Welcome to Daredevil Island!

User Image

Congratulations! You have been invited to a 2 week stay at Daredevil Island! If you have no idea what Daredevil Island is, don’t beat yourself up or consider yourself dumb. It is a recently discovered island in the tropics that just finished building an island resort for tourists. There are plenty of things to do here on Daredevil Island, such as sightseeing, snorkeling, surfing, and everything else needed to attend to your relaxation needs. There are also contests and competitions you may enter to test your skills against the other tourists, such as limbo and volleyball. The beauty of the island itself is not like any other, with plenty of wonderful sites of nature to see, like our beaches, forests, and the underwater fishes. If the great outdoors doesn’t suit you, our island resort has a spa with the finest equipment and people ready to attend your needs, as well as an indoor pool, tennis court, bowling, and much more. We hope to see you soon, and to have a vacation you will never forget!

The Dreadful Secret

User Image

Now here is what the ad doesn’t tell you about this island. It is the resting place of an ancient lost treasure known as Solstice. Rumors of Solstice is that it is a cavern filled with gold, jewels, and many more priceless items that are immeasurable in quantity and quality. It can bring shame even to the wealthiest of the wealthy today. The owner of the Daredevil Island Resort sent the invitations to the island not out of goodwill, but to bring curious tourists to the island to help him find the lost treasure in the form of a scavenger hunt event. The scavenger hunt is meant to bring together the items required to the open the path to the cavern that will lead to Solstice. A famed treasure hunter seeks the treasure of Solstice as a matter of pride rather than keeping the riches to him/herself, and happens to be invited to the island, sneaking in his two friends the navigator and the medic. In addition, the parents of the famed treasure hunter were murdered by the owner of the island, so he/she has a grudge against the owner. Taking the treasure right from the owner’s nose would be a perfect revenge. However, problems arise for the treasure hunter as a rival treasure hunter enters the scene, hired by the owner himself, with a small army at his/her disposal to find the treasure themselves, or kill whoever finds the treasure first. These two treasure hunters have been at each other’s throats since they first came across each other, where the rival treasure hunter betrayed the famed treasure hunter, yet the famed treasure hunter still acquired the treasure in the end. However, there are legends of Solstice being cursed, and many explorers and hunters mysteriously disappeared trying to find the treasure. Will the same happen to the famed treasure hunter, along with his friends and enemies? And what secrets does the treasure of Solstice hold?

Behind The Treasure

User Image

Sparta, one of the ancient and most powerful cities of Greece, was heavily favored by the gods. Many Spartan soldiers trained since birth, built for the sole purpose of combat and domination, and won many battles and riches. Over time, these riches have accumulated to the point that they can no longer hold it within their own city. Under the rule of King Agesilaus, the best of Spartan soldiers seek for a place where they can store the riches they accumulated so none of the other cities can find them. The soldiers set sail with the riches, consisting of gold, jewels and other priceless items collected from the battle sites they won, and found an island now called Daredevil Island. Upon landing, the soldiers made their way to a cavern on the island and began stashing the riches, as well as setting up ingenious traps for trespassers. One curious soldier explored the deepest parts of the cavern and stumbled upon something he shouldn’t have. As he ran back towards his friends, he was pulled back into the shadows of the cavern, and then returned as an abomination. The soldiers began running for their lives, many of them losing their lives sealing the cavern using three items blessed by the three strongest Gods of Greece: The Thunderbolt of Zeus, Trident of Poseidon, and Hade’s Helm of Darkness. The surviving soldiers made it off the island once the seal was complete, and went home. After telling the king what happened, and how they can never return to the island or recover the riches, they were executed believing them to be traitors. Later on, Sparta fell to Thebes in the Battle of Leuctra, and their treasures believed to be forever lost as well as the God’s favoritism over them…

