★ HISTORY: After being defeated by Diamond/Platinum, Volkner sought out new excitements in the form of traveling. He didn't care were he ended up, or how he got there, all he cared about was if it proved to be interesting. Flint, a very close friend, had sought out Volkner after a year of his absence to pass word about the rumor circling around OMEGA. However, Volkner brushed it off as just another tale Fantina might have cooked up just to cause drama.

However, learning about gym leaders already in the religion or had converted a couple years later, Volkner found it both interesting and a tad bit concerning. Volkner traveled back to Sunnyshore only to find himself permanently replaced as a gym leader there. Either out of suspicion or bitter resentment, he found himself hating OMEGA even though he was first curious about it. Two years he lived like a regular citizen in Sunnyshore, and found it painfully mundane for his tastes. He was to set out once again to explore a region he had yet to see, but that was changed as soon as war broke out.

He, along with Jasmine, had tried to defend Sunnyshore for as long as they could, but it only wore them out within weeks as the OMEGA soldiers came in by both sea and the only other route. The two eventually evacuated as many as they could, and with Jasmine's suggestion, Volkner went off to check on the other cities and towns. For months, he helped rebels fight back against OMEGA in differing cities in Sinnoh, then leading them to the next rebelling town, but eventually he saw that there was no way they could win, with even skilled gym leaders he once called friends on OMEGA's side, and trainers picking the different side in hopes that they would be spared.

Volkner then went into hiding, not knowing exactly what to do. The world he once knew was being destroyed around him, and each region he fled to weren't close behind in their fall to OMEGA. In small years, he had many run ins with OMEGA, some of which he narrowly escaped from, but had stolen bits and pieces of their equipment to try and tinker with.

He's currently in Johto, hiding among the citizens with plans to get to Lorelie's ice protected island.
