So, I know it's only two months til ME3's release, but as I'm sure many of you all are doing as well, I'm playing yet another character in order to tweak out some of the different potential effects certain decisions, military backgrounds, and origins will have in the final title. However, I've begun to notice that, between the first two titles, there are certain facts and events that have been ignored, or have materialized out of the vacuum.
For example, I played a "Sole Survivor" type, who in ME1 had to confront Corporal Toombs and share a very dark memory of the Thresher Maw attack. Toombs then reveals that Cerberus was behind it all and kept him restrained in order to perform tests and experiments. Now, after transferring said character into ME2, right near the beginning where Jacob and Miranda are gauging Shep's memory, Jacob asks about akuze and the attack. He then responds to Shep's answer with, "You were the only survivor." eek
That's one example of canon fails that I've noticed. I'm wondering if anyone else caught something similar during ME2. I'd also like for everyone to keep an eye out for such things in ME3 (gods forbid).

It's possible that Jacob and Miranda weren't in the Science division of Cerberus. Or at least, not the division that was handling the Akuze attack. Since every Cerberus group is independent and they can't even identify other agents (or so EDI says I believe?) they might think that Shepard is the only survivor.
I don't mean to rain on your parade or anything! Just offering a reason why it could be.
I'm sure there are quite a few inconsistencies in the games, since they've just got so much to keep track of!

The same thing happened to me too. It was the same type of situation, and later on, through the emails you get sent by people you met in ME1, you get one from him. I had to laugh at that rofl . But it's possible that Miranda and Jacob weren't filled in about it.

The Popinator It's possible that Jacob and Miranda weren't in the Science division of Cerberus. Or at least, not the division that was handling the Akuze attack. Since every Cerberus group is independent and they can't even identify other agents (or so EDI says I believe?) they might think that Shepard is the only survivor. I get what you mean, and that is a likely answer. However, if Cerberus really has kept track of Shep as intimately as they claim, wouldn't such a thing have been noted somewhere in Shep's dossier?
Additionally, Bioware certainly remembered Toombs and Akuze, cuz on Omega/The Citadel/Illium, there's a newscast about the trial following the confrontation. And, as our friend Phaea just pointed out,Phaea The same thing happened to me too. It was the same type of situation, and later on, through the emails you get sent by people you met in ME1, you get one from him. All I'm asking is if anyone else has seen an inconsistency, not for a debate as to why these things were missed or how they can be justified. I just wanna make a li'l collection of bloopers, if ya get my meaning. blaugh
