Here follows some psycho-metaphysics.

If you are not hot for philosophy, best just to skip it.

The Aneristic Principle is that of apparent order; the Eristic Principle is that of apparent disorder. Both order and disorder are man made concepts and are artificial divisions of pure chaos, which is a level deeper than is the level of distinction making.

With our concept-making apparatus called "the brain" we look at reality through the ideas-about-reality which our cultures give us.

The ideas-about-reality are mistakenly labeled "reality" and unenlightened people are forever perplexed by the fact that other people, especially other cultures, see "reality" differently.

It is only the ideas-about-reality which differ. Real (capital-T) True reality is a level deeper than is the level of concept.

We look at the world through windows on which have been drawn grids (concepts). Different philosophies use different grids. A culture is a group of people with rather similar grids. Through a window we view chaos, and relate it to the points on our grid, and thereby understand it. The order is in the grid. That is the Aneristic Principle.

Western philosophy is traditionally concerned with contrasting one grid with another grid, and amending grids in hopes of finding a perfect one that will account for all reality and will, hence, (say unenlightened westerners) be true. This is illusory; it is what we Erisians call the Aneristic Illusion. Some grids can be more useful than others, some more beautiful than others, some more pleasant than others, etc., but none can be more True than any other.

Disorder is simply unrelated information viewed through some particular grid. But, like "relation", no-relation is a concept. Male, like female, is an idea about sex. To say that male-ness is "absence of female-ness", or vice versa, is a matter of definition and metaphysically arbitrary. The artificial concept of no-relation is the Eristic Principle.

The belief that "order is true" and disorder is false or somehow wrong, is the Aneristic Illusion. To say the same of disorder, is the Eristic Illusion.

The point is that (little-t) truth is a matter of definition relative to the grid one is using at the moment, and that (capital-T) Truth, metaphysical reality, is irrelevant to grids entirely. Pick a grid, and through it some chaos appears ordered and some appears disordered. Pick another grid, and the same chaos will appear differently ordered and disordered.
Reality is the original Rorschach. Verily! So much for all that.

It is time to dive to GREAT OUTDOORS! O! my feeble minded compadre we speak not of the world outside our buildings, but the world outside the foundations of our reality itself, out through the doors of the domain of physical laws to the world of the grand war between the folk who don't even know why exactly they are fighting. Chaos versus Order? The sides may not even really be there, but the battle ensues anyway. Choosing to believe what you will is an illumination exercise that might also snuff out your brain candle all together. What we have here is a war for total domination of nothing in itself.

On one side of the GREAT OUTDOORS, we have the essence of Chaos, the primordial ooze from which spawned all things. The believers who worships the very symbol of the universe oozing from Eris's dripping womb. Who bow down to the broken mass of the machine, who hold above all things the complete lack of understanding, accepting the absurdity of the world and living in utter discord.

Far on the other end of the world beyond the worlds lie the agents of Order. These beings who know that all things are driven by laws, that all, with the proper tools and logic, can be understood, categorized, and controlled based on that understanding. These are the folks driven by rational thought.

Then in-between it all lies the the rebels, the people who don't care, are too ignorant, or simply too smart to fall into the grand illusion of the war. They come in all shapes and sizes, and are entirely unaligned.

How did these people come to the GREAT OUTDOORS!? Be it accidental overdose, supreme meditational enlightenment, an orgasm that was a little too good, or a dream taken a little too seriously, people have fallen through that gateway all throughout time. Then, through what they chose to believe, or from what was hammered into their skulls, they joined the eternal war that goes on forever outside of the world.

Take up ye weapons brilliant warrior, see what fate has in store!

CHAOS

The HQ of the Chaos army is located in the subterranean tower that juts out of the face of the Cliff of Looo. Surrounded by heavy fortifications, the only path up to the top of the cliff is nearly impenetrable. Assault from below is also a bad choice as the chaos-whores have no reservations to dropping bombs and feces out of their windows. The cliff itself towers above the Ctrathik mountains which are jagged and snow covered, despite the fact the Cliff of Looo is always snowfree and grassy. The nearest town if Skudville, a Bavarian inspired town with plenty of ale and enjoyment.

They also have outposts all throughout the Great Outdoors.

Current Territories Held
Uld Desert
Fur Forest
The Shores of Ashren( not the ocean itself... thats owned by He Who Sleeps Beneath The Ice.)

Order

The HQ of Order is the great flying Icosahedron fortress that hovers in the exact center of the joint nations the make up the Unicursal Hexagram of Harmony. It can only be reached by flight, or by climbing the drop ladder that extends the 30000 up (not recommended.) They do have a teleportation ray, but is generally only used for important people. Assault is extremely difficult against the Icosahedron. It has a great laser that shoots beams in the shape of Metatron's Cube.

They Have Outposts throughout the Great Outdoors

Current Territories Held
Pythagorian Plains
Newton Swamp
Albert Islands

Neutrality

You get nothing to call your own.

Neutral lands

The Shardlands(frozen wastes)
Home(great city of people who don't have any idea about anything)
The Sinkhole (a ten-thousand mile hole in the ground that gently slopes down to unknown depths.
