Trance walked out the shop door. It was a clear night, no clouds in the sky, and all there was, were stars in the sky. It was beautiful. His glowsticks shown on his body, giving an luminscent glow, doing exactly what they were expected to. He flipped his hair. It was getting time to get a haircut. He slowly sighed to himself, slowly falling into a deep trance. In these, he usually saw things like prophecies, but they were always jumbled and confused him. So he just let them go. This one though? He saw himself walking, with the outline of a character just standing in front of him, but no words were even said in this trance. It was just silent. His eyes remained cloudy for quite a few minutes.

Ivailo was on his way from his makeshift family's treehouse back to the noodle shop. He'd been visiting every day, despite never talking to anyone.. his shyness continued to get the best of him no matter what he tried. So naturally, when he saw the other noodle standing in the entryway, he felt himself start to shake with nerves. He continued though, forcing himself to nod and give a simple greeting; "Lovely evening we're having."

Trance's moments never allowed him to be able to hear things going on currently. So of course, when Ivalio gave his brief attempt at talking to him, he didn't acknowledge it. Luckily, his eyes unclouded shortly after Ivalio spoke, so Trance, feeling the prescence in the room shift, turned, and smiled. "I'm sorry. Did you say something...?"

"Oh... uhm. My apologies, were you busy?" The male kicked himself internally. Naturally he was going to do something silly like that, what else did he expect? "I didn't mean to bother you."

His ears flicked, and his stance calmed down. "No. I wasn't busy, and don't worry. You're fine, so don't stress yourself. I was having.." He paused, hesitant to tell the other fox just what had happened, in case the fox didn't believe him. "I was just in deep thought."

Iva nodded. "I understand. Have maybe a few too many moments like that, myself..." he gazed off into the distance quietly before continuing. "You know, though, you should probably avoid having moments like that in the middle of the walkways.." he gave a small teasing smile, hoping the other fox wouldnt take any offense.

Trance blinked. He was in the middle of the doorway, wasn't he? "Oh! I'm really sorry. I didn't realize I was.. I just." He stopped. His words had been fumbled and he ouldn't speak. "Sorry." He said, stepping out the doorway, and onto the sidewalk.

"No need to apologize, just keep it in mind next time, yeah?" He walked to the doorway, then stopped within the frame. "You heading somewhere, or..?"

He smiled. "Not anywhere in particular. Why? Looking for company?"

"Couldn't hurt... not trying to make myself sound dumb but I don't really have any friends here. Not outside of my family and treemates, anyway..." he admitted quietly.

He blinked. He wasn't the only one? That was surprising. He thought he was the only one around here that didn't have any friends. "Funny, sounds like you and I are in the same exact boat. I don't seem to have any friends. None of my siblings like me either. Except Rune. But she's always so busy."

"I'm sorry... can't say I really know the situation myself, being an only child, but it sure doesn't sound fun." He came back towards the other fox. "Well, maybe this was fate then? Two friendless foxes happening to meet like this?" Laughing lightly he added, "Nah, thats kinda dumb. That isn't how things work, is it."

Trance laughed softly. "You'd be surprised how fate and prophecies work.." He smiled. "Just two friendless foxes, becoming friends over similarties.

He smiled. "Do I detect a hint of knowing behind that statement on fate, there?" The male's tail assumed a slightly more happy position for the first time in awhile. "Mind if I ask further?"

Trance's body stiffened. His breath increased, and he slowly let it his words fumble. "W-What would you uhm.. What do you mean..?"

He shuffled his feet awkwardly. "Well, you seem like you know about this stuff... its kind of interesting, I mean. I wouldn't mind hearing more, or maybe seeing some of it in action. If that's even how it works."

He shivered. "Uh.. I mean, it's not like.. I can't.. I can see things.. but I just can't make it happen." It just invertedly happened that he had seen a moment like this happening right before Ivalio showed up. "I did see an encounter similar to this before you arrived.."

"R-really?" Surprise covered his face, but was quickly replaced by childlike wonder. "Oh, thats... thats really cool. Seriously. Haha..." He kneaded the ground a little with his paws in excitement. "So, fortune telling then? Or something to that effect?"

"Something to that effect. I can.. see the past, present, and the future. And anything in between. But it all comes out as a riddle. Prophecies." His eyes shrunk a little bit. This fox couldn't believe anything like what he was saying. It was almost crazy to him too.

