Name Haley Ciel Nevermoar
Gender Male
Age Appears 18
Species Modified Human
Occupation Circo Nelle Stelle’s Assistant costume designer. “No big role here~ I don’t really like all that much attention…”

Appearance Haley has light blonde hair that reaches his shoulders and deep blue eyes that almost seem to glow with their own light and flawlessly pale skin. He stands at an even 6’2” and has a lithe, athletic frame, which is usually over-looked due to the fact he has rather feminine features. He’s a fiend for needles and has more piercings than one could count on their fingers, of course he only has four areas of his body that have what he likes to call “permanent piercings” (lips, collar bones, hips, and ears). This is because he likes to allow fresh piercings to heal up before reopening them over and over again, deriving a morbid sense of pleasure from having the control of choosing what is or isn’t added to his body. Being that he does work in a circus, he can often be found wearing showy make-up around his eyes and all his outfits, for the most part, seem to be based off stereotypical circus wear, but EVERYTHING he owns has the same color pattern of black, white, and blue. Anything other than those three colors is strictly forbidden in his wardrobe.

Personality Haley is a seemingly kind person, always helping those around him and polite no matter what the circumstance. However, this is very much a forced trait, one he’s practiced for years and years to perfect. He acts cheery and is always seen smiling, almost as if the expression is permanent and he’s unable to do anything else. This coupled with the fact that he’s almost impossibly laid-back and is so easy to talk to makes him seem like the perfect person to trust. And, in a way, he is. Because of his never ending quest to perfect his act, he falls into the role of the “good friend” and trustable person completely, never uttering a word of the secrets that are told to him to anyone else. Not only is Haley a prime example of an out-standing citizen, he’s also an exceptional judge of character. But, since all these traits are a farce—aside from that last one—they really can’t be held too highly in one’s mind. On the inside, he’s far less optimistic and can’t help but to allow his darker thoughts to roam free without restraint. After all, if their only in his head, what harm could they cause, right? And, really, it’s incredibly hard to suppress the way you really are with a fake mask all the time! So, here’s a little peak at who Haley really is:
Cold, cruel, and sadistic even, Haley’s true personality is always kept locked up nice and tight. Of course, how long it’ll stay this way remains unknown seeing as the man is finding it harder and harder to keep his grasp on reality as his ever declining sanity continues to flake away day by day. This is an expected after effect of the many experiments he was unwillingly submitted to in his past and he is adamant in refusing for his mind to completely deteriorate until he completes his goal. It’s something that he’s rather desperate to obtain. Despite the fact that he has a hard time keeping up his act of being perfectly healthy mentally from day to day, he still retains the fact to be extremely manipulative and, on a completely insane level, he’s quite the tactician. But, as stated, it’s on a “completely insane level” and therefore anything that he comes up with is almost certain to involve more fatalities and casualties than any plan is worth, so it’s often an over-looked fact, even if there’s more than a 90% chance of success no matter what. This side of Haley isn’t fond of mistakes, either, easily annoyed when something isn’t done to his perfect standards. (“I wouldn’t call myself a perfectionist or anything…I just like things being done right. Preferably the first time!”)

Abilities Years of experimentation have resulted in Haley being mutated beyond human standards. Physically, he appears no different and mentally—back before he began to suffer from any instabilities and therefore tried to hide any of these traits—he seemed to be on the same level as an average person. However, in truth he’s amazingly strong due to his muscles having all hypertrophied and, if not for the fact he has weak stamina, make him a fierce opponent in a fist fight. But, all brawn and no brain makes for a poor combination, so, naturally, he’s a thinker at heart, always planning the appropriate steps to make whatever altercation he’s found himself caught in end as quick as possible. More so than out-right brawls, he’s been engineered for stealth, so much so that he’s even able to control the beating of his heart, making it almost non-existent if need be. (“You never know when you have to fake being dead.”) Haley is also incredibly agile and has a complete awareness of his body and how to maneuver it with the utmost grace and efficiency. Lately he’s gotten the sneaking suspicion that he’s developing telekenesis….but that could just be his mind playing tricks on him, he’s prone to hallucinations, after all.

Weaknesses As stated above, Haley has poor stamina. This is partially due to the fact that he has never had any interest in training himself for better endurance—there’s not much need when you’re strong enough to end a brawl with one punch—and partially because his body isn’t stabilized enough to be compatible with the changes that have been made for it and therefore consumes more energy than is desirable when he relies on his immense strength or agility. Thinking to hard for too long has it’s draw-backs, too, but everyone gets headaches, so he doesn’t find this notable(i. e. he’s hoping that their normal headaches that aren’t anything to worry about, but his paranoia is hard to ignore). Every once in a while, the poor boy’s attention span is so shot, he can barely function on trivial things such as tieing his shoe, much less doing an important task without mishap.

