This is an RP thread for Miaiko, Kisulisuli and La'atzu, and if neccessary Enki and Kinyamkela. ^___^

User ImageMiaiko snuffled lazily, rolling over slightly, four white paws sticking into the air and into the sunshine as it lay across the entrance to the cave den. Her dark golden eyes opened slightly as she breathed in the cooler air that flowed over the nearby waterfalls, mountain snow bringing a delightful tang to the otherwise humid air of the jungles and valleys that made up the Umande'mfumi pridelands.

Rolling over slightly she blinked a few times to get the sand out of her eyes, and looked around for her ever-present siblings.

La'atzu breathed slowly out her nose, listening to Miaiko move nearby. Flicking an ear, she lay still, nearly lost in the world between sleep and being awake. Dozing lightly, she was conjuring up blurry images of her parents in her head, seeing them running over a tall grassy field.

Her ear flicked again. Mm...

Was La'atzu awake? Miaiko's white ears tilted forward, nose quivering as she crept closer and closer to her sister. Steady breathing echoed in the entrance, and the older cub held one paw above the pale sibling, debating whether or not to pounce her awake.
Her stilfed giggle sounded loud in the peacefulness, and Miaiko jerked her paw back hurriedly.

The giggle had brought her quite suddenly out of her dream. La'atzu slowly opened an eye, looking up at Miaiko from the floor. Picking up her head and crossing her front paws, she gave her sister a critical look, raising an eyebrow. The memory of her blurred dream escaped her. What was I dreaming about, again -- ?

"Wake up, La'atzuuu..." Miaiko took on a singsong voice and giggled again. "Let's go outside, while mother and daddy aren't here!"

She pranced slightly backwards, fully awake now and anxious for some company.

La'atzu sat up, swishing her tail around slowly behind her. She was hesitant to run out out when she knew her parents probably wouldn't like it, but the curiousity in what might be out there today pulled on her too much. Standing up, a smile played on her face. She crouched down low on the cave floor, swinging her tail in the air behind her. Her smile grew broader. "..."

Giggling a little to herself, she stood straight again. "...You think we'll get in trouble...?"

"'Course not," and Miaiko winked, dark gold mirrored by the emerald of her sister's eyes. "It'll only be for a short bit, and not far!"

Taking a few steps closer to the entrance and into the sunshine, she closed her eyes and turned her face towards the hot African sun as if it were a luxury to the young cub, and not something to be hidden from in the middle of the day.

"We can always go down by the pools or something..."

La'atzu came up to stand next to her sister, squinting her eyes as the sun fell across her face. "I wonder where Kisuli went," she murmured, knowing he had already left the cool misty air of the caves. He was out there, somewhere.

La'atzu turned her watchful eyes to Miaiko. She tilted her head, an expression of worry making her smile fade. "You think he's alright?" Papa told us to stay here.

La'atzu gaze faced the outside again, her paws on the threshold of the grassy world outside. She knew that she still wanted to go exploring, but the worry had already crept up on her.

Sniffing the humid air, she lowered her eyes. Her ears were pricked forward, listening. "It's quiet outside today." Is something happening out there?

"Maybe he went with daddy while we were asleep," suggested Miaiko, stepping more into the sunshine and twirling a little, her earthen-hued coat gold-tipped by the light and a warm contrast to her sister's paleness.
"Anyway, going down to the pools is staying here, just like daddy said..." Her eyes took on a mischeivous gleam. "After all, 'here' could mean this whole valley," and she swept one paw extravagantly towards the jungle that streatched out below where the rivers pooled together and flowed away towards the distant savannahs.

"Maybe," La'atzu murmured, half to herself. Her thoughts couldn't help but chase each other slowly around, knowing that Kisuli going with Papa was only one possibility. It was a lot more like Kisuli had followed Papa, somewhere out there...

A smile broke the worried expression on La'atzu face. "Of course he didn't mean the whole valley..." She giggled a tiny bit. La'atzu knew exactly what Papa had meant. But Miaiko was good at finding the loopholes in things.

Sighing, she turned back to the view before them. The grass was just barely tickling her paws, inviting her into it, almost encouraging her. A mischievous smile flitted over her features. "Only if you can...catch me!"

Quickly darting a paw out to tap Miaiko's side as "It," La'atzu bounded as fast as she could out of the cave, giggling almost to herself, scattering lose earth with her flying paws. The breeze was strong in her face, trying to push her back, but she wouldn't let it. Gotta catch me!

She was running toward the bank of the river near them, intent on maybe even jumping across to get away from Miaiko's paws. Except something stopped her, causing her paws to dig into the ground, sending up small puffy clouds from the lack of water in the soil.

A large, white lioness stood across the river from her, bending down as if to drink. She raised her head slowly, her eyes silvery-blue - beautiful, clear eyes, that looked deep into La'atzu's own wide green ones. La'atzu stood stock still, awe-struck. She had no idea what to say. The lioness said nothing either, only looked at her kindly, tilting her head a little. And then, she smiled.

La'atzu shut her eyes and shook her head hard, then blinking in the sunlight. There was only the rushing, flowing water of the river in her ears, and a blank patch of grass where the lioness had just stood. There was nothing there.

Breathing hard, her eyes were wide, staring at the spot. I just saw that there, I know I did!

Miaiko nearly cannoned into her sister as the white cub suddenly stood stock still.

"Hey, not supposed to stop in the middle of a game, silly! TAG!" The earthen-hued cub danced away with laughing steps, before realising that her sister was still standing there, a little shaken. She approached her agian slowly.

"You.. alright, La'atzy?" Miaiko looked over in the direction she was looking, and looked puzzled. The river rushed on past, albeit small in it's banks.

La'atzu turned slowly, looking into Miaiko's eyes. "Mia," she said slowly, barely above a whisper. "I saw...I saw a mama lion over there...she was big and white...but then she disappeared..."

Her gaze turned by itself back to where the lioness had been standing, looking at her. The grass wasn't even bent by paws that might have been standing there -- there was no sign of the other. The lioness had vanished without a trace.

La'atzu stared down at her paws, saying to herself mentally that she knew she had seen it there. It had been so real, but now it was gone. What was that? Was it some kind of bad thing?

Her face feeling hot, she almost wondered for one strange moment if the Storm God was a boy or a girl...but didn't "god" mean boy...

I know I saw it...

She shook her head, confused. Glancing again at Miaiko, she didn't know what else to say. You believe me, right Mia...?

Miaiko was about to scoff, but stopped as she looked properly at her little sister's face. And the stories she'd been told every evening as they drifted to sleep came sharply to mind, and she swallowed.

"Let's go have a look, huh? Maybe the big mama lion just walked away," the larger cub said stoutly. Unfortunately she had inherited her mother's large bones, making her look vaguely clumsly, rather than delicate and elegant as her sister. But she would take her word - there was no reason not to!

Except they'd have to cross the river to look...

Her brow furrowed slightly.
