So has anybody else been watching the "reimagined" BSG? I thought it started out reasonably well. In some ways better than the original series, but in some ways weaker. The 2nd season seems to have lost some of the focus the 1st season had, and despite the introduction at the start of every episode that the Cylons "have a plan"... I often find myself wondering if the series' writers have figured out just what that plan is yet. confused
I like James Callis's take on Gaius Baltar... brilliant, loony, and entirely self-serving.

I've been watching.. I'm not that impressed. Its an OK show and the characters are great.. the general plot is very good, but I think the writing is kinda flacid and the timing for the shows is compleatly aweful. I like the Cylons, I like Gaius, I like Starbuck, I LOVE captain adama and the president, but everything else is kinda cruddy.. Also.. I liked the old show.. so.. that has a little to do with it.

I agree for the most part with your assessment. I also have fond memories of the original series, and liked how all of the Galactica main characters got along. That's something that wasn't retained in the new show... instead, it seems like the human characters spend most of their time squabbling with each other instead of fighting the cylons, or finding Earth, or whatever it is they're supposed to be trying to do.
They showed a preview for new Dr. Who season 1 during the commercial break of last week's episode. It wasn't particularly good I thought, and was somewhat spoilerific. Like showing the Doctor exploding, of all things. If I didn't already love the show, that trailer wouldn't have inspired me to tune in...

Sci Fi has been downplaying Dr Who forever.. its not a "SciFi Origional show" so they don't want it as much, but they can't deny how awesome its doing in england.. They just want creative control.. and I don't want another battlestar galactica in the form of my favorite scifi show.... that would just be painful.

In a way, I can sort of see why SciFi would favor their "original" programs, since the subsequent sale of those shows on DVD can mean a substantial amount of moolah. But the channel needs to increase its variety of shows. Because as far as I can tell, all they show is BSG, the two Stargate shows, Tripping the Rift, and lots of really cheesy B movies...

I didn't like it. I'm sorry, but to me Starbuck is NOT a girl! He's a cigar-smoking fighter pilot.
But the original series had problems, too. I could elaborate, but I won't.

Popped by the SciFi website and noticed that they're doing a series of webisodes leading up to the Season 3 premier of the "reimagined" Battlestar Galatica in October. Hopefully they won't be as lame as the Dr. Who Tardisodes from last season... Just thought I'd mention that to all you BSG fans. All one of you. Me. Whatever. xd