"Huh..." Iva tilted his head slightly. "I guess that makes sense... if they made it easy to understant, that'd make it a lot easier to mess things up, huh? Whoever "they" is.." he trailed off into that thought.

"Yeah. I'm assuming "they" are just some sort of weird gods that are determined to make my life a living hell hole. First, they make me gay, then they put me where others judge me for their decision, and now I discover I'm an oracle of sorts..." He sighed. "Life sucks, then ya die."

His ears perked up slightly. "You're gay? Uh... wow. I can't be-... actually, yeah, I can believe that others would treat you badly for that," he sighed and lowered his head. "Well, I know a few gods, and a goddess, I don't think any of... well, one of them might.. uh.." He looked back up. "Uh... so, about that prophecy stuff, huh?"

He cocked his head to the left, but shook it, and continued. "Yeah. It takes me a while to solve the riddles, but usually, they're just lame things that happen to other noodles. Like getting stung by a bee. I've never had a big vision be--" He stopped. "Well, I take that back. There was one that I had, but I stopped solving it because it would have ended in my death."

"Really? But..." He trailed off again. "Even if you didn't solve it, isn't it still going to happen..?"

"Death is inevitable, but sometimes, you can cheat it to where you won't die. That's the fun of it." He smiled, winking. "Besides.. if I do it this way, it's a little more fun."

"I suppose thats right..." he said quietly. "You still need to be careful though! I mean, everything has a chance of killing you, but some more than others, you know? It can't hurt to take care..."

"Eh, I guess. But.. I think it'd be nice to experience what death is like. Especially since some of the people in this world are arrogant and mean. I'd like to just.. spend eternity with someone who understands me.. y'know?" His eyes started to cloud. Not again. "Uhm.. So if I can't hear you, it's because.. yeah vision."

"I have to admit I have the, erh... curiousity, too... but it seems like its better to wonder than to find out, haha." He shuffled nervously. "Uhm.. would you rather me leave you be until its over?"

"You're fi--" He suddenly couldn't speak. His eyes glazed over in a haze. This time, it was just him in the area. All that showed up was a cloud. "The limitation of everyone who you are near will guide you to being an excellent fox. But only when you realize the one person you can manage to get close to had a severely trouble past." The riddle seemed to be too clear for a prophecy. This couldn't be right. And to go with that, he had just spoken the prophecy outloud. He'd never done that before.

Iva was slightly taken aback, and his ears and fur flattened noticeabley. "That sounded a lot more clear than your usual riddle..."

His eyes unfrosted. "I'm sorry? Oh.. so I'm assuming you heard? I don't understand.. This usually doesn't work."

"Y-yeah, I heard.." he wasn't sure how to respond. He didn't have any idea how this would have happened, but that sure sounded like him in the vision. Shaking his head vigorously, he tried to clear his mind. He didn't manage to bring up any other words, though.

Suddenly, things had become awkward. "I.. I'm sorry." Trance turned, and headed back to his quarters to hide for the night. "I.. I'll see you around. My name is Trance, by the way."

"A-ah.. wait!" The dark fox started after the other male as quickly as he felt comfortable without coming off as creepy. "Trance! Are you alright?"

"N-No.." He frowned. "I'm sorry, this shouldn't have happened, and I'm embarassed. Please just.. just leave me alone."

"If you aren't okay, I'm sure as hell no going to let you walk home alone this time of night... yeah, maybe I'm overcautious. But you can't know whats in this shadows." He trotted around in front of Trance. "Besides, you don't need to apologize or anything... it was kinda cool, in that mystical sorta way. I feel kinda bad for... intruding?" He thought for a moment. "I don't know if its intruding if I didn't come in in the middle, but yeah. I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't worry, I'm sorry, let me make it up to you by walking you home?"

"No.. it's not intruding, but.. I guess. As long as you don't mind. I live with my sister." He said. She'll probably bump into them anyways. He should warn him.

He smiled warmly. "I don't mind at all. You'll have to lead the way, of course. And if your sister is anything like you, I'm sure she's fine."

Trance continued walking in the direction. It was a few blocks short of the shop, so roughly 3 blocks away.

