Who is Puffer Fish

Erik is a reminder to me of how cruel people really are.

No matter what you do, or how much good you do in life, there will be people who hate you for it.

Just because you aren't a model on a magazine, starving yourself to death, doesn't mean that you are a freak. Just because you're not the most attractive person out there doesn't mean that you should be mocked, although that's my case...

To quote a friend's signature, "Beauty does not always please the eyes, but it pleases the soul."

Thus, Erik. A musician with an amazing talent for violin and voice, shunned by the world due to a beastly deformity. If I base this off the quote, Erik was the most gorgeous man on the planet.
Everyone is too superficial. Too obsessed with their hair and looks and make-up and clothes. In twenty years that won't matter. You aren't gonna get a job based off how you looked in high school.

But he, he, the man whom all of us have given a small part of our lives, would be abhorred in this, or any, lifetime.

Remember Erik's words from Christine's tale: "Let us give a little of the music of Heaven to men." Well, he has. Through all stage Phantoms, all of them. Even Gerard. Each one of them who performs Erik has a small part of his soul inside them, allowing them to possess great skill in certain areas of Erik.

Gerard, his seduction.
Crawford, his voice.
John-Owen Jones, his emotion.

If combined, they would all become nearly all of the Opera Ghost himself, the Phantom of the Opera.

Which is why it will be a sad day for all of us when one of them dies, for Heaven will get a little music of men, and Erik will be waiting to bless another.

All musicians who know of him have a little bit of him in them, whether they know it or not.

All people have some deformity, lest it be literal or not. Personality disorders, literal disfigurement, or whatever it be. We are all human, it's only normal.

However, Erik, was a work of art. Maybe modern art, which can never be understood, but nonetheless a work of art.

*blinkblink*
Whoa...that felt weird...
I feel like I was possesed for that statement...

Ever since I was young I was teased horribly and usually did not have more than a few close friends. It made me sad sure, but since the 5th grade Erik has been like a guardian angel to me, somewhat like a kindered spirit (though, obviously the torment and cruelty placed upon me was far less horrible that what Erik had been through). My interests have come and gone, but the Phantom of the Opera has always stayed.
