Alright so I remember talking with you ages ago about starting up a fantasy based roleplay. At least I think it was based on the folder I finally found that held all the notes I had been putting together in order to try and get all my ideas down before they were forgotten. :3
Anyway, I was hoping you could help me with it. Fill in any gapes and the like. I'm really excited about it, and I really hope you will be too! It's basically a place where people who are lost can go to find solace and live in peace among others who have also lost themselves. All kinds are welcome of course, humans, ghosts, vampires, shape-shifters, and so on.
So, without further ado this is what I have so far.
The House of the LostAbout the House: The House of Lost is a large, Victorian Era hotel that is situated hours from the nearest city. It is nestled in a vast field that is surrounded by dense forest. The only way onto the grounds is by a single long and winding dirt road that connects to a stretch of highway that doesn't get much traffic anyway.
Due to the isolated nature of the hotel grounds, it is 'stuck in time'. It does not flaunt modern technology or decor, even though it exists in present time. There are no cellphones, no TVs, no internet. Once you step into the House, you step back in time.
Despite the fact that it is so off the beaten path, the House is heavily guarded. There are Day Guards, Night Guards, a Gatekeeper, a 13th Floor Guard, and a Head of Security. This caution may seem a bit much to newcomers, but House Staff assure that it's 'better to be safe than sorry'.
The first floor includes a lobby, sun room, dining hall, ball room, kitchen, recreational room/bar, a pool, and a room of requests. All floors between two and twelve house the residents based on race. The thirteenth floor? Oh, that's where the owner resides. Constantly watching over the grounds and residents. Ensuring everyone is kept happy and most of all safe. Though the stairs are walled-off, the only entrance being a door in the hidden door that only appears when a special string of words is uttered. Of course it isn't very hidden because the guard gives it away without much thought. Entrance is only admitted to those who have sent a request, though usually the owner will make a means to meet you elsewhere. The basement? Of course! This is where the staff stays when they aren't "on the clock". They are the only ones allowed access here and the owner is the only other person other than the staff who has a key.
About the House Grounds: The House isn't the only thing in the massive field and surrounding forest. A few minutes of past the back of the hotel, following a small gravel path, leads you to the graveyard. The Staff is quite fond of this area, as they keep it well kept and well lit with lanterns at night. It is also a place of rest and relaxation. Many residents enjoy afternoons and evenings sitting on the stone benches scattered through throughout the graves, simply to admire the beauty of the headstones, statues, and mausoleums.
Not far from the graveyard lies the Gravekeeper's room, a small wooden shack. It may seem small, but it's quaint and comfortable!
If you follow the worn path past the graveyard, it eventually leads to the forest. Not many people venture into the woods, but those who do will, after a few minutes of walking, come across a small lake and lake house. The lake house is locked and can only be entered with the permission and accompaniment of the owner.
There is an island at the center of the lake, but residents are forbidden to venture to it. It is too far to swim, and others find themselves repelled from the island.
Other/Rules: 1. Leaving the grounds is frowned upon. The Staff prefers to keep the House low key... and visits should be made only during the Holidays unless a request is made and excepted once again by the owner.
2. Other rules to be added, just haven't made it all that far yet. xD
Let me know what you think, I'm really excited to get this rolling!
Also, let me know if you have any ideas!
