The L.M.S. Corporation.

Founded long ago, what started as a simple railroad company, back when railroads were a new splendor. The Light of the Morning Star Corporation grew to extreme heights. Now it is the most powerful company in the entire world. Owning television and radio stations, as well as countless kinds of products including vacuum cleaners and cars. Their headquarters are in the Adversarius Building of Downtown New Rosenburg. In this tale, there are two characters from the L.M.S. organization.

The Face. The C.E.O.
This is the serves that serves in all the political matters. They do all the talking and smooth over matters with the public and opposition. Strong, charismatic, beautiful. This character must never show a sign of doubt.

The mind. The C.S.O. (Chief Strategy Officer) though beneath the C.E.O. This man is the mind behind the entire operation. The C.E.O. is not dumb, but the C.S.O. is by far more farsighted. The C.S.O. is the one who really makes all the decisions, and must be very very wise.

Though these two characters are the masterminds and decision makers behind the L.M.S. Corp. they are not the owners. There are actually forces above the both of them, there is a council of members, who generally stay out of the public but if the C.E.O. does anything they don’t agree with, they will come forth. Then there is Mr. Drake. He is the actual owner of the Corporation, but he is old and rarely ever leaves his estates.

The New Rosenburg Beacon.

One of the oldest newspaper company in the entire country. They fight for idea of truth, never wanting to lie to their subscribers, despite the complications truth brings about. Well over three fourths of the citizens of New Rosenburg subscribe. Plus countless people on the outskirts of the city, even so far as out of state.

The Reporters. This tale involves a couple reporters, these people go out to get the story or die trying. Throwing caution to the wind they are out to get the scoop. Wanting to be the first to get the story out, and therefore getting the most cash. Very interesting characters.

The Private detectives. These are the men that go about solving peoples issues where the law fails, or refuses to go. The private detective will get to choose the name of his company, as he will be entirely in charge of it. Congrats.

The Private Eye.
The man with the nerves of steel who goes into dangerous situations all for the promise of money. A master at solving crime, and seeing connections in what most people would ignore.

P.E.’s Assistant. Though they are secondary in the company, they are not any less necessary. They are the second oppinion, they have their own set of skills, and are invaluable to the Private Eye.

The Blue collars. The blue collars are the backbone of the country, the hardworkers. The unseen heroes. If you are playing a blue collar, you can be anything from someone’s secretary, to a draftsman, to a security guard. Really open, but usually rather poor.

The Gentlemen.

The Gentlemen are the largest crime syndicate of New Rosenburg. The entirety of their origins is unknown, but they run much of the city behind the scenes. They own the drug trade, the sex trade, they own several banks, run protection rackets and gambling.

The Boss. This man is the leader of the crime organization. He is cunning, knows how to commit grand acts of crime without getting caught. Not a man to mess around with.

The Caporegime.
This person is the muscle of the organization. They are not a mastermind, but are a force to be reckoned with. The Boss comes up with the ideas, the Capo makes sure they are done properly.

The Scholars.
They are not really an organization so much as individuals who hang out around New Rosenburg University and Libraries and such. They are not a tight knit group but do come together often at the library for intellectual discussion.

User ImageCharacter Creation Assistance.

Okay. Now, as it is said in the Encyclopedia section. This is a Pulp Magazine based roleplay. We, are taking the part of the heroes of this tragic tale. This means that we will be pulp heroes. Go to the Pulp Magazine article on Wikipedia and you will find a myriad of examples, like Tarzan, Conan the Barbarian, John Carter of Mars, The Shadow, Doc Savage. The characters we will be playing will be pretty much superhuman. But at the same time not. We do not have superpowers. We can not fly, nor blow peoples heads up with our minds. There can be subtle things, like forms of empathy, but for the most part the Super part is kind of mild from the present perspective.

By superhuman, I mean who we are playing as will be the crème de la crème of the human race. When they are good at something, they are VERY good. Like Conan is good at killing anything that stands in his way. You can be super smart, you can be strong, you can be fast, you can be resourceful. There are many ways to go about it. Just don't over do it. We are not playing gods here. Make the character human.

