Mind-boggling Abomination

Violet shifted around. Soon, she would get a roommate. She used to share her room with Amy when she was younger, but when her daughter grew older, she'd asked to have a different room.
Speaking of her daughter, Amy opened her door. "Hey Mama!" The young sorta-vampire hugged her mother. "It's kinda dark in here, isn't it? Well, darker then usual." Violet usually had the curtains closed due to her very fair skin. However, one of the lights were off. "The lightbulb just went out."
"Do you want me to get one?"
"No, it will be fine."
"Okay."

Synthia was dragging her wheeled bag through the floor. Her back was aching and her black hair kept getting in the way, blinding her from where she was going. She then saw a young pale looking girl hugging her mother. She looked at the dorm number, and found out that this was her room. "Goodness gracious, this bag is a burden," she mumbled to herself, but then she tried not to be rude, but ended up ruining a conversation. "Sorry dearies, but I need to get inside please. And I may need help too if you don't mind."

"Amy..." Violet's eyes flicked to Synthia.
"Oh. Don't worry, I'll help her." Amy let go of her mother and grabbed Synthia's suitcase. "Where do you want this?"

Syntha smiled at the chubby young lady as she took the suitcase. "Just put it on the available bed," Synthia replied, "I'll get the rest myself. Thank you dear. It is appreciated."

Synthia woke up from her bed. She fell asleep reading one of her books last night. This usually occurs a lot with her love of reading. She remembered it was a love story. Two people, a man and woman, falling in love. Meanwhile things go harsh on them, and the woman dies of a brain tumor. It was quite a lovely book, but it was time to sit up and get dressed and get ready for her first day of work.
