Goose bumps formed along his arms as she brushed his bangs and touched his cheek. That had to be a side affect of this wine beverage... His skin was a little colder than it should have been, yet not clammy. It was almost as if he had been standing outside in the cold air before coming in.

"It is not so much the headache as the inability to remember what had taken place..." Xero admitted.

His brows furrowed at the sight of her concern. He could never understand why she doubted herself so. She was perfect as she was. He could not have hoped for a more perfect being to be standing before him... Xero's mind trailed a moment before he returned to the issue at hand.

"My Prisca, I believe you are most capable of reading into my mind. There would be no sacrifice..." The slip in tongue was not noticed. "However, I will not force you to do a task you do not wish to."

The female Mewtwo settled back down to the ground. She was by means a small woman, but it seemed all the men she was meeting were taller than her. She disliked standing on solid ground besides them. Always looking up. As if she didn't already feel a lesser being with her weaker powers.

"You remember nothing?" Prisca asked a little sadly before she could stop herself. Her arms went behind her back, one resting on top of the other as she gazed up at him with her lids half closed at the tilt of her head. "I remember the whole night, up until the point you left me. I haven't heard anything about that today, so I wouldn't worry too much. Couldn't have been anything major."

Letting her head drop, she moved around him, grabbing his hand in the process to steer him towards the bed she could see.

"If you're that bothered by it, I can try. If you want to see last night with your own eyes."

Xero's brow furrowed at the disappointment in her voice. Something had to have happened and Prisca's reaction made it even more frustrating that he could not remember anything about the previous night. What a way to repay a woman for saving one's life.

"You... likely had nothing to do with the hole in my ceiling or the ash and burns in my clothing..." Xero couldn't help but feel a little relieved that she was not present for what ever caused those clues to appear in his home.

As they reached the room the air became 'heavy' in a sense. It seemed to tug at the bottom of one's heart and it feeling as though it were wading through a tar pit. Most of the hole Xero had mentioned was patched up, but it was still obvious a hole was once there. Debris, to include the ash, was still scattered about beneath the now mostly sealed hole.

The mirror on the wall opposite the balcony was still in as poor of shape as it was when Prisca had fist seen it. Even with the reflection so murky it still seemed as though it was watching them closely.

Xero ignored this as he followed Prisca to the bed. "I would like to remember what had taken place, if you do not mind Ms. Prisca. It bothers me to feel as if something important had happened yet not be able to recall what it was..."

The sensitivity to changes in air and auras that was common of her type made Prisca pause slightly at the doorway to the room. Why was it she always seemed to be experiencing things in this house she didn't want to, every time she visited? The first few visits held nothing special. Unless one wished to count the illusion of the nameless woman that one time when the man was sick. Creepy it was, but it didn't hold the same unnerving atmosphere as this house seemed to as of late. Ever since the fight, really. Like something was still lingering around.

Ignoring it for now, the woman continued to tug Xero towards the bed, letting go when they were close enough to it. Something soft was best to sit on at a moment like this. Not standing.

"It was only last night," came the softer response than usual, more as if Prisca was trying to reassure herself. Just last night. Prodding a memory with memories so close to the surface like that couldn't be that harmful, right? Even for someone inexperienced.

"Sit, then," she commanded a little louder, in her usual tone of voice. "I can't deny your worried and pretty face something."

A lot of things could have happened in one night. Her voice may bring some peace, but the words were not reassuring. Prisca never did think any worse of him no matter what he had done... Xero's brows furrowed again, but not for long.

Almost on cue Xero took a seat on the bed than looked up to Prisca with a raised brow. Both hands rest on his lap. A slight pinkish hue appeared on his cheeks and the tips of his long ears. This time he didn't blame anything, just found himself staring at Prisca. ...Pretty face?

He cleared his throat after a moment. "I am ready when you are."

The next step would be to relax, clear the mind, and ignore the fact that the scar engraved on his hand started to itch and tingle again.

The sight of the mighty Mewtwo of Legend sitting at her command brought a small giggle to her lips that she tried to stifle out of politeness. Everyone looking for him in the past went missing. He'd never bend the knee to anyone. Yet it seemed he possessed the same weaknesses as any man? That was amusing and almost brought another chuckle from her throat, which she managed to hide better with a hand over her mouth, glancing away from him for a few seconds.

He was lucky Prisca wasn't a cruel woman. Or she'd be testing this to see how far she could take him.

Still not looking at him, the woman sat down besides him, resting the urge to grab for Xero's hand by folding her fingers together in her lap. With a deep breath against her nerves over more causing him pain with her inexperience than him finding out about last night.

Looking back at the man, she smoothed out her skirts in her nervous habit. "I won't dwell in too deeply." With that, she shifted in her seat so her knee was poking the side of his thigh, one leg pulled up onto the bed so she could face him as much as possible. Then she closed her eyes and slowly forced her way through his subconscious.

Xero still could not explain why he always felt so compelled to do what she told him to. He dwelled once on the idea that it was due to his fear of loosing companionship. The idea was discarded.

He took a deep breath and relaxed his mind as best as he could, but even he couldn't have prepared for what happened next...