Rune had been waiting outside, on the steps. It was beyond dark by now, and she had been worried. The runes hadn't been kind to her tonight, and she'd decided she'd make sure her little brother got home safely. It wasn't like him to be out so late. Her wings stretched slightly, yawning. She was really tired.

Iva followed the other fox, observing the landscape carefully, peering down every alleyway and service road with caution. He hadn't been in this part of town, and that paired with the darkness was making him more nervous than he usually was. "So is this your older sister or a younger one?" he asked, attempting to make conversation to cover up the still slience of the night.

Trance laughed. "This is my older sister. Rune. This is Ivalio. And Iva, this is Rune." He said, introducing the two.

Rune examined the fox, going over every ounce of him. He seemed like he was a little nervous. "..Hello." Her attention turned to Trance. "Trance, it's late. Why didn't you call? I was worried."

"H-hi," He said nervously, rubbing one forepaw with his other. "I, uh.. kinda held him up a little bit. He was leaving the noodle shop and I stopped him. So I walked him home, since I made him late like this," Iva explained, trying his best to hide how much he was shaking from nerves. Meeting new foxes wasn't his strong point... obviously.

Rune didn't acknowledge him. "Yeah, that's nice." She slowly looked at him and sighed. "I'm sorry, I'm a little bit on edge. The runes weren't nice to me."

Trance glanced. "Sorry Iva, give me a moment." He turned to Rune. "What exactly did you.. read?"

Rune frowned. "I.. does this kid know anything about.. us?"

Trance shifted his weight. "Well.. yes, I'll explain later."

She sighed, irritably. "You, and anyone around you, were supposedly in danger."

"Danger?" Iva blurted out, then quickly covered his muzzle with his paws.

Rune's eyes narrowed. "Yes." She said, shortly. "Danger. You know, that stuff that can get people harmed? That kind of danger."

"I know full well what danger is," he said, a bit of an edge to his tone."

Rune frowned. "Don't even think about getting a tone with me, Mr. I-can-waltz-into-this-openly-and-not-worry-about-the-reprocussions."

"I was just trying to be courteous," he retorted, controlling his tone as best he could; it didn't get worse, but it didn't get any better. "I didn't know there was any situation. All I wanted to do was make sure this young man that I may have put in danger, got home safely." The dark fox took a stronger stance, tail tip flicking irritatedly.

Rune snarled. "Obviously, little boy, you need to learn a thing or two about being courteous. Because this is NOT courteous." Her tail flicked as well, but with anger growing.

"And how exactly was I to know that..?" He asked curtly. "And for the record, it's not really appropriate to refer to me as little boy when I'm sure I'm a good amount older than you..."

"Well, perhaps at the 'tone' remark I made, that was an indicat--" She was cut off by Trance.

"Stop the ******** arguing you two. Jesus Christ." He sounded annoyed. "Just stop! It's not helping matters."

Iva lowered his head, tail and ears drooping. "I'm sorry..." He was incredibly insulted by this other fox, but he wasn't about to say anything... he didn't want to hurt Trance. Rune, he didn't care about, but the other male might've been offended if he said anything wrong of his sister.

Trance turned to Rune. "Uncalled for." He hissed. He turned to Iva. "Don't stress. She fights with everyone."

He mumbled in response, keeping his head down. For someone who didn't like trouble he sure got himself in to it enough.

Trance frowned. Did he say something to offend? "I'm sorry if I snapped..."

Iva shook his head. "Anyway, you were saying..."

Trance sighed. "I'm afraid that Rune is right though. You're in danger. Apparently.. I can't cheat death. Unless we find a death god."

As if it was even possible, the male shrank in size even more. "D-d-danger.. of d-death..?"

"Yes. Death." He saw the male shrink and decided to not say any more on the subject. "Anyways, I suppose, since it's late, you could stay the night. If you want. We have a spare room." He shot a glance to Rune, who was giving Trance a death glare. She'd get over it.

"Uh... is that, uh.." he glanced at Rune, then back to Trance. "... I don't think I really need to ask if thats alright with her," he said with a small laugh. "I think that might be for the best, I'm not sure I wanna walk home alone this late... especially not after all that..."

Trance chuckled softly. "She'll get used to you. She's not used to me having friends over.."

Iva tried to conceal the small happiness he felt. If she was going to get used to him, that made it sound like he'd be over often... something he had absolutely no trouble with.
