Kiyoshi felt the arms wrapping around his shoulders before the boy started to cry... which was the absolutely last thing that Kiyoshi had wanted but it was also something he should have expected, he was telling the boy that he couldn't love him in the way that Dinnye wanted after all. He gave a sigh as he hugged him closer, soothing a hand against his back, "I'm sorry, Dinnye." He murmured, feeling terrible for ruining his party, his birthday, by telling him that he wanted for the two of them to remain as friends. A part of him almost wished that he'd not showed up tonight but that would just be dragging it out as well as wounding Dinnye by not having showed up to his part. It was better this way, even if it hurt Kiyoshi to hurt his young friend.

As Dinnye drew away from him he expected him to run off... instead he knelt down in the snow and started to write in it despite his knees and hands both being bare, along with a lot more of him given the costume he was wearing, "Dinnye... perhaps we should get you inside where you will be warm." He suggested, not wanting for the boy to catch a chill, or worse a cold, if he were to stay in the snow for to long. He started to rise to his feet when he caught sight of what Dinnye was writing, starring down at it, "Ahh..." Well now, that was unexpected he thought to himself. Here he'd thought that Dinnye would be upset with him, would send him away, and instead he was asking him when he were bigger if he were to ask again, would Kiyoshi accept his feelings.

"I am not sure, Dinnye. You are a wonderful boy and I am sure when you get to be my age you will have all manner of people wooing you." He wondered if, by the time he grew, if Dinnye would think about him, "We will have to see come the time you grow, alright?" He hoped that would be enough for him. He had no idea what the future would bring after all and couldn't begin to guess where they might be in their lives... though he did hope that this wouldn't put a rift between them.

Pushing that aside he reached out and helped Dinnye up to his feet, brushing away the clinging snow and scooped him up, "Come on, I don't want to see you freeze, it's way to cold out here for you, especially in such a costume." The thing was adorable, yes, but it wasn't really a cold weather outfit. As such he would see about bringing the boy inside where he would be warm... and they would decide from there what they wanted to do. He really wasn't sure what he should be doing, maybe he should bring Dinnye to his father? Maybe... that would mean facing the guy after making his son cry which might not be the best thing to do in the middle of a crowd like this one.

Kiyoshi looked around after entering the warmth of the indoors, finding what he was looking for which was a chair off to the side, a place that wasn't as crowded, where he could bring Dinnye to sit down. Walking over there he set the boy down on his feet before he set to undoing the buttons on the ornate shirt he was wearing, "Here, let's wrap you up and help you warm up." He murmured, shrugging out of the shirt, leaving him in a simple white undershirt, and wrapped Dinnye in the more ornate, black one, "Once you are warmed up I will bring you back to your father if that is what you desire." He was sure that he would rather go back to being with Elliot or that guy in the veil from earlier instead of staying with Kiyoshi since Kiyoshi was the one that had had hurt him... it was the very last thing that he'd wanted but it was the truth of what had happened even if he felt it was for the best. The last thing he wanted was for Elliot to think that what he'd accused Kiyoshi of, in jest at the time, was at risk of coming true.

Kneeling down at Dinnye he took the boy's hands in his through the sleeves of the ornate coat and gave him a weak smile, "I really am sorry, Dinnye, I only even wanted to keep you safe only to end up the one that hurt you." He murmured, feeling so terribly guilty about it, "If you wish I can leave, I will bring you over to your father and your veil friend if you would prefer." He would leave it up to Dinnye to decide what it was that he wanted Kiyoshi to do, if he wished to banish him from the place then he would go.

Kiyoshi looked a little surprised when he felt the gentle hand reach up to pet his hair instead of choosing to knock him away which he had the right to do if he so wished it. He was surprised and hopeful, not wanting to be turned away and told not to come back even though he had broken the boy's heart in rejecting him. The kiss was also a surprise, probably even more so then the fact that he wasn't being banished, "Wow... one would think that you would be more likely to want to give me a slap instead of a kiss... thank you." He murmured, feeling a little more guilty when the boy was still being so nice to him after he'd hurt him. Perhaps it meant there was still a chance that they would be able to be friends in the future? He sure hoped so, it was what he wanted the most at the moment.

When the boy shook his head again at the idea of going back to the others he gave him a bit of a smile and a nod, "Alright, we don't have to go back to them yet. We can do anything that you want." He told him, knowing that playing around at a party wouldn't make everything up to Dinnye but perhaps it would be a start? After the party he would see about doing even more though what exactly he wasn't sure yet. He was a touch oblivious when it came to this sort of thing after all...
