If someone was disowned from a family, loses the memory of their own name, or is brainwashed into not responding to the name they were originally given, could they still be killed if someone writes down their original name?

Last time that was brought up... I believe we came to the conclusion that it was the given name at birth that worked. After all, if other names worked... it would get very confusing.

Remember the FBI lady that was looking for Raye Penbar? Didn't she have two different names, after all, she had two ID cards.
I also just remembered something. If someone were to try and see my name with the Shinigami eyes, but I wasn't a) named b) gained amnesia. would I still have a name looming over my head?

NamaeX Remember the FBI lady that was looking for Raye Penbar? Didn't she have two different names, after all, she had two ID cards. I also just remembered something. If someone were to try and see my name with the Shinigami eyes, but I wasn't a) named b) gained amnesia. would I still have a name looming over my head? The name you were given at birth would always be the one that is over your head ^_^;; and lets face it, not many of us have the choice to what we are named. I probably think that even if for some bizare reason we WEREN'T named...then we would probably be called something by the hospital we were born in...a number or a name and that would be it. So no matter what named you went by, or if you didn't even know your own name, the shingnami eyes would always see your true name. No matter what. That would be the name that would go down on the death list, just like the first name your given at birth. and...and...uuumm...your supposed to ask in the suggestion thread before you start up a new thread. 4 people needed to support, 4 people. You could have asked this question in the social thread! sweatdrop

Actually the suggestion thread is more meant for off topic er... topics, and for more large scale time consuming threads... like characters shrines and such.
Anyway. The FBI lady. THink about it. Remember, her fake name did not work when Raito wrote it down on the Note, but her real name did work.

Actually, I read a Zelda fic that was something like that... Well, minus the someone wanting to kill her with the Death Note part... But yeah, she was never given a name, and lived a secluded life, and never bothered to think up a name for herself.
