current age: 22
chosen: age 23
guardian: Seeley, female
occupation: ex-pickpocket, currently a scam artist working in Palisade with his partner Lawrence
appearance:Harpswell has dark brown-auburn hair, slightly wavy, that goes down past his shoulders, which he usually wears in a loose ponytail at the base of his neck. He wears glasses when he reads. His sideburns blend down into what are almost small mutton-chops that go about an inch forward from his ears. The rest of his face is usually shaved, though he is forgetful about shaving and tends to get a little scruffy every few days. His eyes are a light blue-gray.
personality:Although he has spent most of his life in one unsavory occupation or other, Harpswell isn't exactly what one would imagine of product of a life on the streets. He is shy, modest, and a bit repressed, and tends to still think of himself as less debauched than most people in his walk of life (for example, his partner-in-crime, Lawrence). He is shy about sex and sexuality (though his own may be a bit in question, he is extremely closeted about it) and likes to think he is generally a good man with very few vices (except of course for the whole con-artist thing). His one weakness, however, is gambling -- if somehow Harpswell gets a few drinks in him, he tends to head straight for the card tables, where he is quite adept at cheating his way to large winnings (a childhood of pickpocketing has left him with very deft fingers). Drink and gambling make him bolder than usual, and twice as smug, and he tends to get himself in trouble more often than not when he's inebriated -- so he tries to stay away from the stuff when he can. He occupies his time -- when not conning, stealing, drinking, or gambling -- with books, which he devours hungrily and fast.
