Kyung looked one direction than he looked the other. Why oh why did all the tunnels look a like. He decided to look around Mazunguko by himself which was a mistake. The pride was literally a giant maze. He wondered how anyone was able to make it through the pride without getting lost. It must have taken years of experience, he decided as he looked around for someone to help him. He would have called out by now, but he was afraid he would look weak to the other members. He only wanted to ask one member to help him so only one member thought he was weak.

He decided to go left and he made his way down the tunnel. He missed his mother and his brothers and even his sisters. He wondered how they were doing. He found himself lucky that he found Mazunguko when he was separated from them. He constantly worried about them, but he knew they would be fine. To be honest he was more worried about himself being able to survive without them. Everyone in the pride seemed nice so far, but that didn't change how scared he was.

He managed to reach a place where diggers were working on the tunnels. All of the diggers seemed hard at work. Kyung watched them for a moment before deciding to leave. He didn't want to disturb them while they were hard at work. Instead he would find someone else to help him out. Hopefully someone not busy. It was his last wish to be a burden to someone who was busy with their own job.

It had been a pretty productive day for Ijara to say the least. After the council meeting, he had been asked to join the diggers in a new tunnel they had begun work on. It really had been all to long since he had felt the dirt between his paws and he did not realize how much he missed it. He chatted with brothers of his old crew, they asked how he was doing up with the council and just how he was doing in general. It was nice to feel this camaraderie once more. Admittedly, he had not had someone to talk to in his new position since the previous king had left and he was beginning to think that Nahasi... did not care to much for his presence.

Unfortunately, he had to leave to attend to some council work. It was with heavy heart and earth covered fur that he bid farewell to his brothers and turned to leave when he spotted the small ball of black fur. What was a cub doing this far in the tunnels? Only the diggers working this area (and himself) knew the tunnels well enough not to get lost yet. Those questions were pushed aside when he saw the dirt pile next to the cub shifting, threatening to bury the little one. Putting on a quick burst of speed, he picked the cub up by the scruff of his neck and moved away just as the pile fell over. Calls went up, asking if everyone was okay and there were all answers of affirmative. Ijara moved a bit further away from the digging site and sat the cub down.

"Are you unharmed?"

Kyung didn't even notice the pile of dirt falling. It was lucky that the leopard saved him in time. His heart was racing and he took breath after breath trying to slow it down. He looked at his savor and gave a weak smile. If it wasn't for him Kyung would have probably been crushed by now. he wondered who his the leopard was. For now though he was thankful just to be alive an unhurt.

He nodded his head to the question and than looked down at the ground a little embarrassed. The leopard could have easily gotten hurt and it would have been his fault. He gave the leopard a quick glance to see if he was hurt any. It didn't look like he had any injuries. "Are you okay," he asked in his quiet voice, not looking at the leopard in the face, but instead looking down.

"I am sorry to cause you so much trouble." He looked around for some place to go. He shouldn't bother this leopard any more. There were probably lots of task he had to do and Kyung didn't want to get in the way.

He nodded, almost a mirror of the cubs own, as he double checked to make sure if the cub was truly okay.

"Yes I am fine. Though I am more concerned with you at the moment." Finding no wounds on the cub he gave a small nod to himself. That dirt pile most likely would have only mildly injured him, but it could have seriously hurt the cub. Ijara shook his head at the cubs next statement.

"You were no trouble, I am just glad that you are uninjured." He remembered his earlier questions from when he first spotted the cub. "The tunnels down here are still far to new for Brotherhood use yet. It is quite easy for those who are not diggers to become lost. I can walk you back your den if you'd like. I was just about to head back up so it would be no bother."

Kyung looked worriedly at the leoaprd. "Are- are you sure?" he said. "I think I could find my way eventually. I mean I don't want to be a burdon." He was releaved though that someone was going to help him. He knew he would have been stuck down in the tunnels for a long time if the leopard didn't help him. He gave the leopard another weak grin before following him.

"My name is Kyung by the way." he spoke quieter than a whisper. He knew his name wasn't too important, but it might be helpful for the leopard to know it. No one in the pride knew his name yet. To be honest this leopard was the first member of the pride he had spoken to since arriving. He didn't know anyone else. While he wondered the pride he saw others his own age and was close to joining them, but than he became scared that they wouldn't like him.

He was deathly scared that others would dislike him or even hate him. He felt useless most of the time and even when he had a little use he felt like he was the weak link. The feelings hurt him so much and he could never figure out how to get rid of it. He did his best, telling himself that he was perfect the way he was, but in the end he would remember all his negative traits.

