This has come to probably be the reason I only play roms of FE I can't eff them up cause of quicksaves and the like x___x

I've never had issues with that with ROMs, but i have had that with physical cartridges.
Particularly an OLD cartridge of Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya for the GameGear, I'm sure we still have it somewhere. We were always really antsy about playing it because it was notorious to freeze, and for some reason, the only way to make it work again was to blow into the cartridge, and that seemed to erase all of our data. We were convinced at the time, at the least. Game freezes, blow into cartridge, data all missing. Likely the freezing deleted all our data and not blowing into the cartridge, making the contacts respond again, but it was frustrating nonetheless. It usually happened more if we'd removed the game at some point, so when Anna swapped between games once when Tyler was at the final boss for the first time, he was mad pissed. XD
Maybe next time keep a back-up saved elsewhere?

Yeah... I know I should've kept making backup SRAMs (And/Or "USE MORE SNAPSHOTS" (I usually do when I play FE4-- but no, I figured out how to *NOT* have Celice and Yuria's lover points reset to 0 on this run... so I paired them and went back to SRAM saves))... still frustrating as hell... my last alternate SRAM is back on Chapter 6... which means I have to go back to abusing the hell out of Dannan and Bramsel (I was at that for hours the first time!!) to get back to the "OMG L30s in Ch8" that I was pulling. (Full army of L30s in Chapter 9... ._.)

I don't know what you guys are doing to your poor games. The only time I've had a game crash and burn on me was when I intentionally ripped the guts out of the ROM to make it die, and the save file is saved somewhere else. Maybe its your internal batteries, but the batteries in cartridges have typically been very good in the last ten years.

To be fair, that Sword of Hajya game was a GameGear game and this was a problem back when I was 8-10. Now with the magic of ROMs, I have NOTHING TO FEAR~
