Dr. Cecilia Reyez's thoughts to herself.
Two days straight now, I've been awake and working at a mad pace trying to finish and piece everything together. Nothing is making sense now. It's here, just me being up for two days isn't helping me accomplish anything. Well it's actually more than two days, since I came off a 72 hour shift from the hospital. I think in the past five days I've managed to get six hours of sleep. I've managed to tax myself to my limits. An autopsy report usually takes up to a month, but we're not talking about a full autopsy only a portion of one. Still, nonetheless, it does take time. I don't want to throw together something and hand it to Furious done half assed. Talk about respect flying out the window if I take that route. Which I'm not.
Dammit! I feel as though I'm missing something here! I need another set of eyes to go over this report! John! Where are you?! When I need you at a time like this! When the League needs you more than ever?! Oh snap! I forgot all about Natasha! I was meaning to go over that video link to the Bio Sphere and I've just become so tangled up in duties here since everything went to hell in a hand basket! What is up with the disappearing acts taking place here? Is 2011 the New Year to just up and magically disappear off into some realm without giving word to anyone? I just don't know anymore, maybe I'm not supposed to know.
I wish I had the answers to all these unsolved questions and now mysteries surrounding the Watch Tower. Life used to be so simple and now it's becoming complex. I'm not blaming anyone it's just the economy and how life is moving forwards instead of backwards. Times like these? I actually wish that there is a reset button somewhere. To just stop, pause, reset and do over. But life isn't like that. If life was, I'm pretty sure that a lot of people would be resetting their lives right about now. Sitting at the lab's desk with the autopsy report before her, her pen swinging in the air as if it were a baton. Dr. Reyez let her mind wander for the time being before getting back to the report at hand.
I have got to get some sleep. Otherwise I'm going to end up hurting myself by getting ill over not getting any sleep, as well as getting any nourishment. Tea isn't going to cut it, I need some form of protein and solid foods in my body to help me function properly. Something. Although, I'm placing myself in second for the time being. Furious needs this report, he wants to move forwards. There is no pause in life. I've got to get some sleep, even if it's just for a few hours. If I don't I will be useless to the rest of the team. I do believe I am the only medical doctor on staff right now. Dammit. This just gets better and better.Rachel Raven Roth
A cold hand appeared on Cecilia shoulder.
"You are making me tired by just sitting here. I may not be the medical doctor you need but....But I can offer something you do." Raven said the room feeling heavy one might say as the demoness charged her magic.
Cecilia's internal alarm went off as she was touched by a cold hand. It was bad enough that she had been moving back and forth from the cold environment in autopsy to the pathology lab throughout the last two days. The sensation of a cold hand touching her made her think, the dead was walking. Paranoia and stress settled in just then. Amazing what can happen when a person has been taxed to their limits for several days. Her personal shielding went into complete override, as she lept out of her chair shrieking, readying to strike.
"SWEET JESUS!!!" Holding back her fist that she had drawn back ready to sucker punch whomever it was. Adrenaline rush times ten! Her heart was racing rapidly along with her breathing. If this was a joke, someone was seriously going to receive an instant a** whooping. Seeing that it wasn't her mind playing tricks with her, she saw a robed figure standing there. Surely this woman, was not a person to play jokes. Relaxing her tense body as she sat back down in the chair. Her hands holding her head.
"P-please, please don't do that. I'm sorry.. a little edgy here. Lack of sleep kind of does that to someone." Sliding her fingers down and away from her eyes, Cecilia stared at the woman for a long amount of time before responding. Dark circles had formed under her eyes from lack of sleep,
"I didn't even know you were here, this place, the lab is as quiet as a tomb." A headache now onslaughted her, as she rubbed at her temple, cringing. Having replayed what the woman stated to her in her tired mind,
"I am making you tired?" A dry laugh escaped,
"For your information, I'm not just sitting here. I've actually been working." It may have sounded like dark sarcasm that escaped on those bitter words, it was the lack of sleep talking then.

The woman moved back with unearthly speed and ease she paused to allow Cecilia a moment to sucumb to the feeling of relaxation she cast about the room.
"I am sorry to have starteled you Dr.Cecilia. but I was in the sanctuary room and could not block out your thoughts or condition. you need rest, but i know you will not pause your work, I can help you if you allow me to." Raven knew her physical appearence would not help ease her, liquidpaper skin and pupilless purple eyes, abnormally tall and extra joints in her fingers.
The feeling of relaxation entering in the room was welcomed, however she was not ready to rest. Not yet. Waving a sole finger in casual conversation towards the woman,
"You're Raven right? I'm sorry for my outburst, I really am." Rubbing the left side of her temple. She couldn't help but smirk,
"Thank you Captain Obvious!" Giving her a thumbs up,
"I know, believe me I will be sleeping after I speak with Furious. Thank you for your concern, I do appreciate it. I do need to pull myself out of this hole in the wall and back to the world of the living." Quirking a brow in curiosity,
"Help me? The only help I can truly think of is... no never mind." She laughed mostly to herself just then. The laughter was nothing against Raven, Dr. Reyez was just at the end of her rope with the lack of sleep going on. Standing upright with the report in her hand,
"I do appreciate you checking up on me, again I am sorry for my actions. I did not mean to cause you any grief, Raven." Walking past Raven she headed out of the lab to go speak promptly with Furious with her results.