Back story It was dark and raining on the day that Haley was born. Despite the loud claps of thunder that rocked the building, his mother, a name-less, face-less woman that only served to bring him into existence, could still be heard loud and clear as she screamed in agony. But that was to be expected seeing as she had opted to go for the “natural” birthing and there were no foreign substances that could lessen her pain within her body. It took thirteen hours or torturous pain before the woman gave one last push and her screams where replaced not soon after by the wailing of a new-born baby. His mother smiled as the nurse cleaned him off and began wrapping him in a blue blanket, arms already stretching outwards to accept him into a loving embrace as his father stood behind her, beaming at the fact that he was the father of such a fragile, beautiful creature.
But, the nurse didn’t have the chance to hand off the child before the doctor that had made the delivery burst back into the room, the doors slamming shut behind her with in a deafening manner, almost as if foreshadowing the events to come.
“Is something wrong? Is my baby okay, Doctor?!” Frantic as to why the pale woman had reappeared in the room, the mother began throwing hysterical questions at her as the man behind her rubbed her shoulders soothingly in an attempt to calm his wife down. A sweet smile plastered itself on the doctor’s face as she watched the scene unfold before her. Stepping forwards, the room silenced once again so that she could speak, her heels clicking against the floor as she made her way towards the child in the nurse’s arms sounding strangely like the ticking of a clock in the tense room. She lifted the bundle carefully from the woman’s arms. “No, nothing isss wrong with him. He’sss…perfect.” The relief that washed over the tired woman’s face was short lived as she noticed the change in speech patterns that the woman was displaying. Once again, she was filled with worried that something was wrong. This time with the doctor. It was only natural that she would be worried when she’d just had a baby and was on edge that everything around him could cause him harm, so of course her first conclusion was that the doctor was a druggie or something and was trying to hide her slurring. She reached out again, this time with a fierce expression and a demanding tone. “I want to see my baby. Give him to me.”
The mother was met with a blank stare, the doctor’s dark red eyes gazing at her in an almost bored manner before an unnerving smile split her too-pale face in two. “I’m afraid that isssn’t going to happen~” Within the blink of an eye, blood spurted from the woman’s mouth and stomach as a hand was pushed through her. Wide, fear stricken eyes stared up at the doctor as she pulled the appendage out and shook drops of blood off on the floor. Everything after that appeared in slow motion as her husband went to grab either the doctor or the child—she wasn’t sure—and a scalpel embedded itself in his forehead as soon as he was in reaching distance. The nurse, whom she was sure was screaming, though she couldn’t hear anything as if cotton balls had been shoved in her ears, fell to her knees as a hand encircled her throat, squeezing harder and harder. She watched as the poor woman’s eyes began to roll back into her head with a sort of detached amazement. Surely this wasn’t happening? This couldn’t be happening! This wasn’t real, it wasn’t, it wasn’t, it wasn’t!
But it was and, as everything began to darken at the edges of her vision, she watched in horror as the pale woman smiled at the crying child once more before turning and heading back towards the door before everything turned dark and she reached for her baby one last time.
A day later and the news of the Nevermoar’s death was all over the town. Rumors and gossip of every nature spread like wild fire, some people swearing that the wife had an affair and when the baby was born, the father went insane and killed her and then himself in despair, others claimed that the noble family had been involved with dealings of a dark nature and the criminals that they’d been involved with had taken the opportunity to off them. But, no matter what the story, no one seemed to know exactly what happened to the boy.
Sitting back in a comfortable chair, Dr. Von Dracul’s eyes scanned over the article she was currently reading, an amused smirk tugging up her red lips—she was annoyed to have to cover up their natural black with the make-up, but the story in front of her was making the effort well worth it:

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 1809: NOBLES AND AN UNIDENTIFIED NURSE FOUND DEAD IN HOSPITAL, NEVERMOAR INFANT MISSING

A gurgled cry caught her attention and she placed the paper down upon the table next to her before turning and looking at the being that made the noise. Bright, watery blue eyes stared up at her from a carrier that was placed within reaching distance, the small child within it groping the air and continuing to choke out cries as she lifted it from within the safety of its carrier and rocked it gently back and forth, humming lightly to calm it down. Within minutes, the boy was asleep. “What a good child you are, Haley~”

Years passed and the incident was all but forgotten, the missing child thought to be dead, and the perpetrator never found.