Rules of the Island

User Image

1) As the mastermind of this RP, whatever I say goes. You can love it or hate it, but that’s the way it is. There is no democracy, only dictatorship.
2) Keep in mind all Gaia and Guild rules as you RP. You heard this before plenty of times, so you know how important they are.
3) Romance is something that I encourage, but there are two things that are not allowed. First love and cybering. Crushes are okay, but don’t act on them right away. Wait until after a series of events, or at least the first 15 pages go by. If Gaia is not okay with cybering, either am I. Use timeskips or PMs, but it will not happen in my RP.
4) All profiles are to be PMed to Yuri_Misawa. Anyone else would be a waste of your time. They are to be titled Dream Treasure as proof that you read the rules. I accept reservations for roles, but a profile must be submitted within three days of reservation. If no profile is sent to me three days after reservation, I will open the position again, you will not be allowed to reserve for a full day. Also, I like to see an Rp sample you’re your profile following rule number 5.
5) When posting, be sure to be literate and not to have any one liners. The minimum I will accept is 2 paragraphs, but more is always better. Literacy means correct grammar, not using symbols to signal actions, and no text talk. If your character is talking, use quotation marks. If there are actions, just describe the action the best way you can. Also, try to describe your surroundings; you’re character feelings, anything that can make the reader imagines themselves in your character’s shoes. Finally, please use your character's pic and your posting color when posting, but no huge picture that stretches the page WAY TOO MUCH.
6) For the available roles, I split them up for 6 boys and 6 girls to be in it. First come first serves for who gets male and female roles. Once a certain amount of boys or girls fill up, then I will only ask for the remaining gender roles.
7) OOC with either brackets or parentheses. Meaning you must use ((this)) or [this] or {this}. Whatever that you can use to enclose and separate your character from yourself. And please, be nice with whatever you have to say outside the RP.
8 ) Godmodding kills a good RP, so please don't do it. It doesn't matter how much of an expert your character is at guns or hand to hand combat, he/she is not invincible.
9) Tourists and Employees are free to decide whether or not they can become evil or good from the beginning. However, the protagonists (Famed Treasure Hunter, Navigator, Medic) and antagonists (Corrupt Owner, Rival Treasure hunter and his/her assistants) must start in their respective roles, but can switch sides later. Just depends on your point of view to add to the drama and suspense.
10) In order to kill a character, you must receive permission from the owner of the character. Then send me a PM that proves that you discussed this matter with the owner of the soon to be dead character, and I will allow this happen.
11) Please be courteous to your fellow role players. If they do something you don't like that is part of their character, get mad at the character, not at them.
12) Going to the profile skeleton. I may add in new parts to it before the RP starts. After the RP starts, I won't make any more changes, but before then, if there is something you want to add to your profile that is not part of the skeleton, you can do that so long its nothing obscene.

I look good don’t I?

User Image

My identity is what I value most:

Miyo Tanaka

I've had people call me this:

Moka Latay (Or Mocha. Navigator loves to call me that, especially when I'm drinking a Mocha)

It’s been this long since I’ve been alive:

23

It should be obvious but:

Female

This is my job:

Famed Treasure Hunter

If you’re this, then you’re my type:

Heterosexual

Size doesn't count...:

101 lbs

Can't help being short/tall:

5'5

You can't beat me at these:

Free running, expert marksman, critical thinking, adequate at hand to hand combat

This is my behavior:

I’m a wild spirit, much like a mustang out in the open plains. I’m always open to explore new places so long as my curiosity allows me. I’m also a party animal of sorts, so you can find me late at night with a drink just acting crazy. However, I know when it is time to get serious, such as trying to get to the treasure I’m after. It leads me to be rational and think things through, but I can also be irrational if my friends are endangered, or my enemies are doing something I cannot allow to happen. Speaking of my enemies, I tend to act like a smart aleck with them just to annoy them, although a simple gun to my face can stop that. I can also be a bit of a flirt from time to time, and it gets worse when I'm drunk.

You give me this, I’ll be happy:

Treasure, Martini, Vacation, Men, Punk Rock, Volleyball, Mocha Lattes

I beat you to death if you give me these:

Snakes, Insects, Spiders, Lightning, Betrayal, Giving up something valuable, Having a gun pointed at me

This is my history:

Let me tell you this, life is fun when you’re born in a family of treasure hunters. My parents were the best in the world, extremely wealthy as a result of the treasures the accumulated. They didn’t keep the treasures, just gave it to their clients for a price. I wasn’t spoiled as a kid, but I did get taught certain tricks from the family trade that later helped me out. My father Mori Tanaka taught me how free run, use fire arms, and hand to hand combat. My mother Amy Tanaka taught me how to use my brain efficiently, like thinking outside the box when confronted with an obstacle. These obstacles ranged from getting to the cookie jar on the top shelf to finding where my parents hid my birthday presents. When I turned 15, my mother passed away from cancer, and later I witnessed my own father get murdered a year later by a client of his.