By human, I mean every human has flaws, Conan the Barbarian, the strong sword wielder was actually pretty smart, though the movie with Arnold in it kinda smashed that image. Even though he was smart though, there were concepts that he casts aside, didn't care about, or just plain ignored. In one tale there was a series of mirrors that allowed a wizard to see into his chambers. Even as the wizard explained how it worked, Conan cast it off as witchcraft. Another Tale, Conan is a sole survivor after a battle in the northern frozen wastes. Well, a woman appears and pretty much says that he can have her if he can catch her. Despite better judgement the Barbarian chases her even farther into the frozen wasteland, and as a result very nearly dies.

Now, this story is set in near modern times, so a giant sword wielding loincloth clad barbarian is not exactly a fitting character. Nevertheless interesting characters can be created if you have the integrity to make the attempt. You want someone who can shoot well, maybe you have someone who fought in the Great War. Or, if that is not fitting for you, maybe you have a character who goes on safari expeditions hunting wild animals in the savage lands. For everything your character excels at, there must be a good reason. And there always must be a flaw.

This roleplay can only successfully pull off the proper mood, if there is constantly a chance that your character might die. It has to be exciting. So don't overdo it.

Username: Hermit Omega
Name: Horace “Ace” Ramses
Sex: Male
Age: 26
Height: 6’7”
Weight: 230 pounds.
Appearance: Ace is a large and always well dressed man. His hair is cut short is a soft brown color. His face is a handsome one with very defined features, and deep green eyes. He has hard cheekbones and a heavy jaw. His body is heavily muscled, a man who knows appearances are important and therefore goes through the greatest care to be presentable. His nails are always trimmed. He moves with grace that is surprising for his size. He has no scars, his skin is well taken care of. He is always clean. His teeth are straight, though his canines are silver. He usually is wearing a black suit and a hat.

Profession: The Boss
Biography: Ace was born to the streets. His parents were hardworking people that just couldn’t ever seem to get ahead. With medical problems and just the all around poor state of the city they never had enough money to lead decent lives. They nevertheless always taught their son that he had to do what was right. To never be morally unsound. This was fine and well until both were murdered by some thug who was wanting extra cash. This is normally where the hero rises out of the sad state and becomes a vigilante for freedom. Instead he turned inward. He became a brooding orphan child who quickly decided that if his parents were right, they wouldn’t be dead.
He went out to the dog eat dog world with his fangs bared, and even before he was a teenager he was adept at getting money from people. Somehow he always found loopholes, and ways to keep himself out of trouble. He found himself becoming rather well educated despite his humble state of being homeless. His first weapon was a knife that he found off a dead bum in an alleyway. The old man had starved to death and Ace knew he wasn’t going to be needing it. After seeing the potential the knife held, that the power of fear and intimidation was great, he never neglected to always have something to defend himself with.
For his entire life he had been running from place to place, terrorizing people when he wasn’t studying. Eventually the Jade Dragon, the group that had at the time owned the Lotus Quarter, noticed his antics. They recruited him into their ranks. As the years went by he rose rather high in the ranks, but there was only so far that he could go as he was not of Asian persuasion. The exact details on how are sketchy, but in the end the Jade Dragon was crushed by forces Ace commanded, and soon The Gentlemen were the new crime lords of the Lotus Quarter. Then he set his sights even higher, the older organizations didn’t think much of him and ignored him, but soon the Italians and the Russians were also cast aside. Now Ace oversees most of the organized crime in New Rosenburg. He has armies of lawyers protecting him, politicians and policemen on his payroll. He is still a man of subtlety, and does his best to keep the attentions of federal agents away from him.
Abilities: Great at doing battle ranged and physical. Also good at running a criminal organization without getting caught. Ace is very strong.
Flaws: He is something of a sociopath, and has issues seeing things other peoples ways. His size makes him a good target. He also has an issue that will be arising shortly.

Personality: A quiet and reserved man. He is unpredictable, and in essence he makes people feel uncomfortable.
Hobbies: He collects weaponry. He reads extensively. He commits crimes for a living haha.

Home Address: He lives in the Lotus District. His home is a fortified building that is actually quite heavily guarded by his men at all times.
Gadgets: He has no special gadgets.
Weapons: A .44 Special that he keeps hidden on his person. A well made bowie knife kept at his hip, and a switchblade in one pocket. He also keeps a Thompson Submachine Gun in the back of his car. As well as a Mosin Nagant.
Transportation: He owns a V16 Cadillac.

Theme Song: The Companions
Anything Else: nah…..