As soon as Prisca begun to dig into his mind random memories begun to flow as if someone had cracked a dam holding them back. It would be like a swirl of color than fast moving visions of tamers being engulfed in flame or being torn apart by some invisible force. The next moment they were of burning laboratories and collapsing buildings. After that a glimpse of a small growlith near death followed by the darkness of a forest and than different moments with Prisca. Up until the memories with Prisca the emotions connected to the memory were all anger, hatred and a small bit of regret. After there was a subtle sense of belonging and a very strong attachment to any memory where she was present. Mingled in the memories were brief, no more than a split second, visions of a silver skinned woman with piercing red eyes and golden hair standing next to a stone tablet with the psychic eye carved into it. Any emotions faded when the image was revealed than returned when more memories of Prisca showed up.

Than came the re-cap of the entire night, these memories were clearer than the previous. Prisca would be able to see how he tortured Edward with fire, inflicting some burns here and there -to include burning his own cloths a little on accident- , tossed him into the ocean and than let him nearly drown before he dragged him back onshore. Edward's terrified face brought a morbid sense of satisfaction to Xero. "Cross with -MY- Prisca again and I'll be sure no one will find so much as a molecule of you ever again. You should thank her... she's the only reason I don't tear you to shreds right now." There was a brief flash of light before Prisca would be able to see her own house from high up in the sky and than-

Xero shook his head as he forced Prisca out of his mind. He couldn't believe what he had done, so casually. Embarrassment was an understatement. His head lowered between his shoulders. Xero avoided eye contact and instead focused on the floor. Terrible to do so, but he could not bring himself to look at her.

"I-" He struggled for the words for a moment. "-I am terribly sorry Ms. Prisca...."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 31, 2012 8:11 pm

Prisca's brow furrowed at the onslaught of all the memories. Not used to this kind of ability, her head slowly began to hurt at them all coming at her so fast. Her stomach turning at a few. So much destruction and horror. So much anger. It was interesting to fully see the kind of life she had been spared by the scientist who made and brought her up. It made her a bit angry herself to think of what humans put a single Pokemon through just for their own selfish gains. And never learned from their mistakes in the past. If it failed once, it would fail every time afterward. You couldn't control something living and breathing.

As the Mewtwo woman's concentration slipped, a few of her own memories leaked over to Xero. Often was the face of a growing little boy playing across the scenes. A kindly older man looking over the boy's shoulder while he worked on something. Of pretty decorations during holidays and even the boy, now a teenager, leaning in to give the genetic Pokemon a kiss on the cheek under the mistletoe. The same feeling of belonging and an extra joy of love surrounded those scenes. That was before they were engulfed in flame and gunshots.

Prisca quickly gave her head a shake to focus on her task. But her concentration had shifted too much and it was difficult for her to call off all the sharing. Her own recent memories of those same meetings between the two of them, coupled with the same feeling of love of before, though stronger, and coupled with a bit of a insecurities.

She willing accepted Xero's pushing of her out of his mind, opening her purple eyes to watch him hang his head sadly. At once, she shifted to sit on the floor at his feet, resting her arms on his knees to force him to see her. A tinge of crimson touched her cheeks from the force behind the word of "My" from his memory.

"Not like he was a friend. Is. Sorry...Maybe that will teach him to stop messing with me. He got what was coming to him." She shrugged at that, to further show how unaffected she was by the whole affair, giving him a sweet smile from the floor.

"You worry too much."

Xero was lucky that he had been so distracted while she was reading his mind that he only now had time to feel jealous of whomever gave her a kiss under the mistletoe. She felt the same way he did, but it did not seem that it was a mere connection in species. There was something more. Something Xero was slowly beginning to realize he had been missing.

When she moved in front of him he couldn't help but feel locked by her gaze. No matter how hard he thought about looking away he couldn't.

"I do not regret one iota what happened to that boy." Xero tensed as he spoke of him. That was not a pleasant memory, how Edward treated Prisca. Much less how he himself treated her. "My threat to him still stands... No, I am sorry you had to be in my company as I acted so rashly."

Xero's brows furrowed as he thought of the memories he received from Prisca. It was all the more sting to the wound. Her locket was all she had of those times and it was lost. What she must have suffered to have all of that taken away and than to loose such a priceless item...

Prisca nodded her head, the crimson still clear on her cheeks from the sharing of memories. Xero's not bringing of the kiss she had given him just last night wasn't reassuring in the least that it was forgotten and wouldn't come up later. It was a topic she wasn't prepared to go into. It was a topic she was hoping she never would. The whole thing wasn't something she had any experience on aside the family aspect of it. Knowing and acting on how you felt was one thing. Making it so bluntly obvious to the other was quite another ballpark she was quite fine not playing in.

"Mm, yes. My first instinct is to reassure someone of that." Still offering her sweet smile, Prisca patted one of his knees. "You still worry too much. Any respectable person would have behaved the same." Leaning towards him on her knees, she brushed aside his bangs to peck him lightly on the nose. "I appreciate your efforts to keep my honor. Thank you."

