Genesis' face was covered with concern when she once again struck him on the side and she mentally reminded herself that she wasn't going to kill him, that his wounds would heal. Her eyes quickly darted to his hammer, which seemed to be spinning sporadically to her, it gave her an unsettling feeling in her stomach. Genesis felt like she couldn't accurately assess where a wild weapon was going. She clenched her sword in front of her face, following the weapon with her eyes, occasionally moving her sword into a different place. Then she lost sight of the weapon completely. "What the..." Genesis muttered under her breath. Genesis looked up and spotted the weapon which seemed like it could possibly spiral straight at her. She crouched and clutched her sword defensively above her.

It had worked! Infernos had realised when he was made a squire and given his gift, that Shroud Breaker could be taken from him, or lost. He'd been learning how to handle a situation where he couldn't access his weapon, and he used that to give himself an advantage. Infernos pushed off hard with his last step and shot himself into Genesis' exposed midsection, throwing his entire body into it with his shoulder. Letting out a grunt as they both hit the ground, Infernos sat himself on top of her stomach and grabbing for her sword arm, twisted it at the wrist in order for her to drop it.

Genesis hadn't realized that she had left herself completely open to attack from him. In her mind the enemy had been the weapon, not the wielder, and consequently she had protected herself from the wrong thing. The jump at her stomach pushed the air right from her lungs, and Genesis gasped for air. Her back burned as she hit the ground and skidded across the gravel a few inches. The burn from the ground seared and she clenched her eyes and her teeth. The pain from the ground was quickly followed by the twist of her arm and her fingers reluctantly releasing her sword. The sword clanged as it hit the ground, her pride along with it.

Shroud Breaker thudded on the ground behind them as Infernos sat panting for breath. Seeing as Genesis dropped her weapon, he untwisted her wrist but held it. He was not sure if she had more in her, but his strength was fading and he was not sure if he would be able to continue much more. Infernos flicked his soaked hair away from his face as he looked down at Genesis with a serious look. The tackle had hit hard, and the impact from it and the ground probably had hurt. Infernos decided to take his weight off her, to allow her to at least breathe.
" If you like... we can... call this....a well... inform... ative.. lesson"
IT was hard to talk through laboured breath, but he was wishing to see if Genesis wanted to continue.

Genesis sighed, well that had been embarrassing. She allowed herself to get distracted of all things! Her fluster turned into frustration as she shook the arm he held to free it of his hand and then took both her hands and shoved him off of her stomach. That was enough of his gloating, sitting on her, she shot him a small glare. Genesis was surprisingly silent throughout the whole thing. She slowly stood herself up once she was free and looked over her shoulder at her scraped back, then her eyes moved down to the ground and her sword laying there.
Genesis picked up the sword and put it back in its holster at her side. "Yeah, informative." she sighed, it was hard for her to swallow the defeat. "Uh... you fought... well..." Genesis now knew she needed to practice a lot more. Just knowing things in her head wasn't going to help her, her body needed to know them too.

Infernos fell back on his butt, and was a little surprised to her upset. Given the circumstance he guess he would probably felt frustrated if the roles were reversed. He pulled himself off the ground and before anything he bowed, Infernos respected Genesis as a worthy opponent and she had honoured him with many gifts today. Dusting himself down and brushing back his hair, Infernos went to retrieve his weapon from the ground.
" I do believe she mistook what you said"
. o O ( But it was an informative fight)
" Judging by her appearance, I'd say she took your words as jest at her expense"
Infernos thought about what he said and turned around to face Genesis. Bragging and teasing were not ideals of a knight, he did not want a fellow squire to think ill of him.
" Forgive me, when I meant informative, I implied both of us. I also learned a great deal this day, and for that I thank you"
To emphasise his point, Infernos inspected the gash on his mid section, the sting still present in his nerves.

After Infernos bowed, Genesis closed her eyes and took several moments to just take some deep breaths trying to calm her spirit and her bruised ego. Finally, she opened her eyes and bowed to her fellow squire. She thought she had almost had him, she had stricken him twice, and only failed at the end because she was distracted, she had fought well considering her lack of practice at offensive strategy. Genesis didn't want to be a sore loser though, it didn't look good. "No, you are... correct in what you have said, I have learned a lot, it was an educational fight." That was why she had sparred right, to learn? Genesis looked at the gash she had made on Infernos, which still had not been sealed like his shoulder. "You need help fixing that or can you take care of it?"

Infernos gave a nod to her response, to know that his tactic worked, and what to expect a future battle to be like was information he needed to know. He felt Genesis would be a formidable ally in the battle against the abominable scourge of the island, he could see himself fighting along side her. Wiping the sweat from his face, Infernos attempted to look at the gash on his side, but his point of view, he could only see a bloody mess. When Genesis offered to help, his immediate reaction was to try to take care of it himself and politely refuse. It was another chance to train himself, as he realised in battle, he had not been proficient in using his own healing power. But like most situations, a rule came to mind. Rule 31: Remember you are not just a knight, you are a legion.
" If you have the time, I would appreciate your assistance. I believe I should see to this soon, and my skills in this area are not yet harnessed"
Infernos kept the stern look on his face as he always did, placing Shroud breaker back in its harness on his back. Perhaps he might learn from Genesis again, while she took care of him.

Genesis chuckled slightly and responded honestly, "Well my abilities are not exactly practiced either" Genesis studied his wound, she felt like any attempt to heal him, since she hadn't practiced it before, might just make the wound get wider or explode into a bloody mess. Genesis stared at him uncertainly, she had offered to help, and he accepted her help so she should at least try. Genesis had paid attention when he healed his shoulder, it didn't look like it could go too badly.
Genesis held out her hand over his wounded side, and cleared her mind and focused. The same glow that had come to his hands was now in her hands and flowing from her fingers to his wound. The blood stopped flowing out of his wound, but other then that nothing happened. He would still need to wash off the blood that was now pasting itself to his skin. Genesis shrugged her shoulders, "Well..." she drew her hand back, that had been interesting.

Infernos stool quietly still and allowed Genesis to attend to his wound. When he tried this on himself earlier, he was too busy focusing on the battle at hand to take notice of how it felt. It was though as he expected, the stinging stopped, it felt warm and pleasant. Much like holding onto a warm cup of tea when your hands are cold. When Genesis had finished, Infernos inspected her work. His side needed cleaning, and it wasn't the greatest work, but he was glad to be whole again.
" You did well, and with The Guardians learning, will only improve"
Infernos gave his fellow squire a pat on her shoulder and then offered his hand to her to shake.
" I must retire. It is late, and I require a bath, food and rest. I will be back here at dawn if you wish to train with me again. Thank you for today Genesis"
