Roll a Twelve: Graveyard Field:In this particular field selection, the stadium ceiling is shut tight, covering the entire inner area of the stadium in a veil of pure darkness. The ordinary dirt field is swapped out for a field full of grave stones scattered across the lifeless soil. Near the northern end of the battle field, a single withered tree stands hunched over as though in constant mourning of those who rest for eternity here. A dense fog weaves in and out of the headstones and hinders vision. The fog itself seems damp and heavy, like the tears of the living mourning for the lost. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GHOST and DARK type attacks.

Arissa strolled through the stadium with Kishin trotting by her side, heading for the field they'd been directed to. She and Kishin had been working hard at practicing new and impressive-looking ways to use attacks, but practicing in an empty field could only do so much. To truly test their skills, they needed to use them against someone. She'd heard the Gym was a good place to battle random trainers, so she'd tried it out. She was eager to see how it worked out!
They found the field and entered. Arissa took her place in the box at one end while Kishin waited beside her. Who would they end up fighting today?

((Thanks for setting it up! x3 I'm fine with a random field, and I'll be using my Rattata Leto without her HP boost to make it more fair. ouo))
Whether by luck or misfortune, their opponents today would be Genesis and her overeager Pokémon, Leto. The Rattata had had some experience with contests, but that was not what she was most known for. No, if anything, it was her... "adventurous" personality that made her particularly memorable, although not in a particularly good light.
Leto, oblivious to the negative opinions often associated with her, chattered enthusiastically atop her perch on her trainer's shoulder. The stream of words did not dwindle in the slightest as they neared the stadium -- rather, it merely sped up, expressing the Pokémon's delight. She was a battler, not a show Pokémon, and she was eager to get back in the ring.

As her opponent walked onto the field, Arissa noticed a a Rattata perched on the trainer's shoulder. Most likely that would be the opponent. She thought she rememeberd hearing that Normal-types had a wide range of moves available to them, so this should be interesting. "Kishin, approach with Ancientpower," she instructed her pokemon.
They'd practiced beginning with this move, so Kishin was ready for it. She started to walk forward, but her pace was slow and she took deliberate, unhurried steps. As she walked she stood as tall as possible, chest puffed out slightly, neck arched regally and wings neatly folded. When she was about a quarter of the way across the field, she stopped and slowly spread out her wings, using Ancientpower as she did so, allowing the memory of ancient times to lend her strength as well as an air of grandeur.

Well, well. Genesis recognized the Archen for what it was, recalling the near encounter with one earlier on. It had tried to kill her and her companions, and its large strength despite its size would not be easily forgotten. They would have to be careful.
"Copy it, Leto! Mimic!"
Leto paused, frozen, her limbs held in place save for the furious switching of her nose and whiskers. She recognized the careful, controlled movements of a Pokémon attempting to appeal to the judges but... this wasn't a show, was it? There were no people!
Despite that, she couldn't simply back down. Hearing her trainer's command, she lifted her forepaws up and awkwardly shambled forward on her hind legs, attempting to mirror the small bird.
Her attempt was genuine but the result was much less... graceful, one could say, but it got the job done at least.
