Azu's Guidelines to a Fun and Safe Role Play

1. Rping with yourself is never fun. If you are here and want to rp, have your character find another character in the castle and then rp with them. Don't purposely leave the other character hanging unless you're about to actually sign off for the night.
Believe it or not roleplaying is a team effort.
2. Try to create new and interesting characters. Granted this isn't the easiest thing to do, but at least put some effort into it. No one likes the "super immortal human ninja/elemental sorcerer with psychic powers", they're boring and I've seen hundreds of 'em. Allow your character to have weaknesses, it makes for a better story.
3. Do not introduce evil characters then have your characters beat them all in one post. It's random, it's annoying, and it just isn't worth a true rper's time.
4. If another player asks your character for help, don't leave them hanging! Doing this forces the other character to compensate for your short comings and rp with themself. B-O-R-I-N-G
5. Don't hijack other people's stories. i.e. being player 1 says they are from everytown USA. Player 2 then goes on to say that everytown USA was destroyed by the something or other war that he/she lead. Another prime example is just going off and killing the bad guy that the other roleplayer has spent a lot of time and effort into and coming back singing his praises. This leaves the other character feeling angry (trust me) because you just ruined the fun for everyone.
6. Romance is good. I love a good romance. But the "U R HAWT! marry me?!!?111" thing is stupid, cheesy, and let's face it, most of the hardcore rper's here will kick you where it hurts and walk away. Just don't over do it ok? It's not "Azu's castle of love".
7. Weaknesses are good! We are human after all! I mean think about it, in any good t.v. show you watch the main character always has a weakness. It makes the story interesting and weaknesses can always be used to give that twist surprise that we all like.
8. Don't be hesitant to plan ahead with other people. It makes it easier for the rp to run smoothly, more people can become involved, and it's like the old saying goes, two minds are better than one. Planning together will not ruin the entire rp if done properly.
9. Last of all play nice. I know that some of our characters will not get along, but if it becomes a personal problem you make everyone around you feel uncomfortable. If it gets that bad ask me about it and I will do my best to fix the problem.
Now remember kids, we are all learning here. No one is the "Master RPER" domokun and this is a place to have fun. Just remember to follow Azu's guidelines to a safe and fun rp and you will do fine.
