Personality: A warm, friendly, affectionate, and sociable girl, she tends to do best in smaller groups or around other Fae type of beings. In large crowds of strangers Aoife tends to clam up and try to slip to the outskirts of the crowd lest there be someone she is actively conversing with or if she's set on doing/achieving something to keep her focus from settling on the fact that she's surrounded by strangers. As she's reached her teenage years, her interest in the opposite sex has really made itself known with her flirting with most boys her age (and sometimes older) and her making eyes at those her particularly catch her interest. Aoife doesn't like being left on her own for long periods of time, being the social creature she is. Even if she is with but one other person, she's a happy camper. Her social manner may be a little unorthodox, but she knows how to be polite and does have the knowledge of what is or isn't proper.
Very comfortable in her own skin, those who stop by to visit her either ought to let her know ahead of time or at the very least knock. Elsewise they may find her either in the buff or in as a minimal amount of clothing as she can. She lives for comfort and the joy of everyday and strives for those that choose to surround her to share in this too. (Easy to please and loves to see her friends/family/loved ones enjoying themselves as she does.) Stress or anger in her friends will likely allow them to get to know her snuggly side, seeing as most things can be fixed by snuggling. Right? She doesn't seem able to hold onto anger for very long, either by choice or otherwise. Aoife appears to enjoy or find comfort in being able to at least lean against someone else. If worried or distressed over something, she may not immediately come out and say what is bothering her, but those who are astute around her can pick up on her being particularly clingy.
She loves the sea, naps, sunbathing, swimming, and dancing.
Oh yes. This girl loves her some dancing. It's easy to move and twist and carry on in all sorts of graceful ways underwater, but the challenge and thrill of dancing well on land seems to appeal to her.
Appearance: On the shorter side of average, Aoife is a curvy little thing with a bit of softness about her belly and hips. [Body shape like:
about so. ] Her eyes are large and dark (either straight black or maybe dark brown irises), framed by thick lashes. Across the upper parts of her face, her shoulders, down her back, and along the sides of her hips are freckles. Her skin is light tan in tone. Her hair, which is about the color of a Havana Brown cat's coat, is long, thick, and wavy, reaching to just about the small of her back. (She wears it in all manner of ways. Up, down, half up/half down, braided, in a loose bun. Whatever.)
Other: Potentially trouble. This gal is a wild child and a bit of an exhibitionist. She doesn't like the way most clothes feel constricting of her movements. This is mostly in her head because she can still move perfectly fine even in form fitting dresses, she just doesn't like the way a good deal of clothes fit or sit on her. As such, she may default to a bandeau, halter, or tank style tops if she isn't feeling particularly adventurous. Aoife does branch out when she's feeling like it. Most dresses are alright, as are skirts. Pants and shorts have been taking the most amount of time for her to get used to. Lace up shoes as well. Things more complicated than slip-ons tend to confound her. (Laces, buckles, and straps, what do they even mean?!) She can dress to impress but the will to do so, or the motivation to doll up for someone or something special, has to be there.
Her stance on relationships is actually more akin to those of seals. She wouldn't be above sharing her fellow with a few other ladies if he were so inclined. (Think like a dominant bull seal and his little harem of ladies.) However, if he were to neglect her or not stand up for her in case she were to need him, then she's gone. If the fellow she is interested in reciprocates but doesn't want anyone but her, then she'll be all to happy to keep him to herself. If a guy played his cards right, he could have his cake and eat it too, without having to steal her skin to force compliance. [But that takes work and effort. The easy, lazy way would be to take her skin. She would smile, but sadness would be easily evident in her dark, expressive eyes, sadness of being unable to freely return to the sea that she so loves.]
She must be careful about where she removes her skin and where she hides it. If some guy were to see her taking off her skin and hiding it, or if the guy were to follow her and snatches it before she can, she would be forced to be his girlfriend, or even his wife! He must hide it though, for, even though she would go about being a good and loyal wife/girlfriend, her true home is in the sea, if she were to find it, she would abandon him and immediately return to the sea.
Either hides her pelt or folds it up carefully and carries it with her in a big purse or a backpack. (She'd only really carry it with her if something happened to cause her to get anxious about keeping an eye on her pelt, like if she spotted/noticed one of her hiding places being found out or rummaged around in. Possibly if going to spend the night elsewhere with water around. (Honestly, how many people get to say they've been swimming with a seal? Not many I don't think. But she would only do it with those she trusts to her very core.)

Natural Ability: Transformation – With her pelt on, she appears to be that of a seal. Able to remove her pelt at will, she appears fully human without it on.
Her seal pelt only works for her. If someone else were to put it on, they would just have a seal skin draped over them. Same applies for other selkies; they can’t use her pelt and she can’t use theirs.
