Samawati’s fierce expression must’ve been truly something worth seeing because the two lionesses that had been merrily talking about him and his niece suddenly vanished from sight without a word. He huffed, not feeling the least bit amused about the whole situation. It had been a while since someone had called Lelia his daughter but he still didn’t react very well when it happened. Looking down at the young juvenile, Samawati had to admit it wasn’t their fault. She was, after all, the spitting image of the lion that walked by her side and not many lions in the pride had met or remembered Waridi, his twin and the girl’s father. It was truly remarkable how much she resembled his brother – even down to the pale pink eyes that sometimes caused a shiver to run down Samawati’s spine when she stared at him for too long. It was as if he had a tiny ghost of his twin around at all times.
