The hairs on the back of Tania's neck rose when hearing the chief. Oh crap they were all in trouble. She knew what was coming, after all it wasn't the first time this was happened. In silence she listened and then nodded. "Yes sir." Seeing as her project in the mechanics bay was finished and there really was nothing else she needed to do there at the moment she decided to leave to get a start on that 20 page paper. Seriously 20 pages!? He apparently was trying to kill them, fortunately she had an idea to help get that number of pagers, she was going to do a lot of references to articles and other things on the subject.

Ever the early riser, Elise had managed to be the first to make it to the meeting. She had entered the room quietly and leaned back against the wall next to the door to wait for things to start. She did hear about Zoe's engagement, but she didn't think this was the time to discuss such matters. It wasn't that she wasn't happy for Zoe. Elise just wasn't the type to gossip. The young cadet kept quiet for the time being. Once everyone else had entered, Elise stood up straight and stood in the ranks to await instructions from Tai. Thoughts of her brother and when he was in training passsed briefly across her mind. What was it like for him? Despite the questions running through her mind, Elise stayed silent. She held her arms at her sides like any good soldier would do in this situation, keeping her focus on Tai as she awaited instructions. 'Let's get this show on the road already...' she thought to herself.

Rika noted the LT's wink and sighed lightly. Shaking her head she could tell he he had something devious planned, the kids were certainly in for it when they figured it out. The group of cadets surrounding Zoe had dispersed somewhat but they were still being chatty, all but a few that is. After about five minutes of reviewing the plan, she slammed one hand on the desk, loud enough to get all their attention and said, "Alright cadets, didn't you hear the LT? We need to get moving!" The cadets all went silent at the thought of an angry Rika on their tails and quickly started heading out, hurrying to their mobile suits. Rika shook her head again, she figured some of them were going to do alright, but she didn't think many of the others were really absorbing the training at all. She wondered if that was her own fault, for not teaching them well enough, but there wasn't much she could do about it right now. Heading to her office, she slipped into her flight suit and headed to the mobile suit hangar, to inspect her mobile suit and talk to the LT about what the plan was.

Darkness never bothered Rika, she wasn't afraid of the dark, in fact, she preferred the dark; she was very much a night person. This darkness bothered her however, it wasn't normal colony darkness, it was just pitch black, stifling darkness. Something was wrong, and Rika could tell this wasn't what the LT had planned. Not content to just sit in her mobile suit and do nothing but stand guard, once they had made it back to the hangar and gotten in position, Rika opened a private comm channel to the LT and asked, "What do you think it is Lt.? I haven't seen a blackout like this before; do you think it has something to do with the UESF? Things have been tense with them lately." Rika just spoke her mind, since it was a private comm channel and she figured that Tai would level with her if she asked. Sighing lightly Rika thought to herself, "Of all thee days Seren had to actually show up, something like this had to happen... Though I guess being in a giant robot is safer than being under one..." Rika was worried, not just for Seren, but for all the rest of the cadets; most of them weren't ready for full on combat.

"No... no no no no NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Tania yelled at the computer screen as everything in the room went black, especially the pc which she had been working on her paper. She felt like crying a bit in despair. "WHYYYYYYY!?" Fate truly was such a cruel thing. Now she was going to have to start all over again. When the lights came back on an announcement rang out. It was then Tania would realize that it hadn't just been her room, but the whole base. What in the would could have caused a blackout like that. Following the instructions given she returned to her post. Perhaps something had broken and needed to be repaired. Who knew...

"I don't think it's much of anything." Tai started. "Living in space is a complex thing and sometimes things go wrong." he said. There was no need to fantasize about an attack. Things had been tense but there was no way that the UESF would openly attack a colony. The blackout could have been the result of sabotage but still, even that seemed like a extreme situation. Could they know about it? he asked himself. It was unlikely but still a possibility. It's times like this that I wish we had every mobile suit ready to go. He lamented. At a time like this it definitely hurt to have an unmanned suit sitting in the hangar that was ready for combat. It was uncomfortable but all they could do was sit in the dark waiting for the next thirty minutes. Everything was quiet and uneventful, at least Tai noticed something moving off in the distance. A moment later an alert notification flashed on his screen. "Everyone spread out!" he yelled over the coms before moving further away from the hangar. "Command I have unidentified mobile suits approaching the base." Tai knew that what was happening wasn't a drill but he held out a small shred of hope in the back of his mind that they were reinforcements. Moments later his fears were confirmed. Tai could clearly make out the suits now and see that were the UESF's new models. Listen up cadets your guns are loaded with live rounds. It's seems that fate was on your on side today. I'll explain later but right now I want you to keep your distance and provide suppressive fire." he glanced in Rika's direction, knowing that it would largely be up to the two of them to defend the area. "I don't want any of you trying to be a hero. You're not ready yet. Just let Rika and I do our jobs."

There really wasn't much she could do in the mechanic area. It was all so chaotic everywhere that she was pretty much forgotten. Figuring she may have been needed elsewhere she headed down the hall ways eventually passing by the mobile suit hanger she stopped seeing there was still one there. Where was that pilot? Did he not understand how important this was? The bit her lower lip in frustration. Chances were he had gotten angry with one of the last trainings. It only made her irritated how people threw away there opportunities. If it had been her she wouldn't have ever thought of pulling such a stunt. Just as she was going to merely leave the area and idea came to her mind. Looking around like a ninja no one was in the area. Climbing up she slipped into the MS cockpit and turned on only the communications and video. Putting on a set of headphones and mic she searched for Zoe's channel and once she found it she opened a private conversation. "hey Zoe its me." Zoe most would know right away it was Tania, after all they were roommates it was a given they knew each others voices. "Could you give me a video uplink to your mobile suits video? I want to get a look at what you are up against." As a mechanic it was only natural she had a curiosity for what they enemy had. And perhaps, who knew, with her mechanic skills she could see some sort of weakness in them.
