Matt Kenseth, 2004 IROC Champion, collected the first race win of the Crown Royal IROC season, edging out Sam Hornish Jr. The race was marred by two big wrecks, one caused Ted Musgrave's engine to erupt into flames in the infield, the other... well...
3 Laps to go, aggressive bump drafting continued into turn 3 and 4. Frank Kimmel nudged Steve Kinser, who tapped Max Papis' back bumper. Kimmel nudged Kinser again... and the rest, they might say, would take your breath away. The "King of Outlaws" green car lifted off the racing surface, flipping over Tony Stewart's hood AND completely clearing Scott Sharp, before rolling and wrecking out on the Turn 4 infield.
Safety crews took 12 minutes to cut away from Kinser's IROC machine.
AND HE WALKED AWAY. *insert applause here*
Kimmel assisted Kenseth to his win, on the last lap, Kenseth tapped Truex Jr. aside, and Hornish took 2nd trying to rub Kenseth in turn 3. Hornish was denied, and Kenseth took the victory!

That was a memorable race.
I never knew a six car field could be so exciting. (at the end of the race)
