In the world of Zoama, since the Guardians were created, there have been strange creatures roaming the lands. Raw magic touched them several centuries ago and they simply evolved and multiplied on their own.
They've come to be called Companions, and several species have popped up. They spread the globe and were as curious and numerous as the Guardians that they're bi-products of. Many run wild around Mistwick, often picked up as loyal pets and hunting companions. Some breeds of Companion do well as house pets, others are far better suited to message delivery, hunting trips, or guard animals. Below you'll find entries on each Companion as they are introduced to Mistwick. At the bottom of each entry you'll find various "types" of each species. Any Companion released during an event or game will be added to this list. Any shown are available, for free, by anyone who participated in the event thread, or who owns a Guardian.
Be a hoarder if you like, or simply collect one you love if you've joined late.

OVERVIEW:
Drakes are small dragon-like reptiles. Often the size of medium to large sized dogs, they're popular, and very loyal, Companions. If you can tame one of course. There is no such thing as a domestic Drake. Those that have been tamed and turned into comfortable house pets, will still give birth to wild Drakes, no matter how many times you attempt to breed the wild out. Found wild on the cliffs below the observatory, they originally hail from all over the globe. Most Drakes are pretty easy going and placid, often found in the Observatory's gardens, having wandered in and simply stopping for a nap. They will happily sit and watch people, even wild ones, go about their days. They don't scatter like pigeons when you run into a flock of them, instead they stare at you curiously, often nipping at ankles if they've been startled. Never mess with a mother Drake's eggs. Ever. Even if someone pays you to. They are fierce protectors of their hatcheries and will fight you to get you away from them. That many teeth, jaws like an iron vice, and claw meant to rip open hard shelled crabs, are not things you want coming at you.
HABITAT:
Originally Drakes spawned in an area rich in salt mines and incredibly dry air. Since then they spread across the globe, being incredibly hardy creatures, they easily adapt to most climates, aside from extreme cold. The clutch living in Mistwick was brought over by a collector and is only about a century old. During the winters on the island they sleep a lot, often getting close to a full hibernation.
DIET:
Meat. They are carnivore by nature, feeding mostly on fish and seafood. Some small game often gets included in the diet. Those that live with people as house pets often eat on raw steaks their owners by for them, and various rodents that may find their way into their homes.