"What do you do in the pride?" he asked curiously, wondering about the different ranks in the pride. He really wanted to find one that was perfect for him when he was older. Something that he could do well. A job where others might actually look up at him for doing.

"I am indeed quite sure. I am glad to be of service young one. As I said, the tunnels can be quite confusing if you are not a digger, more so for the newer ones like these." He gestured to the surrounding walls. "You would be no burden, it would be my pleasure."

He began to lead them toward the nearest main juncture when the cub told him his name. "It is very nice to meet you Kyung, my name is Ijara. I do not believe I have seen your name on the brotherhood's member list. Are you new to Mazunguko?"

He stopped at the juncture. "Now Kyung, I will gladly answer your question about my roll in the Brotherhood, but first I must ask you, where am I to lead you to? The mother's den?"

"So diggers made these tunnels." He looked around in awe. He wondered why anyone would ever want to make a maze like this. Was it some sort of defense or did they do it for fun? As they walked he looked around amazed at the structure. He would never want to be a digger. It seemed dangerous and he could get lost so easily. There must be a better job for him some where in the pride.

He nodded his head to Ijara's question. "I got lost, outside Mazunguko and a guard found me. he brought me here." He said quietly, remembering the incident. It was a terrifying day for him though he was glad to be safe.

"To the mother's den." he repeated. The females were awfully nice to him, but he wanted to explore Mazu more and so he left them. They didn't seem to mind him exploring, though he sorta wished they would have stopped him. "The mother's there are very nice." He pointed out, though he was talking more to himself. "Was your mother here?"

He looked at Ijara curiously. A lot of questions were swimming in his mind. He wondered what type of leopard his brave savior was. He seemed so confident and sure of himself. Something that he himself lacked. Maybe he could learn the secret of his confidence.

Ijara gave a small smile to the cub. He remembered when he was young and had marveled at the walls as well. "Yes, the diggers expand the tunnels so the pride can accommodate more as well as hunt for more water sources. They also maintain the tunnels and serve as guides for those unfamiliar with them. Be they guests of the pride or even brothers who do not travel some parts as much."

He gave a thoughtful look as Kyung told him how he was found by the pride. "Well I do hope you are able to feel at home here with the Brotherhood, do you have any questions that I might be able to answer for you, or places that you would like to visit? If you ever need anything, ask one of the guards near the Mother's den to show you to me. Tell that I said it was quite alright. But I might be a bit busy, so you may have to wait a small bit if that is acceptable?"

He gave the cub a curious look when he inquired about his mother, but gave a small nod and replied. "My mother was here for a short time. Her and my father arrived here while she was with child. I was the only child she bore and she unfortunately passed away not to long after that. My father followed soon after that, so I was also raised by the Mother's den."

Kyung nodded his head. Diggeres seemed to be very important in the pride. He couldn't imagine being a guest here and not having a guide to lead him. Than he realized he really did know what that was like. He let out a giggle, but he stopped almost as quickly.

"I am a little tired." He let out a yawn as he spoke and walked a little slower. "Will, will you show me around tomorrow? I would very much like that." He said quietly, but quickly. He was a little embarrassed to ask the favor, but he wanted very much to know more about the pride and see more of it.

"I am sorry for your lose." He hung his head downwards. That was something he had no idea what it was like. To lose a family member. It must be a terrible thing he decided. "I don't know what happened to my family." He said honestly. He started feeling more comfortable around Ijara, feeling like he could talk to him. He hoped that Ijara would seek him out again so they could finish their talk.

As the cub's last sentence faded, they drew near where the Mother's den was located. He gave a nod to the guards near the entrance who gave a dip of their heads in recognition.

He thought about what he had scheduled tomorrow and realized that after the council meeting he was free for the rest of the day. "I do have a previous engagement earlier in the day, but I after that I would be honored to give you your proper tour of your home. I will come and pick you up here around mid after noon. It was a pleasure meeting you Kyung, welcome to the Brotherhood." He turned to walk away after a polite head-dip before he remembered something.

"Oh yes, your earlier question. About my obligations in the pride. I serve our king, Lord Nahasi, on the council as representative of the diggers. If you ever need assistance, please, do not hesitate to ask the guards to escort you to me. They will know where I am." With another polite bow he left to return to his den to clean himself before his meeting with Lord Nahasi.