Haley smiled widely, sitting in the garden of his home, happily playing with a small toy that his guardian had bought for him at the festival a week ago. A glittering caught his eye and he looked up towards one of the second-floor windows of the manor, catching the woman in her natural form staring back at him, the scales shining so brilliantly upon her form that he had to squint to continue staring at her. It always fascinated him how pretty she looked no matter if her skin looked normal or it she was in her natural form. He stood up and brushed his clothes off before taking off, laughing gleefully like any normal seven year old, quickly running towards the door.
Once inside, he wasted no time in heading for the stairs, ascending them so quickly that he stumbled a time or two in his haste. Turn after turn was taken as he bounced from one corridor to the next before reaching his destination. He stared at the door, the happy expression still lighting up his face as he grasped the handle and jerked it open with all his might, barreling towards the female occupant and wrapping his arms around her waist as best he could as he stood on his tippy-toes. “Reivyn!! Look, I picked this for you!!” Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a flower that was missing a petal or two from being hastily stored away, the stem broken and refusing to hold the bulk of the plant up anymore.
He frowned as he realized he’d broken it, his shoulders slouching and head bowing in apology as he continued to pout before the older being kneeled down and took it from his grasp with a smile. “It’sss very pretty, Haley, but I have a ssssurprissse for you, too…” His head instantly slammed back upwards and he stared at her with expectant eyes, all the trust and admiration that a child could muster swimming in their blue depths…No, not just admiration. Love. “Today, you get to fulfill your purpossse to me~”
…If only he knew then what she meant. It might not have made much of a difference, but it would have helped prepare him. But how prepared can one be when faced with being turned into experimental material?
Staring down at the boy—no, that was wrong, he wasn’t a boy anymore, he was a man—with a calculating gaze, the woman tilted her head as she tapped a finger against the cold, metal table that he was strapped to. It was funny, she mused, that he’d changed so much. Where once a pleading child lay crying, she had a strong adult, glaring at her with contempt and hatred. Did he not realize the gift she was giving him? He was strong and smart and quick. Much more so than the others of his kind. And all because she’d fixed him. No, he didn’t understand, and perhaps her never would. But it didn’t matter. She placed the scalpel that was in her other hand against his chest, pressing the tip down before pausing and lifting it again, a frown now tugging at her lips. But he was used to this. She’d often become indecisive over what hell she was putting him through from one day to the next.
He blinked then as she stepped away, placing the surgical tool back in its proper place and then undid his restraints. She never just let him get up, always made sure he was adequately drugged so that he couldn’t mess up any of his fresh stitches or put too much strain on his body just after it had been altered. His confusion only increased as she headed towards the door, glancing back briefly. “There’sss nothing more that I can do to you.” And without saying anything further to clear up his confusion, she was out the door. If he hadn’t been so shell-shocked by the fact that he’d been set free from the prison he’d been in for so long, he would have chased after her, used the strength she’d given him against her, destroyed her as she’d done him. But she was gone before he made it out the door, even if his stupor hadn’t lasted a full minute.
With a growl, he slammed a fist against the door-frame next to him as he stared at the empty manor after having left the lab in the basement, ignoring the satisfying crack it gave under the force and the way the wall seemed dangerously close to buckling around him with the lack of support.
The entire manor was empty. Oh there was furniture, yes, but everything that had made it seem so homely long ago had been removed. Pictures, drawings, her personal items…they’d all been disposed of. She existed and he had nothing to prove it. But why would he need to prove it? Wouldn’t it be easy to just forget about everything and try to start life anew? No…he couldn’t do that. As much as he hated it, he didn’t know how to live a life without her involved. So the answer was simple. He’d find her. And he’d make her pay. {-viola~ Reason for living AND hating/being against Noire all in one~ ;D}

Facts He hasn’t realized it himself, but the only reason Haley acts so nice to everyone is because it’s just another way to be the opposite of Reivyn.
Haley can be caught staring off into space when he’s alone, having nothing else to occupy his mind but his own thoughts. Alone time hasn’t ever been his friend, but he’s grown more and more attached to being around people because he’s terrified of his own mind and even more so of it slipping away from him, so he uses people as a distraction.

Haley pretends to hate sweet things, but secretly, he keeps a bag full of candy in his pocket at all times.
Beauty is highly valued by the blonde, from art to people (“The gender doesn’t really matter, as long as they’re aesthetically pleasing to me~”). But his standards are terribly high at times that it seems almost impossible to impress him.
People made find it strange that Haley doesn’t want revenge on Reivyn, but he’s well aware of the fact that not only is his mind falling to pieces, but his body is as well. At this point, revenge is nothing short of impossible. Answers aren’t.
The first time Haley met the Ringmaster of Circo Nelle Stelle, he could have sworn he was a child molester…albeit one that was acceptable when it came to his visual standards.
Haley doesn’t make costumes, he only repairs them when they’re damaged, but even so, he takes pride in his work and deeply appreciates it when people compliment him on it.
Haley hates his name, because it was given to him by an awful person, all but his last name, but he’s never bothered to change it because it’s such a strong part of himself. Even after all these centuries, he’s not altered it in the slightest, unlike Reivyn. (He’s beginning to notice why she’s so hard to find.)
