Chapter XII: Make like a Roadrunner, and Sprint!Welcome readers, to another update of Let's Play Advance Wars! Since I was a bit under the weather yesterday (allergies and all) and I had an interview to attend to, I wasn't able to update.
But now I have probably the shortest chapter for you guys to read.
We start off with the usual pre-chapter banter of the enemy CO's.

Leave it to Drake to make a sailor's pun. -chuckle-

Eagle doesn't want to know what happens when he gets defeated by Orange Star for good. Wait, wouldn't he just run away?

"We're never on the field, so we're 100% safe. The troops though, I'm not so sure."

Hey, we fought pretty good for "fools who came into uncharted waters!" Give us some credit, Drake!

Eagle: That's nonsense! In every single map, they got the first turn! I think their coin they used to decide the first move is rigged.
Drake suggest something intelligent, such as the whole conflict being orchestrated by an outside force. Eagle doubts his theory, because that's just absurd. There are no such thing as "players" controlling them and this is not a "game!" This is war!

But Drake is determined to break the 4th wall and prove that there is a force outside pressing the buttons-- I mean, he's determined to see what and who is behind the scenes. Ahem.

But Andy was the last CO that I used, right? Surely Drake wouldn't lie about who he was facing. Or maybe he would to hide the fact he got beaten by a youngster.

Because of him being my favorite CO (and other reasons that commenters have told me), I choose Andy to face off against Drake again.

Mission 13: Probably the shortest time on a map in the entire game.

Yes Nell, we can very well hear you, whether we like it or not. Thank you very much for stating the obvious.
She goes on to say that there's a rocket unit that's vital for our victory later, and it's our job to defend it. How fun in a fog of war.

Our turn time limit: 10. It will be the longest 10 turns ever spent.

I won't, since I don't happen to have any seize units.

I start the mission going on the offensive. You know what they say. Offense is the best defense!

I probably should have moved this recon unit sooner. That will turn out to be my undoing, sadly.

This looks like a pretty good wall, doesn't it? What could possibly go wrong--

Rockets make every day go wrong!
gonk
Battleships also wreck my units continuously. Drake has like, five of these hidden in the fog! I think he's taking revenge for me sinking all his battleships in the last map. D:

Drake's occupation force takes over my HQ's small island. I placed the missile unit that needs protection on one of my Landers. They gaze back wistfully like a dramatic war movie as their comrades fall to the mighty fist of the Germans-- er, Green Earth!

My lone submarine scouts the waters out. Reef-hopping ensues. Following in the reefs to stay hidden from enemy forces, the Lander with the missiles on board trust the submariners with their lives. To relieve the tension, they watch some very special videos that Andy isn't allowed to see.

At last, day 10 is here! But aren't Green Earth's navy on my tail by now?

Nell arrives in the nick of time, with her reinforcements, I guess. Way to make us do all the work and then steal the hero spotlight. >.>

I suppose I'm glad she backed us up too. -grumble-

And so Drake runs away to sail another day. And then everyone lived happily ever after.

I only got a B rank due to losing so many units. D: I wish I knew a better strategy. My whole army almost got wiped off the map!

I still got coins and a promotion though. Next map, I'll do better!
Next time on LP Advance Wars, we face off with the air ace, Eagle once more!
See ya then.
