As we know, in AGA there are people from almost all parts of the world and also people with different tastes and preferences. There are lots of good stuff around there, but finding the thing you are looking for can be some times difficult or you didn't know what to look for.

So, I had an idea. You could post here what you are looking for and then others could recommend different artists, if they know some. Or if you have just found this awesome painter and want us all to know about it, by all means, let it out and tell us about it! This way we could all maybe get some new ideas and find new books to read or music to hear.

Okay, I'll go first. I like reading books and usually read sci-fi and fantasy. Recently I've read more of the sci-fi section but I want to get some new authors to read.

I really like Ian M. Banks and have almost read majority of his books. I like how he builds the stories and the fact that the stories happen in the same universe but they are still not sequels so it doesn't matter in what order you read them. Other sci-fi authors I like are Ben Bova and Arthur C. Clarke.

What I'm looking for is a sci-fi oriented stories but they don't need to be the general "fighting in the space" category. Preferable not sequels or at least nothing with more than three parts. I also like authors like Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet so the books don't have to be too serious either.

So, do you have any good author that I could check out?

You might really like Connie Willis. I'd begin with "Doomsday Book" or "To Say Nothing of the Dog." She has a few books based on an organization that sends time travelers to specific places in the past to either observe or attempt to fix certain things..

Another that's more Urban Fantasy rather than sci-fi is Charles De Lint. Some of my favorites from him are; Dreams Underfoot (it's a collection of short stories but they are all set in the same place and many of the characters overlap), Trader, Jack the Giant Killer, and Memory and Dream.

Those sounds really interesting. 3nodding I'll note them down and lets see if I can find them in here.
