marzipancakes this thread is confusing me because i keep seeing, basically, "we're doing it to get healthy" and then "we're doing it to lose weight" and then "we're doing it to get healthy" again. xD WHICH IS IT ....how isn't it obvious that it's both i want to lose weight so that i'm healthier/i want to be healthier so that i lose weight goes kind of hand in hand there

KT Queen of Knots wait can i drink unsweetened iced tea instead of green tea/water? only because i hate green tea and water hurts going down my throat for some reason? Green tea has some health benefits that regular tea doesn't. Like it can help you feel less bloated and it can help increase your metabolism. I used to hate all teas but some of the flavored green teas are yummy, especially with a tiny bit of sugar (I use Splenda lol).
Also yay Lux! 4laugh Keeping to a healthy diet is hard but it's a good choice.
Of course, I just ordered some Girl Scout cookies (because I feel more obligated than usual to help the Girl Scouts this year). But when I get them, I vow to not eat more than one serving in a day!

marzipancakes but weight =/= health 98% of the time i'm not a healthy weight, therefore i am not healthy. that is what this is based off of, although once i reach a healthy weight i'll try to continue this.

seriously your weight has almost nothing to do with your health. idk why this is such a common misconception.
i'm considered obese and am perfectly healthy. there are people who are the "idea" weight or whatever who are not.
although every doctor will argue the fact due to being misinformed for the last FOREVER, there is no healthy or unhealthy WEIGHT.

That's not true, since an unhealthy weight in either direction can lead to health complications. And weight can sometimes be an indicator of an unhealthy lifestyle, especially when you're gained or lost weight suddenly. So uh. The two might not go hand in hand for you, but they do for a lot of people.

Mary it's great that you're okay with your body, but excess body fat can make joint issues, back pain, and other internal problems as well, as well as the sort of foods that made you gain the weight often can lead to issues with heart attacks and other things. I feel like you're just ignoring that/forgetting that because you want to focus on it being okay to be whatever weight you want to be. I know that I'm overweight, and I know that when I lose weight I feel physically better. I hurt less, I get less bloated, I get less headaches, and whether all or any of those are due to the weight being lifted away or the lifestyle changes that made the weight lift away, they're interconnected.
I hope that I did not come across as offensive to you in any way because I didn't mean to be if I was.

Not offended. But any weight can lead to complications. Any weight can cause any of those problems, and then some. As long as you take care of yourself, weight isn't that much of a factor. Not everyone gains weight because of food - some people are just naturally fat, and then there are people who are naturally think who eat like s**t. Someone who's fat and eating like s**t is unhealthy because of their eating habits, not because of their weight. Same as someone who's thin.
