Jared raised his hands, laughing at the family's outburst. "It is exactly because he is like that, that i fell in love with him." he looked over at the confused Riku and smiled gently. "Ever heard of P. Publishing? or the Popo Resorts? they are both owned by my father's company, and eventually, when he retires, it shall be owned and run by me. oh-we resently merged with the St. Luke's hospital chain so we own those as well." he shrugged, "as the heir i am expected to act a certain way, to do maintain the family's good reuptation and to always be at the top of the school. they are gone a lot and the only time i see them together is charities and functions like that. in truth i kind of envy what you have here, Riku. i haven't sat down to a meal with my parents since i was eight years old." he smiled and moved right along, not caring to dwell on that, "what i find so charming about you, Riku, is your willingness to show just exactly who you are without fear or worry of the effects it might have on others."

Jared inclined his head, "Thank you for the offer, but that would depend entirely upon Riku. i don't want to rush things," he looked at Riku and smiled, "especially at first. though i'd like to spend the night with you, i don't expect it and will completely understand if you want some space." he stood to gather the now empty dishes and walked them to the sink so he could wash and put them away like he'd promised he would. he was glad they didn't treat him any different after they'd found out about his family. most people sort of freaked out and treated him like some kind of god, or they tried to get close to get him to buy them things. Riku came from a good family, yet another thing that Jared envied him for

Jared smiled when Riku joined him to dry the dishes, "Thanks for the help. i was thinking i'd have to go through all the cupboards just to find where things go. you're help will speed things along." he wasn't sure if he should ask if he coudl stay the night or not. Riku didn't seem too adverse to it, but at the same time he thought it was moving a little too fast too soon. "Riku, do you want me to spend the night. i understand if you don't, ok?"

Jared nodded and was glad that it really was ok, he himself never having slept over at a friend's house before. he was a little sad to hear that he'd be using an air mattress and not sharing Riku's bed, but he could live with that. when the dishes were done, Riku told him to go wait in his room and he smirked before stealing a kiss from the red head and doing as he was told. he sat down on Riku's bed and debated looking for more notebooks or not. he decided not to since he didn't want to be caught and have to give up the one already in his possession.

Jared nearly jumped for joy when he was told they would be sharing a bed. he didn't say anything about it, knowing that Riku was uncomfortable about it. when it was time for bed, he didn't have anything to change into, so he simply stripped down to his boxers. yes, they were soon to be going out and it was their first time together, but they were both guys. being together like this wouldn't be that big of a deal. and he'd keep his hands to himself. That didn't mean he wasn't going to snuggle. "he sorry i don't have any sleeping clothes to change into, this is ok, right?"

Jared lay down and smiled gently, letting Riku settle down and relax before he carefully moved over and held the other. "i'm not trying anything, i promise." he whispered, "but your bed's not big enough to not snuggle."

Jared muttered unhappily in his sleep, a dream having caught him in it's dark hold. but he flet Riku move closer to him and press against him and the dream eased, waking Jared from his sleep with a small start. "oh-" he closed his eyes and took a small breath to calm himself before he looked down at Riku with a small smile. the other was awake as well, "morning"
