You should also set realistic goals for yourself (15 pounds since December is actually EXCELLENT especially if you're keeping it off), however healthy weight loss is actually only 10% of your total body mass per month. It could be your body is just trying to maintain a slower rate of weight loss.
ALSO you were right to get those around you involved as weight loss is all about lifestyle change -> Healthier eating is a start but you need to really get involved with what healthy eating IS. Mainly portion control and the right foods at the right time. (A bunch of people think a whole steak is a serving of meat for example, when in reality it's probably two at the very least please see the
Canada's Food guide for a little help! It works even if you're b=not Canadian
rolleyes For instance you've probably heard about a million times how 'breakfast is the healthiest way to start your day', but it's important because it ALSO kick starts your metabolism for the day. Even if you're like me and the thought of eating in the AM turns you off, so long as it's 1-2 hours after you've woken up it'll still work.
Another thing -> 3 big meals in a day isn't necessarily the way to go - MORE smaller meals throughout the day (or inserting healthy snacks -> while not adding onto your total calorie intake) will actually serve you better throughout the day, as it keeps that aforementioned metabolism in high gear AND doesn't let you feel hungry.
There are also tricks like sprinkling a little cinnamon in your morning coffee/cereal to get rid of sugar cravings for most of the day and eating foods that satisfy you (stuff with protein, ((Peanut butter ,eggs, BACON!!! <- okay the last NOT the greatest example, but man do I like it...)) eating salads all day might give you a fiber boost and fewer calories, but your body actually NEEDS other foods so don't be afraid to use them!)
Also the exercise thing! It's a part of that whole lifestyle change! I KNOW it's super hard to get motivated, but once you develop a routine your body will actually MISS it should you ever stop -> been there , KNOW it.
Start small, with a daily walk (bring your dog, he'll get on your case) or do a set of pushups and crunches before you shower in the AM, people need a certain amount of healthy activity everyday and gym class doesn't always cut it!
I wish you the best in your weight loss goals just don't get sucked in to the point where nothing else matters and stick to your healthy changes! Your already halfway there by the sounds of it, with the better eating AND the family support -> which puts you way ahead of the game in comparison to most ppl. Keep at it!
