Donning her scarf and wizards stripey hat, Mint prepared for another long holiday season full of chaos and copious amounts of baked goods. A hastily written envelope in her mailbox the previous afternoon had requested her presence this evening at a park nearby. It could only mean one thing; Zero was up to his old nonsense again. This year, she wasn't taking any of it.
"I can't believe this, I have way too much studying to do," she sighed begrudgingly, mentally running through the stacks of flashcards in her backpack as she slipped its straps over her shoulders and pocketed a cell phone. Hopefully this wouldn't take long and she could stop at the local coffee shop afterwards for a quick cram session and some much needed caffeine. After giving the house one last scan to ensure that everything was in order, which it was of course, she turned back to the door and flipped on the outside light.
"Don't wait up!"
She stepped out into the cold, locking the door behind her. As the door closed, Fluffy looked up briefly from the couch before resuming her nap. Echo, however, eyed the open window suspiciously..

Arriving at the park, slightly later than expected due to the biting cold, Mint could see a gathering of shapes at the far side. As she approached they seemed to be watching her. Guess this is my welcome party she thought to herself. When they were near enough to make out clearly Mint paused for a moment and pondered the sight. They were all identical in face, body and clothing, each dressed in drab grey clothes, fashioned far out of season, and there were swarms of robots frantically scampering around their feet while beeping in a most annoying fashion. They certainly did not look friendly.
"Did you guys send me this ridiculous letter?" Mint inquired as she pulled it out of her pocket and waved it around. "It was barely legible y'know, maybe work on that penmanship. You're lucky my sister writes the same way and was able to at least make out this address."
The group didn't seem to take this criticism happily, and began to shuffle forwards. Clearly aware of what would happen next Mint readied herself, rolling the stupid letter into a ball and heaving it into the crowd, somehow managing to miss every target.
"Just flippin' wonderful," she cursed under her breath, looking around for another projectile of some kind.Zero Bot Army MISS AC - 10 HP @ Start of Round - 40 HP @ End of Round - 40

Mint was quickly coming to the realization that this scenario was not in her favor as she scanned around the park and found neither an ally nor a weapon. What the heck was I thinking, showing up here unprepared she mentally scolded herself while slowly retreating from the advancing threat. Suddenly, a flash of grey and white shot by, into the mob of fashion-unaware clones. There's more of them??. Expecting to be faced with another opponent, Mint was taken aback when the group seemed to reel and scatter.
"What in the world is going on now?" She didn't expect an answer, which compounded the shock when a relatively large grey and white cat bounded back out of the swarm and regarded her coolly."I don't know what you were thinking, coming here alone. I know you watch those silly 'Magical Girl' shows, no heroine is complete without a mascot of some kind. I'll be skinned if you find me in some ridiculous outfit, and there's no way I'm handing out shiny trinkets, but you're not the type for battle or strategy so at least I can help out with that bit." "So, uh.. you can talk, eh Echo?" Mint stammered back, after contemplating the situation for a moment. The cat merely nodded in response. "Alright, we'll go over the details of that later when I'm sure this nonsense isn't a dream or whatever. Trinkets would be cool, but I guess we'll work with what we have."
Quickly dropping her backpack, she reached inside for a small rectangular box, which she found exactly where she had expected it to be, and popped it open, shuffling briefly through the contents. In one fluid motion, she flipped a card into her hand, regarding its bold font. "Macrophages," she read, almost sadly, before flicking it into the nearly-forgotten clone-crowd. As it arced towards them she shouted, from memory, her definition; "Responsible for digestion and destruction of pathogens and secretion of lysosomal enzymes! Summoned by T-lymphocytes, Macrophages are the transformed version of monocytes!" As if driven by her passionate words, the flimsy paper card spun sharply, neatly cutting through several of the group, who flickered and faded in short order."What the meow was that?!" Echo questioned, looking up at her 'owner'*"Lets be realistic here. You're not giving my trinkets so I'm improvising, and I might as well learn my terms while I'm at it." The pair came to an agreement on this point, and faced back towards their opponents, ready for another round.*People don't really own cats. The group didn't take long to reorganize itself, filling the spaces made by their fallen comrades. It seemed they hadn't even noticed that some of their own were gone. Not a sound was heard besides the incessant beeping. Mint made up her mind that she would clear this park, if only to make that darn sound go away.
Recovered from her last action, Mint took a moment to ponder her future options. I don't want to use all my hard-earned flash cards right away.. Fortunately her bag had more variety to it than that.
Dropping to one knee, she rifled through its contents, not yet sure what she was searching for. Binder? Too important. Lapto-forget it, not even posing the thought. Ahh! wrenching her lone textbook out of the bag, she held it as one would a frisbee and spun around, releasing at the perfect moment to project into numerous clones. "knowledge is power!" she shouted with glee as one target after another vanished into smoke."Definitely going to need to work on that catch phrase.." Mint ignored the criticism and pranced about for a moment, taking what victory she could. The group re-gathered quickly however, the battle wasn't over yet!
