Here at Sleepless, we take the adage "You are what you eat" very seriously! That's why you get to feed your infant, and then your teen, certain foods which you pick in order to enhance their qualities, or specific physical features.

xxx} Sometimes the food will change the mood of the art.

xxx} Other times it will influence the inclusion of certain accessories.

xxx} The third kind of food is so elaborate that it changes the way your pokemon looks!

xxx} On top of these, there are also the Evolution Foods which affect how and when your gijinka evolves.

xxx} The general rule is that the more specifically it changes your kid, the more expensive and rare it will be.

xxx} Certain foods will be Event Only or Extremely Rare, so keep an eye out.

xxx} The market will change, creating a Fluctuating Stock which will make it more difficult at times to create exactly the item-set you want, but if you're patient, you can always accumulate the items you'd like.

xxx} And if you're not patient, I heard the Hatter has a secret stock which he'll consider selling you... but that comes with an extra price!

xxx} Careful, though, because in rare cases your infant might refuse to eat.

xxxo} REMEMBER: adults no longer need to eat from the market, so you only need to fulfill the growth requirements for infant and teen!

Temperament Foods: Foods of this type change the "mood" of your gijinka. Say my Cleffa is too obnoxiously sweet, and I think that a life event has changed the infant Cleffa into a rather sombre teen: I can feed them a lot of items which, say, might have a "sad" feeling, or perhaps a rainy-day cookie that makes them glum! Foods of this type are very loosely interpreted by the artist, and at the base level it can take quite a few foods consistently themed to make your kid obviously sad-- especially if they started out really happy. Try to keep in mind that although you can manipulate a character's mood this way, if the artist started them out as a super-ecstatic brightly-coloured kid in the Clubs faction, it's going against the grain hardcore to change their mood to its polar opposite. In cases like this, you'll basically have to sacrifice all other customization potential just to sway its mood! D:

Accessory Foods: These kinds of foods add an accessory which is either very specific, broad, or part of a thematic set! They can range from a new piercing to a bandanna or even headphones; what kind you get depends on the items you eat. Not all foods will be specific; in fact, many will not, so what you get might be a surprise. However, the more you eat of a specific food, the stronger that food will affect your infant or teen. Not to mention the more pricey and rare the food is, the higher the effect! Generally, as with all other categories, the harder it is to get the food and the more it costs means the more the artist will take it into consideration.

Appearance Modification Foods: Want your pokemon's skin to lighten or darken, or match its poke-colour? How about lengthen his hair, or give it a strange eye-pattern? This is the kind of food for which you need to be on the lookout! AMF, short for Appearance Modification Foods ((Because Facey is lazy and does not want to constantly have to say the whole thing)) manipulate the way your boy looks apart from clothing or other accessories. Instead of an added item, these are tricky physical changes. Unlike the other two food types, these are usually fairly specific, unless you're drinking some weird-a** mixed drinks; then who knows what colour your eyes will turn out! Maybe if your boy eats some experimental foods, you can get some cool mods for cheap, but who knows-- it's all a surprise in Wonderland, isn't it? Well, sometimes! Again, the rarer or pricier the food, the more specific it is.

Evolution Foods: Or Evo-Foo... Haha, kidding. But they are called Evos for short, really; these items allow you to prevent your boy from finishing his evolution cycle, allow you to speed it up, or even make it possible. Just like in the games, certain pokemon will require certain items in order to evolve, so keep an eye out. For example, if you have a Thunder Stone, maybe you can get that Jolteon you've always wanted?

Event Only: Certain foods will be created for specific events; some of these foods, like the Naughty Cupcake released in a draw on P69 of the thread, will be sold in the shop after their initial event release. Other foods, like the 8 Valentine's Day chocolates, will be released for a limited time, and often with specific circumstances. These foods can only be eaten once (ew, don't feed your kids regurgitated chocolate, guys > A> ) and will never be given out again, unless there is an extremely special reason!

Extremely Rare: Some expensive foods have a very specific effect, and these foods will be given out only rarely! For example, there will be a special item which makes your gijinka shiny, but that will likely be given out only once a month or so. These items won't appear often, though; these are more of a perk for patience and dedication, and for those of you who need something very specific and unique.

Fluctuating Stock: Cassanova runs the food shop. Much like a real shop, he has to order stock, and it can get sold out, or he might swap it out for newer items. The time that items are in the shop, quantities, as well as how often he stocks them, is a mystery. Careful how much you get, though, because you can't return food... it gets stale and gross, guys; Cassanova does not want your old food. So don't let your eyes get bigger than your stomachs o Ao! Or your boys' stomachs.

Infants with Different Food Quotas: Speaking of your boy’s belly… In rare cases, you might have a kid who doesn't need the same amount of food to grow, or one who doesn't accept food at all. If this is the case, it will be indicated up front. Other requirements will be substituted for the food, RP requirements mostly.

Hatter's Black Market: ??? Who told you about this?! This is a SECRET!
