Maddie was born on a rather large estate in the beautiful mountains for France. They were, for the most part, a happy family and Madeline was given whatever she desired. Everything was perfectly fine until her pathetic uncle came running to her overly kind father. Her father owned what used to be a successful company until he involved his brother, running the place into the ground. Her uncle was a greedy and jealous man, and stole all of her father's money and giving debt collectors her father's name instead of his own. Being the kind man that he was, Madeline's father paid off his brother's debt, but they family had lost everything because of it. With no home, money, or good reputation they had to flee across the great ocean and settle in America. Madeline was only eight when they moved into a ratty apartment, and her mother being used to the rich lifestyle quickly abandoned them. The lost of his wealth and the woman he loved destroyed him, and the young shifter's life quickly became a hell. It was shortly after her mother's abandonment that Madeline learned the secret of her existence. Crying out in agony during her first shift, Madeline laid in the floor exhausted as a fluffy white puppy. Looking up at her father with hopeful and scared eyes, Madeline found herself left alone when the man turned away in disgust. She realized her father was no longer the happy man she remembered him to be.
Getting a job in some dinky shop, her father slowly took to drinking and continued to further his addiction with each passing day. Since her coming to America, Maddie was forced to learn a new language and come home to take care of her drunkard of a father. Food was not an everyday thing for the growing girl, and whatever they did have to eat was just because the good graces of their neighbors. When Maddie turned sixteen everything took a turn for the worse. It was like an other night, her father coming home in another drunken stupor, but something was off about the man. It turned out that he had seen his ex-wife happily married to some rich older man, with a child close behind. This not only angered the man but broken Madeline's heart as well. It was that night, that the man she loved dearly started hitting her. It was the last night she saw her father as well. The neighbors next door heard the commotion and quickly notified the police, who came busting in to find Maddie with a busted lip. She was taken away to foster family who had no children of their own, and ended up adopting the poor child. While living with her new family, Madeline would sneak out of the house whenever she felt like shifting. The young teen was terrified if they found out about her, that they would give her the same look of disgust her father gave her, and Madeline honestly believed she couldn't handle that look again. It was at night when the shifter would run out in order to get used to the painful shifting, and it was her time of thinking as well. Madeline decided long ago that she would not be like her parents. Instead she would be strong and protective of her family. With her already stubborn, intelligent, and hard-working nature it helped, not only understand herself better, but turn her into the beautiful breed of animal she is today.
Things soon started to get better and Madeline graduated high school with high honors. When she was old enough to move out, the woman quickly did so and went to college. There she started her career as a writer, and when she graduated there Madeline moved to continue her career in a more peaceful setting. It was easier said then done and after a time, Maddie started to feel quite alone. It was then that she started to think about her first shift, and Madeline wondered if there were others out there. There had to be and packing her things, Madeline traveled for what seemed like years until she came across the town of Winchester. It was surrounded by thick forests which Madeline loved along with the quiet it could offer her. Walking into the woods she found a house that felt comfortable, and walking into the place that housed canines like herself. Since then, Maddie has continued her rather prosperous writing career in her home.

___Whenever writing a new book Madeline doesn't like to be disturbed, and can tend to be a little cranky when she does. Her accent can be heard whenever she is stressed or angered, and sometimes her native language will come spewing out curses.
