is blocked so as to grab another and strike again. In the finish, Kalay grabs two of the blades before lunging past his opponent, the rest of the blades shooting towards his target before shattering. 2. Blade Rain- (To be obtained later) Kalay holds forth his hand as he jumps back from his foes. Blades form in the air around him before he flicks his hand at his foes, the blades shooting like rain down on his foes. After the blades finish hitting, they explode in a flurry of wind causing wind elemental damage. 3. Maelstrom- (To be obtained later) This is an add on to Blade Rain where all of the blade become heavily imbued with wing magic and upon hitting their targets let loose gusts of Aero, dealing massive damage. They also trigger a second limit, this limit caused through the use of the blade called Life Blade that heals and resurrects fallen allies. This is more formally known as healing breeze. 4. Personality Carbuncle is, similiar to Kalay, very relaxed as a GF and prefers napping to actually doing what a GF is probably considered to be. She might come across as more of a 'pet' than a gf, and she enjoys the attention that way even if she is greatly beyond that of a pet. Carbuncle is very friendly and will go out of her way for attention. She has a habit of being protective of those whom she cares for.

For some reason, Kalay gets the feeling Sou-ho doesn't like him... Then again, Kalay doesn't like someone questioning him either so the feeling tends to be mutual. Two Years of Wandering
After his escape from Galbadia with Kiyari, the two separated and Kalay was left to go back to Winhill. Upon arrival he wasn't surprised to see the destruction that awaited him, but he focused on finding his sister and making sure she was cared for through Lloyd. Once he was sure she was going to be cared for, he abruptly left taking Isaac and Isaac's daughter Robin with him. He didn't offer an explanation to anyone of where he was going, he just left with the injured young man in tow. Isaac's wounds would have effectively stopped him from living a normal life, but Kalay knew a place he could get the help he needed. Not only that, but Kalay needed to go to the place he had in mind anyways. Esthar.
Most of Kalay's time in Esthar is left unknown as even Isaac and Robin saw very little of the ex-Seed Instructor. He visited the pair occasionally, getting the impression that Isaac was very interested in fighting against Edea. There was some discussion that the person whom had Isaacs medical fees waved for joining the resistance against Edea was the very President of Esthar at the request of Kalay. However Kalay's stay in Esthar was much shorter than Isaacs as Kalay left before even half a year had passed since his arrival. With him he had received replacement weapons for what had happened to his weapons in Deling.
Kalay traveled most of the way to Winhill via taxis or by foot, arriving in the little town in search of what had happened to his mother, only to accidentally stumble upon a very pregnant Lisanna. Their meeting was cut short due to the issues of what would happen if the soldiers in Winhill realized he was inside the city, being a fugitive, but he had learned a valuable bit of information. Lisanna Everett was pregnant. And the child was his. He couldn't stay in Winhill, but made promises to Lisanna that he would return whenever he got the chance. It was during this span that eventually Salem encountered Kalay in contact with Lisanna. While Salem was much more understanding with Kalay than he had been in the past, the two didn't exactly see eye to eye, but had an understanding with one another that Lis was safest with the baby in Winhill with Salem.
With Lisanna's location certain and her safety practically guaranteed, Kalay was free to act as he wanted, keeping in touch with the Resistance and occasionally returning to Esthar for unknown reasons. He continued this traveling often, occasionally going as far as Trabia for information from the surviving SeeD and such that lived through their own bombing. There was also a span of time he was in Balamb, in contact with Caize whom seemed to be trying to work with the remaining SeeD and Balamb's soldiers to keep the Island nation from coming under control of Galbadia, though the fight had been hard. All this time, every time he'd drop in the Winhill area he'd check on Lis and the child, occasionally talking to Salem about the situation in Galbadia and from other places when he got the chance to talk to the young man.
Obtained: Wind Staff and Life Blade: Wind Staff and Life Blade are a unique mix of weapons from Esthar. They are both created to augment wind and healing magic in such a way through the weapons that they increase their effects. The only issue with both weapons is that they must be in contact with the target to actually perform the augmenting effect with exception to Life Blades Healing Breeze effect. Due to this, the Life Blade is often not used for it's original purpose, but rather as a strong secondary weapon that is capable of boosting Kalay's personal healing to himself.

Twisted Fates (Sorcerer): Twisted Fates is the term that refers to the generalization of Kalay's Sorcery, which is alteration of his surroundings. He is of the wind elemental, so he is capable of using wind magic, at a 5 damage rate per level (compared to aero's normal 10). Inside this he also has sub skills that are important with his alteration. These special skills correspond with his GFs.

----Spear of Wind (Sylph)- A spear that can be formed by altering the air into a idealized weapon, Sylph's spear. When thrown, the spear launches itself using wind and when it hits something, the spear explodes releasing wind magic. This skill's damage is dependent upon Sylph's comp. level, not Kalay's Sorcery. It causes 1/3 of the damage that Sylph's Spear of Judgement Skill does if it contacts the target, including physical damage from the spear piecing the target, if it does.
