Tomas slept, breathing quietly. The rustle of the tree didn't arose him from his slumber, as once again, his mind drifted back to the carnage he had caused through out his life as a warrior. As Tomas's disturbed dreams ravaged him during his sleep, making him a light sleep, the voice above him still did not wake up.
Not until the second twig caught his cheek. Then, Tomas grabbed his dagger and sat bolt upright, breathing heavily and lathered in sweat from his nightmares. He looked around, adrenaline coursing through his veins.
Tomas breathed slowly, forcing his body to calm down. Sighing with relief, he flopped back down onto his bedroll. When Tomas opened his eyes, he frowned almost immediately and sat up again. Is someone...
"You there! What are you doing?" Tomas called out softly into the dark above him. Then, he waited for a response....

When the man below her suddenly shot into wakefulness, Eirian shrank back, afraid for a moment that she had done the wrong thing and he would now turn on her - after all, even when people didn't know she was a shifter, some of them were still aggressive and probably wouldn't like being woken up. It was only when she heard him flop back onto the bedroll that she looked back over the edge of the branch again. He was looking right up at her. She inhaled sharply, ducking back again as he sat up for the second time. Though she knew regular people couldn't see as well in the dark as she could, she had no idea what this guy actually was. As his voice carried up to her through the night air, she carefully moved and peered down again, figuring she had nothing to lose by saying something; "Well I'm... errr... kinda stuck... I managed to hurt my ankle and can't get down without possibly breaking half the bones in my body. So... yeah, I guess I was hoping for some help."
Though he wouldn't be able to tell since she had her helmet on, Eirian began to smile sheepishly, realising just how stupid her predicament seemed now that she'd said it out loud. She had managed to get herself a fair way up the tree and she wasn't exactly sure how the man below her might be able to help anyway, but it was better than trying to get down herself - which unless she wanted to hurt herself would involve shifting and risk gaining another animal feature that she'd have to hide. As she shifted slightly, she felt a surge of pain from her ankle and winced, breathing out through her teeth. Now the adrenaline from the chase was beginning to wear off, she was beginning to feel the throbbing from her leg more strongly.

Tahltria, her brother and the two animals made it back to their tribe without incident. The two elves were tired and glad to see the light glowing in the windows of their home not that far ahead of them. As they neared their home Tahltria saw a silhouette appear in the window before it disappeared as quickly as it had come and not long after both elves heard the door open. A moment later a figure rushed toward them with a slight limp, which turned out to be the second eldest of the siblings, Eldul.
Eldul grinned as he took the deer his sister was carrying trying not to jostle Amaria who had settled on Tahltria’s shoulder a little while ago. Normally Tahltria would protest but ever since her brother had been bitten on the leg by a wild dog, about a year ago, he hadn’t been able to go out hunting with his siblings. Instead Eldul stayed home and worked on his carpentry skills with their father. The quality of the things he made was steadily raising and this can be seen in the bows he made for his brother and sister which both were very happy with but Eldul insisted that he could make better, in time.
Shifting the deer so it rested more comfortably on his back Eldul grinned at his siblings then turned and limped back to their house. Tahltria and Fiyn smiled, both were happy that despite his disability Eldul retained his cheerful personality. The two followed after their brother. Laf’ruil padded past them to walk beside Eldul, who scratched behind his ear. Despite what had happened Eldul had no problem being around canines.
Once inside they stored away the two deer to be properly prepared and stored in the morning before all three retired to their rooms. When Tahltria had entered her room Amaria fluttered over to her perch and shuffled her wings slightly before settling down to sleep. Laf’ruil went over to his own bed, a large pillow stuffed with downy feathers and curled up. Tahltria looked at her two companions fondly as they drifted off before quickly changing into night clothes, laying down and falling asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Morkrael twisted and stretched contentedly in his sleep, sighing words in the language of the dead as incorporeal whispers swam through his dreams. Some bearing knowledge, some power, and some, certian destruction. Dreams were a sacred thing for the Blackraven. A time when one's mind drifted into the void, was most vulnerable, but most at ease with the whisperings from beyond the pale. Morkrael snored lightly "Pater..."

Hearing the girls words, Tomas pulled himself up and out of his bedroll. He rummaged around in his pack, mumbling to himself. With a snort of humour, he pulled out a rope and hook. "Knew I had this for a reason."
Turning back to the tree, Tomas started to swing the hook. "I hope you can catch!" He called as he swung the hook and latching it onto a thick branch. Tomas let out a small cry of victory. "There ya go! Slide down that."

Eirian looked at the hook and rope for a few moments, debating whether or not it would be a good idea to slide down it, after all at least she had the advantage of height while in the tree. Then again, it was this, or remain stuck up in the branches. She reached down to grab the rope, tugging it sharply to make sure it was firmly secured; once she was certain it was she maneuvered herself round so her legs were dangling from the tree (using her claws to keep a tighter grip on the bark with her hands, since she was pretty sure the man below wouldn't be able to see them) then grabbing hold of the rope first with one hand, then with the other. Once the girl had a grip on the rope with both hands, she began to slowly make her descent, making sure that when she reached the ground she set herself down on her good leg. Unfortunately, when she let go of the rope she lost her balance, instinctively placed down her other foot and promptly collapsed when a shot of pain surged up her leg. Argh! Dammit!
Breathing out through her teeth, the cat girl gripped her leg as she waited for the pain to subside, temporarily forgetting the man stood not too far away from her. Luckily she'd kept her armour on, so he wouldn't be able to see her strange features, but it still wasn't often a good thing to let down one's guard. After a moment or too, she realised this and allowed her ears to swivel in his direction, so she would hear any movement.

Tomas watched carefully as the figure slowly slide down the rope. He took note of the favouring of one leg, and thinking of the best way into which to carry this person if need. His suspicions were clarified when the figure made a noise of pain, followed by cursing. Tomas approached the figure and knelt down next to the tree escapee, taking note of the weapons and armour that they were wearing. "You alright there?" His dagger holstered firmly on his belt and the moonlight glistening slightly, adding definition and shading to his form, as well as hiding half of his face.

The mist slowly engulfed the forest, making it hard to see more than 20 feet in front of the beholder. Forest critters were creeping back into their holes, while the bigger and darker creatures of the night roamed.

As the figure knelt down beside her, Eirian tilted her head up, her light grey eyes just visible from beneath her helmet. They searched him quickly, settling for just a second longer on his dagger before settling back on his face - the pupils seemed to have an almost inhuman sheen, making them appear almost white when the moonlight caught them. She was silent. Wary. Distrustful. Never could she afford to accept help from people for too long, lest they discover who she truly was, then end up with a knife settled between her shoulder blades. As the moments ticked by the girl's thoughts whirled inside her head, trying to think of a solution that would allow her to escape, without arising suspicion or the offer of help from the man before her. He already knew she was injured, so if he were planning to kill or capture her he probably would have done so already, but if she tried to leave he might offer to help her, which could lead to her discovery. It was then she noticed the mist slowly rolling in through the trees; perhaps if she could use that to her advantage, she could escape? Prevent him from following her if he tried?
As the silence between her and the man dragged on, she realised she should speak, or the whole situation would become increasingly suspicious and awkward. "I'm alright I think, just managed to hurt my ankle, but I should be fine." She pushed herself to her feet, forcing herself to move through the pain to make it appear as though she was unaffected by her injuries. She still held one foot off the ground slightly, but she attempted to stand as normally as she could, speaking through clenched teeth. "Thank you for helping me sir, I should probably be on my way, I don't want to disturb you anymore than I already have."
