What's A Laptop?

:: this color text :: [11/14/2011 3:29:42 AM] Jinx: The heat ripples appears, signaling an approach from the mental realm. From the shimmering nothingness steps a young girl. She's a tiny thing, short and as thin as a human can be while still remaining healthy. With her soft white hair and equally pale skin, she bright to mind a breakable china doll. Only her eyes, blacker than midnight and curiously blank-looking, show the creepier side to the woman.
As she steps further away from the portal and into the world, her sheen of hair swishes behind her. It easily reaches the back of her knees, and is straight as a rule. Her clothing is as black as her eyes, and only serves to make her seem paler. The shirt is quite loose on her, with long sleeves that almost completely hide her hands and the hem-line plunging low enough that the shirt alone could serve as a low-cut dress. The neckline reveals her collarbone and the pale flesh of her neck, but is otherwise modest. A hood is attached to the shirt, black with splashes of white as though spattered in bleach. Her pants are in the style of the hakamas worn by priestesses, though black instead of the usually-picture red. Her pale feet peek from under the legs of the long, flowing garment, bare.
[11/14/2011 3:41:31 AM] Yushika: A man with dark hair is sitting in a chair, poking at his drink with a long finger. He is neither pale or tan, green eyes shaped in a way that seems as if he is constantly smiling even if his thin lips are not. His bangs are parted in the middle, the back of his hair falling to his collarbone, though it seems to be kept in place despite the mans unruly life-style. He wears a black and green yukata, typical and traditional japanese wear that he wears claiming that it gives him inspiration to right. Black wings fold to his sides, the green leathery insides hidden from sight. Letting out a short, calm sigh he rests his head on his hand, sandle clad feet swinging to cross at the heel. He holds a laptop, Word Document up but empty of any typing. Long tongue escaping to run across his fangs, the male briefly ran his hand over his horn in an attempt to relax himself. He should work, he knows this to be true. He promised he'd finish his latest novel, and soon. Yet torturing his editor was just to damn amusing. He rather finish it and then with-hold it from her for a month or so, watch her panic and sob until finally giving it to her. Oh, she was a fine woman, he didn't mind her at all. He just loved teasing the frantic woman. When he goes to type a single letter in the document he stops, spotting a familiar girl. Where has she seen her before? He would surely remember someone so...pretty... Wouldn't he?
[11/14/2011 3:52:13 AM] Jinx: Nanna looked around the room with her large, blank black eyes, her gaze seeming to penetrate to the soul without really seeing what was before her. Her calm and empty face changed ever so slightly, brows furrowing the barest centimeter in an expression of thoughtfulness.
This was an interesting place. She held her pale hand before her, black cloth falling back to reveal delicate wrists and thin forearms. Her body had changed. Hmmmm. But this didn't feel like the spiritual plane, so perhaps it was the mental one? Absorbed in her thoughts, she didn't even notice she wasn't alone.

