Every time I see these words, I can't do anything but agree with them. We are the most violent species to ever walk this planet, and it amazes me how far we've come.

Actually, research seems to indicate that human violence is a social construct. Ancient societies tended to be peaceful until they organized into large social groups (cities) and started having to compete with other groups for resources. Thusly, the rise of politicians and warriors.
