Okay right now I'm obsessing over The Haunted Mansion rides at the parks. I've been on both the WDW one and Phantom Manor at DLP. But I research a lot so know quite a bit about the original in California too. XD

Haunted Mansion

Who else loves this ride? Isn't it just awesome? They recently updated the one at WDW including making the hitchhiking ghosts more interactive, but it was a long time ago when I went on that ride.

They also redid the animatronics of them;

I like Ezra's (middle one) hair. He's probably my favourite ghost from the ride anyhow.

And did you know they're making another Haunted Mansion movie? Apparently its going to be scary... but fun. And it involves the Hatbox Ghost who was taken out of the ride a few days after it first opened.

This is a mini documentry (about seven minutes long) by the Disney History Institute that shows some actual old footage of him that was found last year.

Anyhow... now what about the music eh? Its epic!

Haunted Mansion Theme
(Xan! You know you want to teach me how to play the keys? Well I want to learn how to play this!) XD The full effect when actually on the ride is great. I'm partial to organ music (being as its my favourite instrument) so like this quite a lot.

Anyhow; discuss! Favourite parts of the ride etc.

Ah I hope you get to visit it. I really recommend Haunted Mansion/Phantom Manor. Its not like one of those haunted house rides where things make you jump or anything; its a story and very nicely done.

However you guys should check this out. This music is played at Phantom Manor and they also use it at California during the Haunted Mansion Holiday. Its the music box theme. Its VERY pretty.

Concerning both versions of the ride (their stories differ from each other) I like both equally. XD

I love the Haunted Mansion; and am quite a fan of the Hitchhiking Ghosts. XD I love to know how rides work too so the actual methods for the creation of the effects etc. interests me a lot too.

Phantom Manor is epic as well. Though once when I was on it with my cousin it kept stopping and an annoucement played saying that ghosts were messing around or something.

Unfortantly the recording Vincent Price did as the Phantom [as its the Phantom that narrates Phantom Manor instead of the Ghost Host for those who are unaware] is no longer used on the ride due to the fact they had to change it to French. Though I have heard his version on a soundtrack. I do like the French version of course but would like to hear Price's version also actually on the ride... maybe they could alternate it? Hmmm.