[11/14/2011 3:55:08 AM] Yushika: Ah, this girl.... She was familiar. Perhaps he could write about her? She was attractive and.... and her body was that of a dolls. Absently he wondered if she was related to that other doll like girl he had met awhile ago, sadly her boyfriend had threatened his life when he looked at her. What was her name? Phanes or something of the like. No, this girl was far more interesting he decided. Clicking his tongue the male grinned, looking at his laptop. Typing could wait.
Carefully closing the electronic, he turned to the girl. Standing, the male approached her, fixing his yukata until it covered his chest and nodding to her. She seemed out of it, he wasn't unused to this type of person... Though seriously.. she seemed familiar. "Welcome." He finally croaked. "What is your name, pretty lady?"
[11/14/2011 4:07:37 AM] Jinx: Nanna looked slowly up from her hands, where she had been flexing her fingers and staring in highly muted fascination at their movement, to the sound of a voice calling her attention. Her long hair, spilling around her shoulders in a curtain when she'd bent her head, flowed back. She ended up having to tilt her head back slightly, the man was so much bigger than her. "Are you a fox too," she asked in a quiet voice, not seeming to have heard his question.
[11/14/2011 4:09:54 AM] Yushika: Blinking, he almost went to say that clearly he wasn't when he paused. Well, did she mean his Modifox form? Flicking his wings open he nodded, finger slipping over the rim. "I suppose I am." He mused lightly, glancing over at her. "I prefer this world though, its far more...fascinating then my home world." For a second he flashed a dark smile, hinting that he was up to no good in this world. And then it came. "You know, highschool girls from here are rather stunning, you don't see ladies like that in my original home... Though... perhaps you could be an exception." Ah, there was a pressing question he had to ask, she hadn't answered it before. "What is your name?"
[11/14/2011 4:20:44 AM] Jinx: Nanna's blank eyes didn't seem all that promising if the man hoped she was taking in what he was saying. They had gone to his wings when he touched them, and hadn't strayed all while he was talking. So this probably was the mental plane, then. Dangerous place, where a serious thought could possibly turn into reality if one wasn't careful.
What were the limits on that, she wondered. If the man wished something and she wished for something else, what would happen? An interested quandery, but not one she wanted to put to the test at the moment.
Suddenly she realized the man was asked something. She blinked and pulled her attention back to his face. "Pardon," she asked.
[11/14/2011 4:23:24 AM] Yushika: This girl was not answering her questions he realized. Sighing, he patted the girl on the head. Alright, well. Since she wasn't answering him and he doubted she would be anytime he merely shook his head and returned to the table, tapping the hard surface with his hand. "What is your name?" He said, clearly and loudly enough to hopefully interrupt her thoughts. He paused, deciding this was probably not going to get him a reaction. Instead he took her hand, lifted it, and placed his drink in it, still half full. Nodding at her he tapped her chin upwards to indicate drinking it before going to lift his laptop, sitting on the table itself, and typing as he watched the strange but pretty girl. He was going to use her, he decided, as his new female role.
[11/14/2011 4:34:57 AM] Jinx: Name? Why did her name matter? "It's Nanna," she said, then proceeded to examine the thing the man had put in her hand. What was this? She leaned over the opening in the weird object and sniffed at the liquid inside. Was it meant to be drank? What about using her tongue? Did humans not do that? She didn't really know, she'd never seen a human before.
She sat with a boneless grace that obviously came from practice, and so swiftly that it had startled some who thought she really was as delicate as she appeared. Her pants and the bottom of her hooded shirt made a pool of black fabric all around her, accentuated by the pool of white that was her hair. Legs neatly crossed, she set the cup down on her bare ankles, supporting it with her hands, and continued to ponder over it.

[11/14/2011 4:41:03 AM] Yushika: Shigure almost laughed, it was insanely cute how she seemed to stare. Sighing he plopped down in-front of her. She really was helpless in this form? Patting her head he stopped, eyes widening. Hadn't he met a kit named Nanna? "My name is Shigure, I think we've met before." He commented, then he lifted the glass. Moving it before her eyes so she was forced to see it he moved it to his lips. "Watch." With this he made a show of pressing his lips against the rim, tilting it, and allowing water to fall into his mouth, setting it back down in-front of her. Patting the glass the man smiled reassuringly. "Try that. It's easier then in our world, getting a drink that is. Also there is more choices for drinks and food."

Slowly she reached for the glass, wrapping her thin fingers around the smooth surface, and brought it to her face like Shigure had. As much went down her front as it did in her mouth, but it didn't seem to preturb her. She set the glass back down on the floor, expression never changing and iota.
"Humans drink like this? Seems wasteful," she said, looking down at the damp front of her black shirt.

