Because I may have just gotten the largest hint into the world that They are interested in me. I am just getting some food in the student center and I decided to sit there and eat instead of going back to my dorm for once. As I am sitting down a guy approaches me and says "Hi are you a guitarist" (Theres guitars on my shirt). "I say no unfortunately." He says. "Well you seem like a pretty cool guy and I want to tell you about this book I have. And he proceeds to show me a book that appears to be one of the original Brahamic texts translated. I gave him a donation and got the book. I intend to read it but I just dont know if this is a hint or not

That's ok. That's what I figured you meant but I wanted to be sure first.

Off the top of my head, and people can correct me if I'm wrong, Hinduism is soft poly. And I'm blanking on everything else. I'll have to ask my friend. He's an ENP but takes a lot from Hinduism.

Sorry I couldn't be much more help.
Oh and reincarnation and dharma and karma. I wanna say they all came from Hinduism.

There are so many different sects in Hinduism, that's it's hard to say what's what, and who's who, and why. It's a massive subject, and a very complex and intricate religion. It's going to depend on SO many factors. Context is everything.

It sounds terrible, but I do actually recommend reading around Wikipedia for a while on the subject, and trying to get your head around the basics before you dive into any texts. If you can identify the text, you may be able to read about it as well, and figure out what sects use it, and in what context.

Mmm. Ok. Thanks guys. I am feeling less excited about it now so it may have just been random chance but I have the whole break to figure things out.

Sometimes people hand out religious info. It's not usually a sign from the Gods. For example, someone once tried to give me a tract on Jesus while they were paying for a burger. Doesn't incline me to go to church though.

As to the Hindu "path", as Morg said, it's pretty varied. It's actually a whole frikken lot of paths under an umbrella term. More similar to Paganism, which encompasses a myriad of different beliefs and practices, than say Christianity, which has a lot of variants but that all share a core of belief. And there are literally hundreds of Gods in some versions. It's a lot to dig into.

I've had a similar experience. I got stopped in the street once and asked a fefw random questions before the guy shoved a book into my arms, demanded a donation (yes, demanded - almost to the point of being quite hostile) and after flicking through the book I sent it to a second-hand bookshop. It was utterly useless information to a beginner. I've seen the guy haging around in different locations quite a lot, he's not the post popular. Nor are the Christians who hang around at Flinder's steps...spraying holy water on people is not a good way to get their attention.

O.o Hmm...not entirely relevant...

I had a chat with Kali once. Just Kali. There was no indication from which sect or facet she was coming to me from, so she said "Just Kali" and I'm like, all right. At this point I'm fairly certain that she was just trying to teach me a lesson at the time and not, in fact, asking me to follow her.

Why do I say that? Well as I researched, she'd knock me over the head (you know, like mum would do with the comb when you wouldn't sit still as a child) and tell me not to worry about it, what I knew about her was good enough and I didn't need to delve any deeper.

It wasn't until I really started researching (despite her reprimand) that I realized why she said this.

First of all, Kali herself has so many different facets and manifestations (I'm missing the word I actually want to use here...). It's crazy, I haven't even straightened them all out. Each sect views her in such a different light.

And then there was the soft-polytheist aspect. She knows I'm a hard-polytheist, and she told me before I started researching that I'd just get frustrated with it, and boy was she right >.>

Hindu is great, but sooooooo broad. I've barely touched the surface and I've been reading up on it for a little over a year.
