Slightly reassured the mantodae approached the desk and held out the tome. The gnome seemed somewhat disgruntled as he took the book from Yin and then began to quiz him down. "Name?" he barked.
"Yǐn Cáng."
The gnome scribbled out something that looked suspiciously like Yen Sonn on a slip in the back of the book. "Dorm."
"Monster."
He scribbled an M down. "Year." The gnome passed a critical eye over him. "Yer a snot, I can tell." He wrote down a 1 and then stamped a date on the slip before handing it back to the boil and turning away, obviously done with him.
Yǐn took the book and held it against his chest, almost as if he was protecting it. Written works were precious after all, and to take one with him was almost unbelievable. Turning to the zomboil he smiled slightly. "Thank you Alexander. I look forward to training with you." With a slight dip of his head he turned and headed toward the door. He needed to get back to his room quickly, as the first chapter would likely take him most of the evening to read.

Alex watched in silence as the Mantodae got his book successfully checked out, glaring at the gnome all of the while. When everything was completed he looked back to the weremantis, and gave him a warm smile "Hey, no problem! If you ever need anything, you can probably find me here, or the cafeteria." He gave the other boil a small wave as he left, then turned to shamble his way back to his table stacked with books.
