Or, if you're particularly lazy and don't want to click a link, here it is.
It was a beautiful, sunny day on the Island, with nary a cloud in the sky and a soft breeze bringing in the salty air along the white, sandy beach. The wind played tag in the trees, the rustling of leaves adding to the chorus of the tide lapping on the beach, and to Canada, there was no better music. He relaxed, closing his eyes as the water drifted in over his sandalled feet. It was a day like this that Canada enjoyed, being out where the air is clean, instead of in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the cities where you could get your minerals in one breath.
He heard a stiffled giggle come from elsewhere. It sounded distant, so he never really paid it any mind. He sat down and stretched, before laying down and closing his eyes, letting the sound of the waves and wind sing a lyricless lullaby that would drift him, like the sand into the sea, to sleep.
The giggle he had heard earlier played in his ears again, louder this time. He yawned before opening his eyes, and found himself face to face with a young lady. He snapped awake with a yelp, turning to the young lady who had interrupted his quiet time. "Seychelles!" He mock-groaned. She was a tan-skinned young lady with chocolate-brown hair tied off in pigtails with two red ribbons, and big, adorable hazel eyes that drew Canada in. Her blue dress ruffled slightly in the wind as she placed her hands on her hips, looking down semi-sternly at the blond-haired youth.
"Canada, you lazy boy, I KNEW I'd find you down here." She said, squatting down and tapping his nose. "Did you forget what day it is today?" She asked, and Canada stood up, shaking his head.
"No, I didn't. It's the day of the Festival, right?" He said, and Seychelles nodded in reply. Here, it was tradition that the opening of the fishing season was celebrated with a large party. Canada and Seychelles had been selected this year to be the Festival's King and Queen, who would open the season officially with a kiss and a dance. Canada blushed at the thought of having to kiss her. He had done it so many times before, and each time he felt the same anxiety that was welling up in his throat. She held her hand out to him.
"Come on, up you get." She pulled up the timid boy with a smile, and hugged him. "Vous connaissez, j'ai toujours aimé cette temps de l'année*." She admitted in French. Canada smiled, thinking he knew the reason why.
"Because of the fish?" He was more than a little surprised when she shook her head, and he raised a brow.
"Because of you." She said, standing on the tips of her toes and kissing his cheek. Canada's cheeks flushed a rosy hue and he gave her a look of 'quoi**'? "You're a wonderful friend, and closer than a brother..."
"Seychelles... Qu'est-ce que tu dis`?" He asked, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Je t'aime``, Canada." She replied, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him down into a kiss, much like the one they would share later on that evening. Well no, not exactly. That kiss was for tradition.
This one was for passion.
