"I believe the spirits of those we live stay with us even after death, they help and guide us through our lives even if we cannot see them. Your brother is still with you I am sure of it, he knows the pain you feel and if he deserves even half the love you feel for him then he understands that you are sorry and forgives you because he knows you love him and he loves you too." Victio said, smiling down at the boy. Victio sighed as Alphonse refused to tell him about what happened after the accident, perhaps that is enough for today. "Will you come back with me to the car? I have something that you can give him, if you want." Victio said, turning his body in the direction of the car.

Victio stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Alphonse. "He said something to you before he died?" Victio questioned, amazed "What did he say?" Victio said, turning to face Alphonse. "Before you say anything though, know that the human body under the stress of impending death may say things that it does not mean, he may not have even known what he was saying when he said it, it may not have even been directed at you." Victio said, a sad look coming over his face.

Victio shook his head, this poor boy, he could only imagine the pain that this experience must have caused him, the memory of his brother mouthing the words "Your fault" just before his death and that being the last thing that his brother ever said to him. The same and grief must be unbearable.

Victio continued to look at Alphonse "Of all the things your brother could have said before his death, that must have been the hardest for you to hear." Victio said, still looking at alphonse, willing him to look up at Victio. "Are you sure you heard him say that? The accident must have been very hectic and with all the broken glass and the shock of it could you have misheard him?" Victio proposed, hoping that his suspicion could be confirmed. "I doubt your brother would say such a cruel thing to you in his final moments."

Victio was floored... "He kept repeating it?" Victio gasped "All he kept saying to you is that it was your fault until he finally succumbed to his wounds?" Victio could not believe what he was hearing, "I am sorry Alphonse that must be incredibly difficult to bear." Victio said. Victio felt like he could cry as Alphonse looked up to him with those pained eyes, they rocked him to his core. "You may have contributed to the the circumstance that caused your brothers death, but remember that you were hit by a negligent driver, it wasn't all your fault." Victio said, trying to make Alphonse feel better

"i am assuming your parents also blamed you for the accident?" Victio said, instantly realizing why he held so much anger for his parents.

Victio looked on in horror "I am not trying to understand what he said I am trying to understand how you felt about what he said" Victio explained "I am just trying to separate the statements from your anguish, it is your reaction to those words that is important." victio said, exasperated. "If you accept responsibility for what happened why do the words "Your fault" continue to haunt you? Do you disagree with your brother?" Victio said. "Accept responsibility unless you feel responsibility should be placed elseware."

Victio paused for a moment, looking into the boy's eyes. "No, what did your parent's say Alphonse?"

Victio sighed, noticing that his words were no longer having any effect on Alphonse. He stopped talking and started just listening, trying to figure out what Alphonse was trying to tell him. He listened as Alphonse said he felt responsible for his brother's death and said "I am sorry" when Alphonse told him that his parents thought he was a mistake and wished he had died instead of his brother. Such horrible statements should never be made by a parent to their children, and there was nothing Victio could say to undo what was said or to make Alphonse okay with that being said, all he could say was "I am sorry Alphonse" and look into the poor boys eyes.
