I just don't understand the inconsiderateness of some people

You are the apple...

My grandma and I were driving back to her house today and this homeless couple were on the corner when the woman stumbled and fell over the curb. The man, trying to help her up, fell right over as well. Something was a bit off about them, possibly drunk, but none the less, my grandma stopped and I helped the woman pick up her things and helped her to her feet. As I was making sure she was alright and didn't need an ambulance or anything (she had a rough time getting up, as if her leg was hurt), a man two cars behind us started honking his horn and yelling at us to get a move on.

Now, granted, we were stopped in the turn lane, but really, they couldve gone around or something. Is a person's health and well being more important than whatever you're in a hurry for?

This man really irritated me, but luckily he didn't ruin what turned out to be a rather enjoyable birthday.

Have any of you had an experience like this, when you try to help someone and another person gets mad at you for holding them up? Do any of you sympathize with the man who got mad at us?

and I am your core.

I don't sympathise with the man who got mad, but I understand it. Other than a few random incidents, like with you and your grandmother, the average citisen no longer cares about the well-being of other people. But it really depends on the region, I suppose. Each city has its own set of personalities, really. In every state, you have a few cities/towns where everybody cares about everybody else and will help a stranger (although it was much more evident in the 50's and 60's). But for the majority of the population, the well-being of their fellow man is no longer a concern; especially with growing concern about inflation and our money being worth less and less, the cost of bills going up. Not to mention the fact that there are more bills now than ever before, and the money is needed more urgently every year.

I could say a lot more to the same effect, but it's time for me to go to bed. Talk to you later.

It's an urban thing. Blame overdevelopment, dense residential populations, and a broken political/social system with its morals and priorities back asswards.
