Enfaya never looked back; instead she dived into the roots at a slow pace to make sure everyone was following her. As one went deeper into the roots of the tree of life the lights from the lanterns diminished until you could not see anything. Once your eyes were adjusted, the small glow of strange crystals illuminated the cave like tunnel with a blue, pink and green light. Vritra was across the way, but this tunnel was open on this night and Enfaya was going to use it to get across in a shorter amount of time. At some point, she turned around to glance at those following her. “If anyone is tired please let me know and I will slow down once more.” She was far too stressed to stop her pace, but the patrons, treelings and others might need to rest. They had a battle in front of them, that Enfaya was sure of.

Mentari was stunned by the profound beauty that surrounded the few of them following behind Enfaya. It was curious that all this existed beneath the large life tree- even more so that it was all hidden from view beneath its roots! She stared in awe, trying to wrap her head around it all.
Enfaya’s voice carried over the line of them, fairly loud in such a small space. Her legs felt the barest of strain, a result of the trek she’d taken to reach the meeting before it’d started. But she didn’t request anything. Mentari had dealt with worse wears on the farmlands at home, and it seemed they had a journey ahead of them. Instead she raised her left arm, hefting up the treeling she held in it like a child, and quickened her step to catch those in front of them.
It was those two. The floating child and woman. The soft blue and pink reflected off their backs, and Mentari slowed to match their pace once she caught up with them. The atmosphere was so tense, it almost felt wrong to speak casually in such a setting. But she was clueless, and wanted to know about the world she was delving into. Another piece of old Mentari crumbled away as she decided to speak to the brothers-in-arms.
“Excuse me,” she uttered lowly, hoping not to startle them or come off strange. “I…seeing as how there are so little of us together in this, I thought I’d introduce myself.” She nodded towards the blonde, but her eyes had somehow strayed to the ghost tail beneath her companion. “My name is Mentari Rodan.”

Safiyah and Cinfai had been following Enfaya somewhat closely, Cinfai still clutching his new little treeling (though it pouted and seemed to demand to be put down every few minutes). Every once in a while Cinfai would move closer to Safiyah and steady her as she stumbled, tripped or in general didn't pay attention.
Both of them had felt the approaching presence of the other patron, but were still surprised when she spoke up.
"Oh! Hi! My name is Cinfai, and this is Safiyah." he turned somewhat as he spoke, though continued to glide forward so as not to fall behind. Safiyah simply nodded in the other girls direction, eyes cast to the side and lips pressed tightly together. "Ah~ and I guess this is Cassivaerius!" at which the treeling harumphed.

Even though she’d heard him before, Mentari was still caught a little off guard by the excited response. Being around such a persona wasn’t uncomfortable, she dealt with it on a daily basis in fact. The image of her brother and father came and went. They were rather…boisterous, large men; so seeing all that of energy coming out of the smaller boy shocked Mentari. She supposed her brother might have been very much like this at a younger age. At this thought she gave a very slight smile to Cinfai upon his, introduction- which fell away at the lack of response from the fair looking Safiyah. She clutched her treeling closer.
“Cassivaerius.” The name was a mouthful. She’d repeated it in her head before saying it out loud, proud for not butchering it. “Yours seems to be quite,” Mentari searched for the right word, “active.” She looked down at her own plant, it seeming content to just wiggle into different positions in her arms. “Mine looks happy enough to just be carried the whole way.” She would have assumed it was attempting asleep- if she were allowed to think plant did such a thing at all.

"Yeah..." Cinfai frowned a little as the treeling seemed to pitch another mini fit. "I don't think he likes being carried, but I won't let him fall behind~ so!" With that he readjusted the creature in his arms and continued on, Safiyah by his side.

Enfaya pushed forward, no time to stop, she could almost feel the moon about to reach its peak. Continuing into the tunnel, they finally reached what looked like a door; Enfaya pushed it open and found herself within the halls of the Queen palace. “Quickly now, we mustn’t get caught.” She ushered everyone who had come into the corridor and closed the doors once more, when they would need to leave the tree would find a way for them. She had wandered these lonely halls a long time ago, but if memory served right they would need to head to the great hall of feasts. “This way.” No one was in the halls, Kerberos had expected her to come from the outside, but had left inside almost bare.
With no time to lose Enfaya headed down the hall, stopping at each corner to make sure they wouldn’t run into some sort of patrol and then moving on again. As they got closer to the great hall, Enfaya knew things had started, she could feel the darkness in the air and she didn’t like it. She glanced back at the few following her and said a silent prayer, they were about to enter into a whole mess that should never have happened in the first place.

Mentari nodded in response, even though he couldn't see her do so. The plant in her arms squirmed from her hold and she loosened her arms. She aimed an apologetic look at it, before becoming awkward when it looked back. She snapped her eyes forward, a little unnerved. She looked to Cinfai's form in front of her, questions bubbling again. Her mouth was open but she had no way to phrase the question she wanted to ask. What was he? How could he float? Was it magic? Was the way the cave was lit by magic? Was this just how things naturally were in this world? Everything brought her back to sounding like an outsider: an ignorant person only there because of a fluke in judgement. Did she really want to test the fragile situation again at risk of them looking down on her?
There wasn't a chance to speak as their leader had informed them of reaching their destination. She glanced at the woman with white eyes and branches in her hair as she passed through the doorway. Mentari probably should have stopped looking so out of her depth, but she couldn't help the fluttering of nerves every time she saw a reminder of the alternate world.
Which was pretty much every other minute.
Her eyes were wide at the grandness of the building they were in. She wanted to say it was all so beautiful, but there was an eerie feeling with the quietness and desertion of a place that seemed fit for a king- or queen.
She followed the others behind Enfaya, Tari glancing this way and that at every pause so she could to get a good memory of the place. She tried to create a map of escape in case whatever they came up against was too big for her. But all the twists and turns left it muddled and she gave up. She gave a frustrated huff when there was suddenly a pressure in the air. Mentari was no weak woman, but the feeling was so suffocating that she almost dropped to her knees. With no way of knowing how to flee the situation, Mentari hoped to god that she made the right choice in coming here.
