I've been playing the Blazblue games, I'm now a huge fan, and I've been noticing A TON of similarities to Trigun. Some of these have only a few similarities, some of them have a lot.

Vash The Stampede= A man in a long red coat wanted mostly for accidental property damage or things his brother did. Has an evil twin brother that still has a creepy form of brotherly love for him, but still evil. His arm was cut off by his brother. He has an extremely powerful weapon in his arm that he has difficulty controlling.
Ragna The Bloodedge=A man in a long red coat wanted for crimes against a corrupt, tyrannical organization. Has an evil brother that is sort of yandere for him. His arm was cut off, but his brother wasn't the one who did it. His new replacement arm contains a very powerful magic that he had to train for years in order to learn how to control it.
Iron Tager: Has the exact same sunglasses as Vash. I'm serious. He also has spiky hair just like Vash's, that is mostly black with a white streak, kind of like Vash after using his angel arm a few times. The main different is TAGER IS A GIANT RED CYBORG

Millions Knives: Vash's brother, and the main antagonist. Has a wildly different view from Vash, but still loves Vash as a brother... He just... Wildly disagrees and doesn't mind killing people in front of his brother. He wants to kill all the humans to save the plants. Has blond hair and is mainly seen in blue.
Jin Kisaragi/Hakumen: Ragna's brother. Has blond hair and wears a blue coat. He wants to destroy the world and make a new one full of "order". A member of the corrupt organization Ragna frequently attacks. Wants to kill his brother, but wants his affection at the same time. Is not the main antagonist, however.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood: A likable guy with a sarcastic streak. Very hotheaded and sometimes acts violently towards others. In the manga, he takes some sort of drug that makes him more powerful, heals him, but causes him to age much faster, so he is actually a young boy in actual age. Wields a very large, improbably weapon. Was inhumanely experimented on by the leader of the Eye of Michael
Carl Clover: A likable young boy with a sarcastic streak. He takes some sort of drug that makes him very violent towards others at times. His main weapon is a big robot, who is actually his sister who was inhumanely experimented on by his father.

Elendira the Crimsonnail: His/her/its weapon is a giant nail.
Bang Shishigami: His weapon is a giant nail.

Legato Bluesummers: Batshit insane. He finds delight in other people's suffering, and loves to slaughter people "for sport". His only goal is not to kill Vash, but to cause him eternal suffering. He is able to control the muscle movements of others. In the anime, he has Vash's arm. Also in the anime, he uses his powers to make Vash use his angel arm.
Hazama/Terumi: The main antagonist. He takes delight in other people's suffering and the fandom adores him because he loves to "troll" and mocks other characters just to see their reaction. In fact, he feeds off of people's hatred. Was the one that cut off Ragna's arm. Since he was the one who actually created the magic in Ragna's arm, he is able to stop Ragna from using his powers once they have their final showdown, forcing Ragna to rely only on his strength and blade.
Arakune: Batshit insane. 'nuff said.
Relius Clover: Major antagonist, but not the main one, who is cold, cruel, and utterly devoid of empathy. He is known as "The Puppeteer"

Milly and Meryl: Cute, innocent comic relief characters that get into their own misadventures.
Taokaka: Cute, innocent comic relief character that gets into her own misadventures.

Meryl&Milly: Meryl is a short, flat chested woman with many small guns. She wears a cloak, filled with even more small guns. Milly is clumsy and ditsy. Both of them work for an insurance agency.
Noel Vermillion: A clumsy, ditsy, short, flat chested girl who wields two small guns. She often wears a cloak, which she takes off dramatically during battle.
She works for the corrupt organization, but is unaware of how corrupt it really is. Unlike Milly and Meryl however, she plays a very major role in the series.

Leonof the Puppet Master: Creepy guy who controls very lifelike, uncanny puppets.
Relius Clover: Carl's father. Is known as "The Puppeteer". However, the origins of his "puppets" are far more sinister...

Livio the Double Fang: Often wears a cloak. Is really a somewhat awkward guy, known to be a coward in his childhood. However, he has an alternate personality named Razlo that is merciless and bloodthirsty. If the "real Livio" and Razlo "work together", they're unstoppable. Is originally a villain, but turns good and helps Vash in his cause.
Platinum the Trinity: A young girl who often wears a cloak. Her body hosts three souls, Luna, a rude little girl, Sena, a polite, crybaby young boy, and Trinity, who is actually the spirit of the one of the Six Heroes. Seems to hate Ragna.

Trigun: An action comedy that gets serious later on. Has a protagonist in a long red coat. Has interesting weapons and choreographed fight scenes. Has a large theme of "never killing anyone no matter what" vs "kill or be killed".
Blazblue: A serious plot with plentiful comic relief, and every character has a "joke ending". Has a protagonist in a red coat. It's a fighting game, and has a lot of unique weapons and gimmicks. Has a large theme of "Extreme order" vs "Extreme chaos".