Xero's face brightened at the peck on his nose with the tips of his ears matching the color of his cheeks. His brows still furrowed however. This didn't seem right. He felt it in her memories too, the same thing he felt when he looked at her, she felt when she looked at him. His jaw clenched.

It was easy to rip apart an insolent tamer, to destroy years of research, to defeat enemies, but it was so hard to say simple words. Last night he had teased her, nearly displaying his affections as if it were a game.

He placed his hands on her shoulder gently than locked eyes with hers. The words stuck in his throat terrified of the consequences of their freedom.
"M-Ms Prisca... I do not mean, my concern is not with anything involving that... I was, am, concerned about you. I did not mean to play with your emotions so."

For a being so ruled by logic this was difficult. It was as if emotions took the wheel and were all the more ignorant about how to drive.

His forwardness took the woman by surprise. She had barely settled back on the floor when her shoulders were taken in Xero's hands and she found herself looking deeply into his purple eyes. Her own were slightly wider than normal, both the shock and her own concern shown clearly in her own purple orbs. When he spoke, they narrowed, taking on a slightly confused expression.

"What? You're not....You're not playing with anything." Just as gently, she removed his hands from her shoulders, rising back up to stand before him. Out of habit, her hands smoothed at the many skirts around her legs, pushing the wrinkles out of the fabric. She had an idea of what he was talking about. What she had felt in his memories of her kept her from bolting from the room, not wanting to touch this subject at all. Curiosity kept her there, hands cupped in front of her thighs. It wasn't often Xero took, or tried to, take such control of the conversation. She wanted to see where he went with this.

"I know you're concerned. But I'm affectionate. I like to touch. That's how I was raised."

Tilting her head, she cocked an eyebrow at him curiously. "No need to be concerned about me. Where has all this come from?"

Xero slowly lowered his hands when Prisca removed them from her shoulders. His expression softened. Did this mean he misunderstood something? Perhaps she did not feel the same way. The tip of Xero's tail begun to flick back and fourth as his whole body begun to shake. Nerves? It was a new and very irritating experience.

The words seemed to lodge deeper in his throat as he continued to look up at her. He got to his feet slowly so he could look back down at Prisca. It seemed a little easier to get the point across that way. Perhaps another human thing...

"I am always thinking of you Ms Prisca... Always concerned for your well being. You are the only thought I have that makes me feel as though I could belong anywhere." Xero could feel his eyes starting to burn. Tears? Xero didn't cry for Trinity when she had died so many years ago...Was this something that was supposed to happen? Was it fear? He was unsure of Prisca's reaction. The thought of rejection was pressing uncomfortably on the back of his mind, though he had felt her emotions through her memories he still was plagued with doubt. Or even the thought- no, he was sure of what -he- was feeling. Perhaps holding it in now was forcing water through his eyes...

"I-" Xero placed a shaky hand on her arm this time while the other hesitated to caress her cheek, as if unsure if it would be accepted. Either way, he felt as if he needed her touch to be able to say this right. "-I love you... and I wish to claim you as mine...."

The mood in the air was strange, again. She didn't need to be a Psychic type to notice it. But it wasn't like it had been before. A observant human could notice this. The manner of the man in front of her had changed. Before she had pried into his mind, Xero had been normal. Now he was just acting strange. It concerned and made her curious.

More so by what she saw and heard next.

"What are you...." Prisca had begun before she saw the glint of something fall from his eye. That single tear had rendered her speechless, just watching him with her eyes gone back to widening. He was....Crying, right? Xero? The one who made all the terrible stories about himself and ruined the reputation of Mewtwo in just a few years work?

That was only the tip of the iceberg, it seemed. With the confession hanging in the air, Prisca gaped for words, not too different from a Goldeen in the water.

Once more, the woman removed the hand from her shoulder, no smile touching her lips. Reaching down with the same hand, she picked up the corner of the outer skirt and drifted up towards his face, not looking him in the eye, but focused on his cheek. She wiped at it with her skirt like a handkerchief, her fingers gently brushing his skin in the process.

"A Mewtwo is clearly better off with his own kind," she choose to start with, letting the fabric in her hand drop and brushing lightly at his cheek with her fingertips. She let them stop down near his chin, meeting his purple eyed gaze with her own. "Even with my family, I've never felt truly comfortable. It's different in your presence. Even just knowing you're near through the connection."

With that said, she kissed him softly and smiled with the love she felt clear in her eyes. "I love you, too. And you may."

Her silence did little to ale Xero's nerves of their worry. The fur on his tail stood on end and his heart raced as though he had just run a marathon. Time seemed to stand still. Xero waited for those horrifying words of rejection, assuring him he was incorrect in his own feelings. That is was a prolonged affect of the wine... but that never came. Instead he was assured of his answer.

The corners of his lips arched upward. He found the motion to be uncontrollable. In fact it was as if she had removed a heavy weight from his chest and he was able to breath once more.

"...Thank you." Xero whispered as he leaned into her hand, placing his own atop her's.

He than leaned forward and lightly kissed her forehead -he still believed he needed permission to kiss her lips, but was not in a frame of mind to ask- than wrapped his arms around her in a loving embrace.

For once in his life he truly felt that he was not alone.
