Ok so here I am an 18 year old high schooler in the middle of the street hanging out with a bunch of middle schoolers with nothing better to do. Its was about 6:30 and it had gotten dark. I was trying to have some fun so I got on this skateboard on my belly, my brother pushed me and It swerved and I got a mouthful of concrete just as these two girls walked by from my school. But thats not the part I was upset about. As they walked past this young middle school girl shouted "LESBIANS" the other one shouted "THAT ONE LOOKS LIKE A MAN" and my brother shouted "I LOVE LESBIANS" They all sounded very foolish and I felt like I was a part of it. So then i started lecturing them about how they should treat people with respect. I didnt want to say to much because my brother was their, and I dont want him to find out that Im gay. They dont walk by other people and shout HETEROSEXUALS! I think Im going to go apologize to them tomorrow at school on behalf of my stupid neighbors.

Your expecting too much from these people. To MY experience, which Im still in high schools (alot of high schools in the damn western hemisphere actually) most people are too busy posing, and to pose they need to pick on some other clique. Lets make a scenario where your not even present, theyd probably say the same about goths, emos, rockers, geeks, otakus, jocks, etc etc. While its not horribly obvious like back then, cliques are still present, and homosexuality seems to be identified as one. Most high schoolers are retarded ghetto/badass wannabes anyways, should you really care for what they think? You should probably build a stronger emotional strength. If a rat comes along and steals my food, Im not going to feel disrespected, just pissed. Im just against the lecture honestly, other than that, (if thats all) you should really care less.

I stopped giving a ******** about the opinions of high school students. Hardly any of them are mature to understand anything. Random note is your dream avatar based on Vinyl Scratch?

Just to clarify: your brother and his friends were making fun of two random people passing by? The comments are confusing me...
If this is the case, I would be upset at them too. There's no reason to be that immature. Sure they are kids, but they need to learn at an early age. If it were me, I would drag my brothers sorry a** home after bitching at them all.

Yeah, when I was in middle school, I didn't think being gay was ever a bad thing, but I didn't know people agreed with me. I never pretended to be a homophobe, I just kind of never talked about it, and if it ever was brought up, I'd just kind of shrugged it off. In seventh grade, I started to realize more and more people supported it, and I gradually became more vocal about my opinions on LGBT rights. Middle school kids barely comprehend all this stuff, so it's best that you don't let it bother you, or at least try. Once they get older they'll understand how stupid they were in middle school.