With both my parents dead, and no other family relatives, I lived on the streets for 2 years. The streets taught me how to take of myself, but I got saved by (Navigator). He/she got me off the streets, and further developed my skills as a treasure hunter. Later on, we picked up (Medic), and together we pulled off jobs for clients in acquiring priceless artifacts and treasures. I even ended up making an enemy with a former temporary partner (Rival Treasure hunter), and to this day I try my best to avoid him since he/she wants my head on a platter. It wasn’t enough though, because I needed to finish something my father started. He was close to finding the treasure Solstice, and the only clue that was left after the client who killed him was the locket he gave me. It contained a passage written by Zeus, which pinpointed to Daredevil Island. Fortunately I received an invitation to the island, but the owner was the same person who killed my father. I can only hope that he doesn’t realize who I am…for both our sakes.

Locales

Daredevil Resort: The first place tourists go to check into their rooms. It keeps to the tropical theme with the quality of the 5 star hotel services. The spa is highly famed, but you may also spend time in the indoor pool, tennis court, basketball court, bowling, or go to the arcade.

Outdoor Pool: For those who love the sun, but hate the sand, we also have an outdoor pool area. The shape of the pool itself is rectangular, and the water level ranging from 3 to 14 feet. There is also a bar, two Jacuzzi's, and a small pool for infants. Towels provided are complimentary.

Crowded Beach: The beach right in front of the resort where most of the tourists go to. As a warning, the sand is a little hot since the sun strikes that area the most, but the water is quite cool. It may be difficult to find a good spot to relax, so it is recommended to wake up early. On the bright side, not too many dangerous animals hang around here. Small vendors are located throughout the area for tourists to come eat and drink. On Wednesdays, a small grill is set up providing freshly grilled items of the tropics.

Quiet Beach: The beach on the other side of the island past the forest. Its much more tranquil than the beach by the resort, and the sand cooler. However, there have been shark sightings in the area, and animals from the forest tend to lurk about as well, so come here at your own risk. Other than that, the breeze here is wonderful.

Forest: The jungle part of the island, though one must be warned when wandering around here. It is actually recommended that you don't come here without a tour guide. Many dangerous wildlife animals live here, and none of them take kindly to humans. Also, their have been traps laid around, and most of them can cause traumatic deaths. The forest itself is a thing of beauty, containing so many wild flowers, large trees to climb on, and anything that can be turned into a nice post card.

Offshore Island: A small island about 10 miles away from Daredevil Island is an ideal location for snorkeling/scuba diving. The water is crystal clear, the sand on the beach white as snow, and luscious green trees makes it all breathtaking. Fish of all sizes and colors can be found underwater.

Restricted Areas : There are two areas in Daredevil Island that are restricted from the guests, the north section of the forest, and the west side of the resort. In these areas are the owner's personal trained army bases, filled with soldiers, guns and data of their latest discoveries on the island. Some of the soldiers are disguised as employees of the resort, mainly security guards.

Waterfall : A waterfall whose height equals to that of a 10 story building. The rushing waters from atop the cliff of the waterfall collect in a large pool of water, which is connected to a narrow river. It is a part of the forest area, and sometimes animals come here for a drink of water or feasting on tourists.

The Journey Begins

The story starts right when small private jet just landed near the ocean shore (it’s one of those water jets). Here, the Famed Treasure Hunter, Navigator, Medic, and the three other tourists are dropped off and can begin their vacation. Another jet will land on the opposite side of the island, where the Rival Treasure Hunter and his assistants will appear. They will be the first to visit the Corrupt Owner in his resort. The Tourists are responsible for their choices, such as whether or not they get involved with the treasure hunt, and which sides they pick. The same goes for the Employees. When the scavenger hunt is announced on the night of the first day, the owner must include the prizes that are available. There are only two prize and the winner has to pick one. He/she can choose to win a $1,000,000 or unlimited visitation to the island.