[11/14/2011 5:07:54 AM] Yushika: "Why wasteful?" He asked, grabbing a napkin and dabbing at her clothes. Ah, he shouldn't touch her... he was a pervert at times but... Augh. Consciences, how he wanted to kill them all. "Here, next time try actually wrapping your lips around it, water won't spill that way." Returning to his laptop he typed quickly before returning to Nanna, sighing softly. "How is it wasteful? A cup is a good container. Would you rather get on all fours and drink?" That /would/ look interesting.....
"I can show you more of the world, if you like." He offered, pointing to a door. "Currently a few of my kind are out as well as me, you wouldn't be alone."
[11/14/2011 5:11:57 AM] Jinx: Nanna's eyes followed Shigure as he attempted to mop her up, then as he went back to his seat. That was when her attention strayed yet again, to the weird black thing in his lap. What on earth was that? It made the most interesting sounds when Shigure touched it. Was it a pet?
When Shigure got up and moved back to her, Nanna kept watching the black thing. Maybe it would start to move around on it's own. She did hear Shigure's words, but then went to the part of her mind not focused on the black pet, to be pulled out and examined later when her attention freed her.
[11/14/2011 5:14:34 AM] Yushika: Shigure noticed her staring, moving to sit beside her. How did one explain a laptop? Sighing, he shook his head and opened it for her. "Look." He tapped a key. "I can write stories here. I can make stories in a way it can be shown forever, in a form that will stay forever and copied so others can read it excactly as how it was orginally told. I can also look at pictures with this, talk to people, and watch videos." Yea... Videos. He nodded, looking at her. Oh hell.... could she read?
He already had to teach Alyss and Break how to read! That was.... augh. He should have sent them to school here had their father not freaked on him. Shaking his head he raised the laptop and set it in her lap. "Click a key and I will tell you it's letter."
[11/14/2011 5:19:34 AM] Jinx: Write stories? Nanna had heard of writing before, had even seen it, but she hadn't really bothered to learn much about it. Everything she heard she commited to memory, with perfect recall. Her single redeeming feature in the eyes of her mother.
"You can talk to people through the creature," she asked, black eyes roving over the shiny surface held out to her. "It is a portal?" She blinked when it was set in her lap, then slowly reached forward to lightly tap a key. "It speaks," she said, a hint of surprise in her voice at the clicking sound it made.
[11/14/2011 5:23:28 AM] Yushika: "...." He stifled a lap. "No, it doesn't...speak..." He was tempted to say it did, just let her think it did. She was to frickin' cute for him. "And it isn't a portal, just something that if you use these keys," He poked a key. "And this pad," He toyed with the track pad. "You can move the mouse, that is this icon here, to click on things to talk to people with. Ah, this is hard to explain...." He looked at Nanna, blinked, and then his personality kicked in, arms wrapping around the girl.
"Cute, Nanna, you are cute!" He chirped before standing, fixing his yukata. "As about the speaking, it just makes a clicking noise. But hey, if you want to call it speaking I don't mind. Also the key you pressed was "F"."
[11/14/2011 5:27:35 AM] Jinx: Nanna blinked, not even moving to straightener her slightly rumpled clothes or push a few of the strands of hair pulled over her shoulder back behind her. She looked up at Shigure, eyes narrowing slightly.
Finally she pointed a finger at the creature in her lap, and her tone took on a slightly accusatory edge. "That is not a mouse. Mice are furry and squeak."
[11/14/2011 5:33:05 AM] Yushika: "Pfft." Stop Shigure, he needed to stop laughing. "Okay, listen. People call the pad, this," He leaned over to touch the mouse pad. "A mouse pad. I don't know why and it certaintly isn't a mouse itself, but that is its name." He grinned at her look, shaking his head. "Though there are those, too." She had a habit of choosing one thing to respond to, though he was lucky she responded at all. Hm. He was lucky she even was listening at this point. Sighing softly he patted her head, again. He couldn't help it, she was just to cute to not to.
"Right, so, Nanna. You don't remember me, do you?"
[11/14/2011 5:39:42 AM] Jinx: Nanna was still staring at the pad, a tiny stubborn crease forming between her brows. It didn't make sense, why call something that which it wasn't? It would be like someone calling a rock a porcupine. It didn't even vaguely /resemble/ a mouse.
"From what," she asked, looking up from the frustration mouse-that-was-not-a-mouse and at Shigure, who practically loomed over her since she was sitting.
[11/14/2011 5:43:26 AM] Yushika: Shigure shook his head, wagging his hand back and forth. "Nothing nothing, don't worry your pretty self over it." He mused lightly, looking up as his wings twitched. Ah. That annoying human that seemed to prod at him for nothing other then fun was calling, she must have to go. It was no use protesting, he would be comatose if he stayed here and she left. Balls.
"Say, Nanna. Come visit here again sometime?" He asked, smiling at the strange girl.
